A very nice family owned and operated winery nestled in Tivy Valley. The owner, Greg, is a surfer from Southern California and even has a longboard hanging on the wall of the tasting room. As soon as I saw this I knew Greg and I would get along just fine. There’s something about a surfboard hanging on a wall that gives a room a great vibe. I enjoy all their wines but my favorites are the Tres Amores, 2004 Syrah, Magnum and their latest port is amazing. Also worth mentioning is the Ranch Red, which has a nice bite and is priced at only $ 10.00. During our last visit I left with one case and three separates. Greg is very generous with his pours and will allow you to revisit anything you desire. Another thing I really like about the winery is they are dog friendly. They have two sweet Dalmatians and another giant teddy bear dog named Magnum. During the Summer you can bring your dog and sip wine on their beautiful porch that overlooks a giant yard and glowing vineyard. It has become our family tradition to visit the Tivy Mountain Vintners after a long day of fishing and some traditions should not be broken. Cheers

What a great first time wine tasting! The other day, my boyfriend, his mother, and I went to Tivy Mountain. When we were driving in, we were greeted by the owners two dalmations(it is their signature picture on all their bottles). They are the most friendly dalmations I have ever met(and very calm). We arrived at about 12:30 in the afternoon. When we walked up to the porch, their«Will return at 12:00» sign was still on, making us believe it was closed. But we called and they told us to walk in. There was another couple in there enjoying their drinks, but we just walked right up and started tasting. The place is a very homey and warm atmosphere. They also have little gifts and clothes that you can purchase if you desire. They have an outside patio where you can sit, but being mid-February, inside was definately the better option. Of course, I know nothing about wine, so my boyfriend and Greg(the owner) did most of the talking. But all of the wines were wonderful! I think the Tres Amores was my favorite. And as an added bonus, there is no fee for tasting(although it is expected that you buy wine afterwards). We walked away with 15 bottles! If you are in the area, it is a place you must stop at! Enjoy :)

Had a lovely time tasting with my husband over the weekend, especially since we had no idea this winery was even there! Their tasting room is cozy and comfortable. We sat at a huge table with a few other couples and the man pouring, meandering our way through the tasting list. And their pours were quite generous! We sat for over an hour just enjoying conversation and wine, it was one of the most relaxed and enjoyable tastings I’ve been to. Our favorite wines were the Primitivo and the Late Harvest Viognier, but we enjoyed almost everything we tasted. And NOTASTINGFEES! Their wines are all grown and bottled on site, which I find to be a big plus. And there’s two dalmations and a Great Pyranees wandering around calmly, I love winery dogs! When we were leaving, we commented on how beautiful their patio was, and were told to bring a picnic lunch next time and buy a bottle and sit out and enjoy! Can’t wait!

The wines are still great; Greg will treat you right. Think we tasted 8 wines and we could have tasted more, but had to get back to Fresno for dinner. His reds are awesome; syrah, primitivo, cab/syrah. GO!!!
