Gotta love Wolfy’s! I’ll admit, the parking lot can be confusing at night if you’ve never been(as I have to explain to someone how to get into Wolfy’s in the evening). They could probably use a few more miscellaneous lights out there or a lighted sign so it’s easier to find. Once you get that figured out, you’re golden. Wolfy’s is open during lunch times and whatnot, but I really only visit after 8pm on weekends. The front has this cool wooden staircase that leads up to the door. There are usually a couple staff members by the front(in the evening) that will jump up from their break to grab the door for you. Right when you walk in, the first thing you’ll notice is the big bar in the center. Behind it, lining the backside of the restaurant are this enormous windows overlooking the water. I’m sure it’s a sight during the day or at sunset. The restrooms are always clean. The tables are always wiped down. The food is pretty awesome. I always order the chicken caesar salad and my boyfriend usually orders wings. Of course, we split a pitcher or two of some ice cold Yuengling! The service is always great, however, I do have to brag about Theresa. She is amazing! She’s always working when Liquid Biscuit Band plays a gig(60’s, 70’s and some 80’s country and rock), which is why I started coming to Wolfy’s. I think Theresa has been our server all but one time, and even then, she was helping our server, who seemed new. That woman is so quick! She must be an old pro at this because she never misses a beat. She remembers who ordered what at your table, she keeps your drinks full, and she manages to do all of this with a friendly attitude while waiting just about every other table in this place! Definitely ask if Theresa is working because you’ll want her as your waitress. She’s the best :) We would eat here more often if it weren’t so far from our house.

Beautiful restaurant located on the marina with an amazing view of the lake . We arrived on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for brunch and relaxation. Surprisingly it was not crowded and we were given the choice to sit where we wanted. We made ourselves comfortable and had this unbelievable view of the lake. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Their menu was appealing, I’d focus on the seafood section and ordered fried shrimps with onion rings and a handful of shock top. Our waitress was a doll and gave us top notch services. Good quality of food, amazing services, beautiful view of the lake, and affordable. Whenever I’m in the Sanford area, I’d definitely like to visit again.

If you’re looking for a low key place to eat on the lake, this is it. I usually go with another person and share a pitcher of beer for about $ 6, and I order the fried fish sandwich. The fries are good and the batter the use for the fish is pretty good as well. My hush puppies were cooked all the way last time though… But I’ll let it slide. The service is fair, and the view on the lake is perfect(go around sunset!!!). If you’re a nonsmoker, it’s hard to find a place to sit outside that’s not around a chain smoking drunk. But all in all, I would definitely come back if I want a fish sandwich :) ***update**** Twice in a row I was served the skinniest starving fish on my sandwich. Even after I asked about it, they said it was always that way. False. Fraud. I’m offended I’m disgusted and I’m hurt but I’d still come here for a pitcher anyway.

I guess you could say I’m an easy to please gal. As long as a place has a casual ambiance where I can dress like the bum that I am, enjoy live music, and waterfront views, I am a happy camper — throw in some seafood too, and I am in heaven. Considering some reviews call this place a «biker bar,» I cannot help but wonder if I was a biker that lived on a boat in a past life… Walking around Sanford’s Monroe Harbour Marina on a Saturday afternoon, my partner in crime and I heard the sound of acoustic guitars emanating from Wolfy’s, a Key West style bar. When we saw the day’s special was a fish and chips for $ 10, we looked at each other and headed straight over to Wolfy’s, as we both love music, the water, and seafood. We walked in and saw that pretty much all the tables face the water. The somewhat cramped tables inside also faced a stage, where live music was playing. Johnny Cash tunes, Hendrix tunes, and southern rock and roll were all being performed by a very talented band that put their own flavor on the tunes. We were particularly amused by the young lady that was playing the tambourine(with her feet), the acoustic guitar, and singing, all at the same time, which is quite a feat. The service was very laid back, so if you’re one of those uptight people who wants everything now and cannot wait as you impatiently tap your fingernails on the table, you may want to skip Wolfy’s. This is a place to chill and relax, throw back a few beers, and forget the long work week. Leave all the formalities at the door. The waitress took down our order and then after about 20 minutes, she sheepishly admitted that the cook had dropped our fish when he was serving it and he was making us a new order. Wow. That is impressive, considering a lot of people in the food industry are caught picking food off the floor and serving it. When they brought our new order and accidentally added coleslaw(which they then removed), we decided to ask if we could have it anyway. Since we had been put through a long wait for our meal, we each got a free serving of coleslaw, which was nice. The fries were tasty and crispy with seasoning — a more subtle and less greasy of the famous Checker’s type of fries. The fish was lightly battered and tender, to my relief, because cod can either be heavily battered to the point there is a thick crust around it, or it can have a somewhat strong odor and thick, tough texture, but neither of these things occurred. The tartar sauce that accompanied the fish was all it needed, so we did not need vinegar or mayonnaise. We finished our meal, relaxed and nodded along to the music, while observing the two drunken patrons that knocked the microphone down on their way to the restroom. At that point, the bartenders decided to cut off their alcohol supply and make sure they had designated drivers, so the ladies and their husbands left — good on the staff for showing concern. Although I am curious as to what the ambiance is like at night, we are probably correct in assuming that it probably gets loud and rowdy, rather than laid back the way it is in the afternoon. If you love live music and seafood and you’re a Jimmy Buffet-type, then this place will probably appeal to you(at least in the afternoon, I cannot speak for their night time ambiance, as I mentioned). I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of their customers are boaters that live or work in the marina either. Don your t-shirt, jeans and flip-flops and plop yourself down. I wish we had places like this in Miami rather than overpriced, snotty waterfront restaurants with awful popular music. Living in Miami Beach, I itch to have a place like this that I can visit! I know that if I lived in Sanford or anywhere nearby, this would be my weekend watering hole. In fact, I am already planning my next visit up to Central Florida and hoping to treat myself to the Wolfy’s experience again.

