Great diner with tons of menu options. They have everything from breakfast, burgers, chicken fried steak, salad and ice cream. We had great service and our food came out fast. You could spend under $ 20 for two easily. Also, the blueberry muffin ice cream reminds me of blueberry pancakes. Just yum.

Great casual spot for burgers, ice cream, fried pickles and breakfast. Is styled like a 1950, s diner without being overly kitschy. Staff is incredible. Really friendly, fast and responsive. Also really inexpensive. My wife and I’s bill has never been more than $ 20. There also is a nice selection of more«home cooked» items such as meatloaf, chicken n’ dumplings, applesauce and sweet potato casserole. Only negative is the French fries are decidedly average.

I’ve been here twice and it’s an ok place. Biggest problems that are bothering me after eating here today is watching a waitress cough in her hands and not wash them, THEN using the bathroom while wearing her apron and not changing it. Anyone who is ServSafe certified for food handler safety knows this is a big time violation. Pros are the staff is always quick to attend to you and the restaurant seems to be well taken care of. The disappointments are the food is nothing special and our breakfasts this morning were nothing to brag about. Eggs were cooked wrong, received wrong side items, and everything seemed plain. We didn’t inform our waitress because it wasn’t that big of a deal. Other times we were here our burgers were good but nothing very memorable.

The burger and fries were nothing spectacular, cookout is better. Had a brownie sundae which was rather filling. Disappointed that the ice cream wasn’t homemade! It is cheap though. I will come back to try an entrée. Also… the hours are now 630 – 930.

The dairy bar was closed due to a fire for many months. We visited recently two weeks after they reopened. The interior looks sleek and clean, although all the collectible memorabilia is now gone. New large photographs in black-and-white adorn the walls, the booths have new comfy black seating, and there are red pendant lights for punch of color. Our service was spectacular, although the dinner rush was on.

This place was bomb! Found it on Unilocal and tried it for first time. The place was very clean and had that old diner feel from the 50’s. Service was top notch. Got drink refills before the other one was even empty. Split blue burger with my sis. The burger itself was actually small. It wasn’t like Whopper, Nations or Red Robin huge at all but it was loaded with huge crisp bacon slices and all the fixin’s. Topped meal off with banana split for 3. Awesome. You can’t go wrong. Unfortunately for me I will never be back. I live in Cali but it was one of the best places I visited while in NC. Give em a try!

I love this place. It is located in my hometown as suffered a fire about 8 months ago. They have just reopened and are fully remodeled. I got the cheese fries yesterday and they were just like they were before they closed. I highly recommend them!!!

Great little place. We ordered an omelette and stuffed French toast. Delicious! We stopped on our way out of town for our anniversary. My husband called ahead and had them make heart pancakes for us. They were great pancakes. My husband said they were the best he’s had. Everyone was very friendly. We will come again with our kids.

The food is pretty decent. Real potatoes in the mashed potatoes! Great fried pickles. it’s a diner, so don’t expect 5 star dining. Great service and atmosphere. I could tell many of the customers in the packed restaurant have been coming here for years and knew each other. Awesome homemade banana pudding.

What a great find! We stopped in for breakfast and were impressed. The food was good and the price was fair. In our group, we had two omelettes, a healthy special, and a BEC biscuit. The portions were sized just right. It was a little slow getting our food but we did get there during the rush. While waiting, they kept our cups full of coffee and water without asking, which was nice. This place really is a gem of a restaurant in Sanford!

After more than two years in the Old North State, I’m still discovering new and delicious places. Add Fairview Dairy Bar to the list. Unfortunately, I stuffed myself on guacamole and huevos rancheros earlier in the day and can only speak to the ice cream and service. Two scoops of ice cream, bunny tracks and chocolate chip cookie dough respectively, quickly turned into four as my date and I gorged ourselves on a veritable dairy feast. Our waitress was friendly and super attentive, the rest of the menu sounded great, and the price was right. What else can you ask for on a 90 degree October day?

Hands down the best burger I have ever had. This Cute dairy bar has adorable ambiance with lots of local flair. I had the UNC Tarheel burger but with blue cheese. It was absolutely the best meat flavor, not greasy but extremely flavorful. It put Johnson’s in Siler City to shame and they make a good burger. My husband and I will be going back for a repeat soon. It is worth the drive to this adorable town and friendly folks at Fairview Dairy Bar.

This neighborohood icon has been around since 1954, and stepping inside is not unlike entering the WayBack Time Machine set for that year. There are pictures of autos of the era, Hollywood stars — especially Marilyn Monroe(the wife of the owner collects them, and returning customers often bring her additions) — and a general feeling of the ‘50s. There is little remaining of a dairy bar concept — which it was in the beginning, in a small building across the street from the present location — this is a diner that serves 3 meals a day, 6 days a week. The breakfast items are typical, and very good. The sandwiches and plates at lunch and dinner are also all very good. There are daily specials, and fried seafood items on Friday, including all you can eat shrimp. The burger here is a large, thick patty with great flavor once well salted, and it comes off the grill with a little outside crust, which I really like. The Chili Dog here is simply outstanding, either all the way or leaving the slaw off. The slaw here is nice, not overly sweet, goes well on the dog. The chili is meaty with a very nice taste; the wiener is a typical southern style one, and the bun is soft. Botton line — the Burger & Chili Dogs are both destination sandwiches, and among the best in this area of the state. The folks here are friendly, the owner talkative, the environment is pleasing. The speed out of the kitchen is not particularly quick, in fact it is slow, so we’re not talking fast food here. We called in our order of 2 chili dogs and a cheesburger, and it was over 25 minutes before we were handed our order — good food, good folks, but a bit slow. Food is worth the time, but you may want to call in your order, and allow plenty of time.
