Habaneros Mexican Grill

I read no reviews prior to stopping in for lunch. Had I, I would have been more disappointed than I am. The free chips were tasteless and the salsa tasted like it came from a jar in the chip aisle of your local grocery store. The meal itself was mediocre and the coffee was rather cold. For lunch, the prices were a bit high.

I love this place! It’s my go-​to place if I don’t want fast food style Tijuana. There’s a great vibe and the food was deliciously spicy like I asked them to make it. Would def go again!

Decent Mexican «inspired» food.
I went with my 2 year old daughter for lunch. On entrance the lightening was nice and there’s no host. We were seated quickly. They don’t have a kids menu or coloring sheet. (Luckily I have a well behaved toddler)
A server brought us chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. Shortly after our server got our drink and app order. Everything was very quick. Everything tasted fresh. For lunch I ordered arroz con camarones. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and not bland or over seasoned. My dish was great. I ordered a beef soft taco for my daughter. She typically doesn’t turn down food but was not interested in the meat. Honestly it tasted like cat food. Not appealing at all. Taco Hell has better «beefy» than that.
All in all. It was a decent lunch. I wish the staff was friendlier. They weren’t rude at all but didn’t give a «warm» vibe. The food was good other than the beef. The atmosphere could use some work. It seems very empty and dull.

Chicken inside my wife’s burrito tasted like it was microwaved. My enchiladas weren’t too bad. It’s on par with mall food (located in mall). Won’t come back.

Service is exceptional, especially at the bar. Margaritas are on point, chips and salsa are amazing, and the food is good. Definitely go here.

I think calling what I ate here «Mexican» is a stretch. It’s probably like calling Olive Garden «Italian» food. I live in Arizona so we get almost real Mexican Food there. Also the restroom was nasty and in need of cleaning. Don’t go here expecting to be wowed.

We love this place and have been going since they first opened. We usually wait until we get their $ 8.00 off coupon that frequently comes in the mail, and then we go! Their gold margaritas are the best! Very smooth… and they have a special for them on Saturdays. Take advantage of their outdoor patio too. It’s so nice. The service is always great. If you can, ask for Audi… she is by far the best and nicest server there. :)

I really like Habaneros. Have been here multiple times, and I’m not sure which is my favorite: the good, the mango margaritas or the people working here!
We’ve always have had excellent service here. Today, our waitress, Audy, was exceptional. Very pleasant, personable and darn, she makes the best mango margaritas. I’m in Mexico on Cinco de Mayo, but frankly I think I’d rather be here.

I read some great reviews about this place and thought I’d check it out for lunch.
My coworkers who are regulars told me they usually have a daily special which I was looking forward to but they didn’t have any the day I ate there.
The lunch menu was pretty good though. I ordered a Speedy Gonzalez which is an enchilada, a taco and your choice of rice or salad.
The service was fast. The food was good and the prices are reasonable.
I plan on going back so I can try their margaritas and beef enchiladas.
Side note, they really need to change the décor. it is quite dated and doesn’t «scream» Mexican restaurant. It looks more like a 1960’s retro place.

Love this place! Consistent food and service. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is always friendly. If you like spicy, ask for the habanero salsa.

The food is bland and the salsa is awful! The only good thing was the service. We will not go back.

Is it gourmet Mexican food? No. Is it consistently good food and service? Yes. The salsa has a nice kick to it. I have had the enchiladas, the chile rellenos and tamales and all were good. The rice and beans are tasty. At dinner it is fairly slow, so unfortunately you can hear the conversation of the people from the table next to you. Mexican people are coming to eat here, so that is a good sign.

Unfortunately, they don’t even know how to prepare Guacamole. Their plates are small.

Fresh, good and a nice variety of menu. Tonight we had a couple of combinations so were able to try shredded beef, cheese enchiladas, chicken, tamale. Everything good, meat plentiful, fresh tasting and juicy. Spectacular mango margarita, beer was cold and the service was friendly and helpful. It is so much better than the chain restaurant also at the mall… will go back (have been going to their Longwood location for a long time0. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

I respect everyone’s opinion about what they think good Mexican cuisine should be. But everyone that gave poor reviews for this place should continue to frequent their local Taco Bell and drive thru for their Meal.
I travel to Mexico several times a year and Habaneros is as close to the real thing as it gets. Please don’t leave without trying the guacamole made fresh at your table side. Service was excellent and never had to wait for anything.
Two words. JUST GO!

Lunch specials are legit and its not as greasy or terrible as everyone else says it is.

The reviews for this restaurant are all very low, but they are also all from several months ago. Since then, I believe they have come under new management and/​or really gotten their act together. I was wary coming in because of some of the things others had said, but the place is great. The service is incredibly fast, the food is good, and it’s very clean.
I recommend the #12 combo!

WISH I COULD GIVE LESS THAN ONE STAR
Horrible —
1. Décor looks like a 1960s margarita threw up green.
2. Blaring Mexican music with speakers aimed at booths — unable to have a conversation for all the yips and ay-​yay-​yays. Asked server if she could turn it down — she turned it off completely and gave me a nasty look.
3. Speaking of margarita — lousy from a mix or can.
4. Modelo Negro on tap — flat.
5. Nachos requested without sour cream came floating in sour cream.
6. Carne asada — two leather-​like, unflavored and tough shoe sole-​shaped pieces of meat. Never had such bad carne asada ever. One shoe soul went inedibly uneaten — when it cooled down it became even tougher (micro-​waved?)
All in all, WORST MEXICAN DECOR, DRINKS AND FOOD EVER — even wrote that on the check.

Nice to have something at least in the realm of what I am missing since I have moved from South Texas.
Quest Fundido isn’t top quality but was nice to have and the salsa has no spice to it so leaves some to be desired while it is still a bit tasty.
