I had the guys at Hopkins process a deer that I shot this past hunting season. Their rates were very reasonable and the prices were excellent. They were very fast and efficient, the finished product was ready the next day. I had it half ground and half sausage. The sausage was excellent and the ground product was excellent also.
I wish that we had a place like this here in Daytona so i could do all of my meat shopping there. This is a little bit of a throwback to the days of old.
This place is a little hard to find if you are not paying attention but my gps took me right there.

I absolutely love this place! It reminds me a lot of the butcher shops back home in Georgia. It’s typical always pretty busy. They have a big board where they write what they have available and the prices. I came here specifically to get porterhouse steaks. After a few minutes, it was my turn to put in my meat request. They didn’t have many to choose from out in the case, so they went to the back and cut some to my specifications. The guy helping me came from the back and handed me 4 of the prettiest porterhouses! (And they were definitely very yummy too!!). I got checked out quickly and was on my way home to cook my birthday deliciousness. Friendly, fast, and awesome quality food… I definitely recommend any meat lover to check this place out!

This place has lived up to its name as an old fashion butcher shop. Prices are great on both the chicken and beef. Staff is friendly and will take special orders if given time. For the hunters of Florida this place will also prep your deer. Cant go wrong.

Hopkins is a legit neighborhood meat market, seriously!
So neighborly that I was doubting my gps as I was passing through the residential homes bordering the market. Thankfully, there were signs to confirm that my journey to the land of meat was not in vain. Huzzah! As you are parking your car in their dirt lot; you realize this is an all meat and no frills place. Their selection is what you expect from a traditional meat market and more. Prices were really reasonable for the items that I saw. Went home with their in-​house made cheddar jalapeño sausage and a slab of baby back ribs for a nice weekend bbq. The sausage had a great snap with extremely delicious flavor; consider buying it if you like sausages, cheddar, or jalapenos.
Definitely coming back here to buy meat for my next big gathering cookout!

The best and freshest meat around. Prices are fair. I go out on Fridays because they smoke their sausages on Thursday and they are so fresh. Make their own Italian sausage, brats, andoulie and breakfast pork sausages. Chicken wings are huge, a lot of meat. Ground chuck is usually $ 2.79 a pound, and its ground fresh on a continual basis. Got a smoked turkey from them last year and it was wonderful, the white meat was very moist. They don’t use frozen turkeys, and they brine them before smoking to keep them moist. I got another smoked turkey this year for Thanksgiving and it was outstanding, the meat was very moist and flavorful.

I’ve been a Petty’s loyalist since moving to the Altamonte area in summer of ’12 but decided I’d try Hopkins after reading about it on Unilocal.In my opinion, it’s just ok. The selection isn’t near what Petty’s is but, yes, the prices are a tad bit cheaper. Not worth the drive from Altamonte when I think Petty’s has better quality as well.

I go here for freshly butchered meat! Hopkins takes you back to the days of a local butcher who can answer any question. I can get 1 week’s worth of meat for the price of 2 meals worth at a grocery store. Go early, because they sell out quick!

This is as good as it gets for a local butcher shop. There isn’t anything fancy about Hopkins, just know that the quality of the meats are very high. Actually, my profile pic has 3 bone-​in ribeye steaks that were cut to my specifications and weighed a whopping 36oz a piece. They will cut anything you want for you if you don’t see what you need in the cases. I always go here to get my meat when I’m going to be cooking something nice.
So many people will go to Petty’s in Longwood and pay very expensive prices for the same grade of meat. Petty’s has high overhead and too much going on to keep their prices lower… so I am sticking to Hopkins, those guys rock!

Why did I wait so long to review Hopkins? One of those businesses that is always busy and have been there forever and ever, which can only speak to it’s awesomeness.
It’s a slaughterhouse and a butcher shop (I know, you’ll be oooookay), so EVERYthing is extremely fresh. Very clean shop, reasonable prices on all kinds of meaty goods, from quality steaks and chicken to hot dogs and sausages and a ton of other stuff, especially meats of the pork-​related variety. YAY!
Curbie’s Sidewalk Café uses their hot dogs and they’re so big and meaty, they need to put them on a hoagie roll-​and they’re still almost too big.
On occasion, in season, you can get freshly made venison sausage. Quite good.
It’s in the middle of nowhere, but worth looking for.
