Anchor Inn of Sanibel Island

Very adequate, clean and pet friendly. The staff were very nice and helpful. Property is well located for dining, shopping, entertainment, etc.

This is a nice comfy place m stopped in for the night to surprise someone for dinner at Doc Ford’s. Paid $ 108 taxes included for king room on a weeks notice. Got room 16. Linda in the office is very nice and informative. There’s horseshoe, tether ball, bikini ring game on premises. You can also rent a bike. There’s a few grills around the pool and a freshwater pond in back. Okay I would like to say that dusting the paddle fan, baseboard, tops of mirror and other surfaces like that are part of cleaning. Ron the keeper of the room c’mon. Do it right. Shower was a 7 of 10 on clean. I do like this property. Its not fancy or pristine. They have 2 bedroom cottages with sleeper sofa that can sleep 6. I will stay here again. I usually stay at the West wind inn on longer stays. Bed is not good for jumping. Its should be updated.

If you are looking for a place to stay while in Sanibel Island that is affordable with major charm then Anchor Inn is the place for you. We loved this place. It is conveniently located in walking distance from some awesome restaurants and is just a short walk to the beach.
They offer several types of lodging, including one bedroom rooms, efficiencies and the larger cottages. They are a bit older but thats what made it quaint. Our room had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in it, a comfy bed and a new flat screen tv. The only small problem we had was sugar ants in the bathroom sink, but that really didn’t keep us from having a great time. The rooms were also very quiet which was a good thing since they are dog friendly. And if you have a dog with slight anxiety like we do, thick walls keep the neighbors form hearing any barking.
They have a small pool and barbecue area if you want to swim and cook out instead of hitting the beach up.
The staff was very friendly and after noticing that we got a little bit more sun than we wanted that they have beach umbrellas available for use. We brought our own, but they also supply beach chairs. They also rent bicycles to enjoy on the 30 mile bike path right outside the inn.
All in all, we loved it here and plan on staying again when in Sanibel.

I love this place! Great location, cute rooms, pretty affordable for Sanibel. It’s easy walking distance from some good restaurants, the beach, A convenience/​liquor store, has a fridge, coffee maker and utensils. What more do you need? Is it super fancy? No, but for the price, it’s great. We stay here whenever we come down to Sanibel, and have always had a good experience here.

Really cute, tidy, old-​style, convenient, helpful nice folks. Kitchenette adorable, nice newish TV with plenty of cable if it rains! Moderately priced for Sanibel, which is insanely expensive as a rule. We enjoyed our stay, and would probably go back there unless we wanted to stay in a remoter part of the island. Anchor Inn is quiet but convenient to many things, best of all worlds. Microwave did not work for us (?) but we didn’t need it anyway. Little garden area in back is just beautiful, watch your pets around the gators, warned a sign. LOL. We kept our eyes peeled but didn’t see any. Only one star less because of the microwave, the strange strong carrion smell outside (was there pest killing going on at the time?) and pain in the butt door key. Would recommend!

Clean, friendly, comfortable place… our second year staying their and love it.

We really enjoyed this place. Reminded us of the way things USED to be. Nice-​sized room with two big beds, little kitchen area with stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster. Outdoor heated pool was very nice, and we loved the always-​available shuffleboard, horseshoes and bicycles. Rode all over the island! Housekeeping doesn’t come into your room at all once you check in, but they do swap out towels every day if you want them to. Super, super nice folks.

Loved this place, we stayed in a room, but next time we hope to get a cottage because they were pretty cool…

Loved our stay here, as a native Floridian who has lived in Miami all my life this aw a breath of fresh air to see old Floria still exists. The Keys used to be like this before the chains have overtaken it. Wish we could have stayed longer, our room had all we needed, clean, comfortable accommodation with a small kitchenette. Quiet and peaceful, the owners thought of everything you could need, pool, hot tub, picnic tables, BBQ. It was so refreshing not to see one BK or McDonalds in sight.

Had a great time. Rented the A frame cottage. Small area and don’t recommend for more than two adults and two children. Wall air conditioners are sufficient to cool the house in the summertime. Pool was clean. Shuffle board and horseshoe games were complete and fun. Our cottage was close to drive or bike anywhere on the island. Fresh towels every morning and staff was friendly. Shower was tiny, but good enough to get clean. Overall, we were happy to visit Sanibel and stay here. Would stay here again if we return next year. Our dog, liked it too!
