People say they get tired of this place, yada yada. IDC what anyone says this place will always be my go-to burger joint. I love the ranch they serve and the fries are bomb! I always get a deluxe burger w no cheese, fries and ranch. I’ve probably been here a billion times. I’ve tried the habit burger, in n out, and various other places. Those places are all great, but they don’t serve the fries and ranch like they do @ big mamas! If you’re looking for bomb burgers that aren’t from mcdonalds, or some other generic fast food place then go here

My favorite place to eat in Sanger! I love the chocolate Boston shake, and the shrimp basket. The shrimp basket comes with fries, a salad, fried shrimp, and slice of bread. The employees are really nice, and they have a little tip jar by the register, too, so don’t forget to show them some love for working so hard to make great food! A great deal for the money, and delicious every time! Thanks Big Mamas! You guys are awesome.

While on my toy hunt, the MRs coworker suggested this place has the best shakes. The open time says 10am but nobody was there until 10:30! The delivery guy was there waiting before they showed up. Well I ordered the Vanilla Boston Shake, which was a milkshake with vanilla sundae on top and the MR had the strawberry milkshake. The flavors were less sweet than the artificial flavors of other fast food restaurants. As for vanilla, it was kind of bland to me. I also had the Texas bacon burger… which basically was a bacon cheeseburger with bbq sauce. It was nice to try but not on my list for places I’d go often.

A nice gem in this little town. Well loved by locals and visitors alike. Definitely a dive, no frills here. Big Mama’s is a little old house. They take your order from a little window and you wait outside. Half of the folks ate there and the other half to go. There’s plenty of shaded seating but only one trash can! Greeted with a smile even though she was very busy, the cashier was patient as we placed our order. It took a little bit to get our order: 3 burgers, fries, onion rings, a soda and shake. Everything was made to order which made it worth it. No order was too large for them! The hot foods were hot and the beverages were cold. We had paid for a Boston shake which we didn’t get. I took it back and it was replaced on the spot. As we waited, chatted with one of the friendly, old time locals who shared how Big Mama’s and the Chuck Wagon(another local fave) have evolved over the years. The food was very tasty! I especially liked the old school crinkle cut fries which were crispy and nicely seasoned. Yup, the onion rings with ranch. Everything with ranch! We were stuffed! Extra napkins please! The prices are moderate and becoming competitive with the national fast food chains however. They need to update their menu board. The prices have gone up since the last Unilocaler posted a photo of it. The specials are still about the same, like their 2fers. The place would be even more top notch if they had the extra help. The«Help Wanted» sign looked like it’d been up there for awhile. Was worth the ½ hour drive from north Fresno!

Pretty decent place but I have to say unless they’re closed I have no idea why anyone would go here instead of Chuckwagon.

Big mamas is my guilty pleasure when I’m in Sanger. I like that it’s hot and fresh when I get order it.(Hate cold food) Love the shakes and ice cream for dessert or with the burgers. Yum!

Best thing about big mama’s is the prices but food is not that good. Like that saying, «you get what you pay for.» I used to go often but got tired of the food being so poor and nothing special. Burgers are not tasty and seems to be done in a way that a school cafeteria may cook it.

This was my second time in Sanger. I was meeting buddies from the skate park, and I needed something to eat. When one asked what I wanted to eat, I replied that I wanted burgers. Usually, it’s tacos or burgers or pizza, and I’d already had pizza in town. He replied Big Mamas, and I thought about a movie with a 400 pound woman running a house of ill repute, not a burger joint. When we arrived, it seemed as if it was in transition. The parking lot was the most stable-looking part of the place. Still, I’ve eaten at a number of hole-in-the-wall places and it didn’t bother me. I needed a restroom, as the trip from Bakersfield had been almost 2 hours – about 30 minutes from SR99 to Sanger. My buddy said that the restroom was in the back. I went there and it was locked. I asked for the key to the restroom, and we ordered. I was told that there was no public restroom. I was a customer, though. After paying and another request, the counter person talked to someone else, and returned to tell me to meet her around back. They unlocked the door, requesting that I re-lock it. It took a while for the order. I ordered a #4 combo – the fish sandwich, fries, and drink. My companions ordered 3 Boston shakes and an iced tea. The fish sandwich, without tartar sauce, was great. The fries were okay. There was a lot of ice in the drink. There was only a $ 1.00 difference between the small and large shakes but the large shakes were way too much.

Came over to see what the big hubbub was and I’m sad to say I was a bit disappointed. Their burgers aren’t really that great, they taste rather bland and at times, generic. I did however enjoy their Boston shakes.