The nostalgic maritime biker bar– do these two go together? Of course not-yet it happens. When the sun is up this place is great, by great I mean it’s by the marina and you can watch the boat races, talk with kind patrons and enjoy a cold one. All in the comforts of the sun and sub par(at best) food. At nighttime Wolfy’s is just like its name– a transformation. We’ve never been there at night. For starters there was an older couple(surprisingly) making out in the corner next to our table :), secondly we heard the sound of wings, I asked my so,“what do you think is in that little cupboard” soon enough we found out. A bat. So we moved to another table and tried to keep our mellow mood in tact. A little girl shouted, «there are cockroaches everywhere», when I looked on the floor it was like the scene from Indiana jones and the temple(Wolfy’s) of doom. Palmetto bugs, huge ones flying everywhere and when I turned on the light from my phone. We were done. My SO is an Iraqi Vet and he was grossed out– says a lot. Wolfy’s changes when the sun goes down, now all it needs is the full moon. I wish the food transformed as well, nope.

Haven’t been here for years(7 or 8) it may have been called something else before. Went here with my mom and my two kids on a Saturday around 7:30 p.m. Not crowded at all. Great location to watch boats and sunset. Servers were all super friendly and engaged with the kids as well. Sat in the screened in porch. Live band inside playing good music. Food came out quickly. Reuben, fish bites, mac n cheese bites and two kids meals. All were cooked well and hot out of the kitchen. We had a stroller we had to take down some stairs to get to the porch but I didn’t mind. I think this was a cool place. I would definitely come back minus the kids. Everyone there –staff and other patrons were in a great mood and all equally engaging each other. Only four stars because of very small menu with heavily fried food on it. Not a lot of non greasy fried options– which I totally don’t mind once in a while.

Great location right on the marina. Great burger. Homemade honey mustard sauce was lacking flavor. Server was very friendly, tats suggested she’s from Detroit. Kitchen was a little slow but food was hot and cooked to order correctly. Ate on the screened outdoor area and it was wonderful. Will definitely come back.

Apparently they just reopened. We found a huge interior with great views of the lake, plenty of seating and«country beach» décor. The food is standard lake bar stuff. Beer battered fish, chicken and of course gator bites, and the fries are done in fish batter which I loved. Only two beers on tap — Bud Light and Amberbock, which is a pity for a bar this size. Bottled beer situation is similarly limited with your usual suspects of domestics and imports in the beer cooler. Liquor selection is normal. None of this is to say it’s bad at all just don’t expect to find your favorite extra hop pale ale craft beer here or any sort of fancy epicurean beverages. Try the Corona with lime — they do it well. We were in on a Saturday evening. Nice crowd of mostly 40+ in age. Service was quick and attentive. Plenty of parking though it is a hike on foot to get to any other bars so probably not the place to start your pub crawl. Downtown Sanford bars are right down the street, so not bad in a car. Overall besides the view nothing jumped out at me, but that’s OK. It was still a nice evening. We even had an extra round just to see what the band would play next.