What can I say, Big Mama’s it’s one of those home town places to eat at. They have a lot of things to choose from and everything is a a good price. Its hard to beat their $ 2 for $ 2 burgers and I think they have the best french fries in town. And they make a good milk shake as well. There are times when you might have to wait in line for 10 mins or so but what you get for the price is hard to beat. I have been coming here for years even before they moved. I do miss being able to go in and dine but i still like the food. And you can always call in a order to be picked up

Really bad service. I called and order was told to come in10 mins. By the time I arrived they didn’t have my order ready. They told me they don’t make your food til u get there. Ok then what’s the point of ordering first on the phone? Anyway I was patiently waiting for it. And while I was waiting there were others ordering after me. Those people that ordered after me got their food before I did. So I went up to counter and asked what was taking so long for mine? She told me my corn dogs takes longer time. So I told her forget my order of corn dogs. Just give me the money back and my burgers. So anyway my dogs were ready and now I have to wait for my burgers. Let me remind u I have been waiting for 30 mins. This is fast food. first time going there never going back there anymore. Greasy food and bad customer service. Oh yeah the double Texas bacon burgers we order were dry and got no flavor.

Not bad at all. Not«the best ever» that everyone is raving about but I like it more than Chuck Wagon. I also like it more than other fast food restaurants. Great prices as well. Will definitely go again.

Great food cheap price but there is no advantage to calling in because as soon as you get there they will start making your food so its first come first serve. If they had it to where you order and they make it at that time I would give it 5 stars

I drove into town with my girlfriend to meet up with one of our friends. I’ve passed through Sanger before, but I’ve never really stayed around to try some local food spots. Upon hearing this, my friend immediately recommended Big Mama, and I was very glad that he did. The restaurant is quite literally a house, and the food feels like a family meal. My girlfriend had a Tiny Burger, I had the corn dogs, and our friend had burritos. The food was good, but what really impressed me what the atmosphere. It really felt like we were hanging out a friend’s backyard with food like back in the day. Great place, I can’t wait to come back.

I lived in Sanger for a short time, and there aren’t many places to choose from. But this little gem was one of my favorites. Anyway, moved out of Sanger, got preggers and had an immense craving for Big Mamas. Finally drove out to get some. What you should know; It’s affordable! It’s tasty! You have to have a Boston shake. If you want a burger, it’s better than a fast food chain. I was really sad they stopped serving the fried mushrooms, but maybe that’s a good thing since they’re super fattening. They aren’t super fast, but that just means they’re making it all as you order. And the jalepeno poppers are pre-made. Probably from the box… But they’re still good. If you’re in town, and you don’t want Dicicco’s(the only other good place to eat) then hit Big Mamas.

After being away from this place for a while since a moved, I had to visit. The food is still good and you can’t beat the Boston Shake. If you only get one thing from here, I highly recommend the Banana Boston Shake. Made with fresh bananas, topped with whip cream, chocolate syrup, peanuts and a cherry on top.(Drooooool) The food is equality good. Grab some seasoned fries, any burger, soda with crushed ice and you’re set! Anyone from out of this area would like this little hole in the wall spot.

Big Mama’s is THE fast food spot to visit if you’re anywhere near Sanger or Reedley, California. They carry a variety of fast food favorites including burgers, burritos, corn dogs, chicken strips, fries, jalapeño poppers and shakes. Locals in the know go there for the best deals — 2 corn dogs or 2 burritos for $.99 or 2 deluxe burgers $ 2.00(they all seem to refer to this as the 2 for 2). It was definitely a fast food burger, but with a lot of shredded lettuce, fresh tomato slices, and pickles. It’s not the absolute best burger I’ve ever had, but it was pretty darn good for a fast food burger and a bargain at that price. I had a spirited discussion with the friend I went with about whether or not it was better than an In-n-Out Burger; She said yes — I said no. The jalapeño poppers were crispy golden brown with not a hint of grease. Be careful, though, on my first bite the creamy cheesy filling ‘popped’ out and burnt the inside of my lip. Take a tip from me and let them cool off a little first! The fries were crispy crinkle cut and just starting to brown on the edges. No grease here, either, and the large size fries is HUGE — definitely enough for two people to share. The large(32 oz) sodas were $.99 each. We didn’t order the milkshakes but were intrigued by the fact that there were regular milkshakes and Boston milkshakes. We asked the person working the counter who said that the Boston milkshakes were ½ milkshake and ½ sundae. Someone else will have to check these out for me. Currently, the only seating is outdoors at the picnic tables but they are at least covered.
