What a horrible experience while on vacation. The teenage girl behind the register was extremely rude. We were going to eat in and order food but we were so upset our family just ordered donuts and left. Management should really do something about this employee. It was a shame because the donuts are A+. We would have loved to try the food.

We had breakfast, lunch, and donuts here. Everything was fresh and tasty. Definitely can recommend the lobster roll. The coffee was also tasty. We did iced mocha. It was less sweet than Starbucks, but had a rich, roasted flavor.

Walked to this place from our condo on the island. It’s a pretty small place but it was too busy on a Monday morning. We ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice, hazelnut latte, Boston crème donut, orange coconut donut, and glazed donut. I liked the Boston crème but if I went back I would probably just get the glazed. It was perfectly done and I like the simplicity. Our waitress was okay — the donuts are the reason to visit though.

I couldn’t eat any of the delicious-looking doughnuts because Im gluten free, but it was a great cuppa coffee and great company. I’d definitely go back again.

Out of donuts we wanted so ordered fruit. Yuck, a bowl of rinds with yogurt on top. Told waitress, she said sorry and comped it, but dont believe the hype about this place. And who only puts sprinkles on half a donut? You call it artsy, I call it cheap! Oh and our bottomless cups of coffee, never refilled, not even once.

Was excited to come here for brunch. I saw on their website that they had soy which is great seeing as on my road trip down through the south they didn’t even have milk as an option for my coffee. They had a take out counter but they also had seating inside and outside. There were several people with their laptops out so it seems like a good place to sit and sip on coffee for a while. They offer bottomless coffee. The dark roast didn’t taste as dark, seemed light but that was the story for every dark roast coffee we ordered on the way down. First visit, I ordered a Cobb Salad and decided to try their chili dog. I was surprised at how underwhelmed I was with the chili dog. Didn’t love the sweet donut bread with the savoury topping. The chili was more like cooked ground beef, not like regular chili. The Cobb salad was fantastic! It was so fresh and beautifully plated. I would definitely order it again. Came for a second visit before heading out for our road trip. The donuts were very tasty. I loved the airy light donut. Very fresh. Also tried their biscoff latte with soy. It was delicious. Just don’t let it sit too long or all the sweetness of the latte will settle at the bottom. Will definitely be coming back to try other options when I come down to Sanibel Island again.

Homemade doughnuts people — Early bird gets the worm, cause they go fast! I have had the pleasure of downing more than a couple hot doughnuts from this place. They’re terrific. The lines can be annoying, but totally worth the wait. If you get there past 9 am, good luck finding any pastries left. Nice place — well kept, and the restrooms are clean. You can also get breakfast, though I’ve never had it.

Donuts are good but the sit down service was terrible. We sat for ten minutes before we were even greeted. The server was not apologetic in the least. Then we ordered donuts and it took her so long to grab them that they were gone(ran out), so we only got one of the four we ordered. Next time it’s take out for sure

My dad’s seatmate on the plane down to Captiva told him about Bennett’s Fresh donuts. She said that it was the BEST place for donuts in the Ft. Myers metro — who could pass up that challenge?!? I’ve learned the hard way — when a place known for amazing donuts cooks fresh in the morning and opens early, you get there early or pay the price of settling for leftover selection. Not happening here — I showed up within half an hour of the door unlocking to a well-kept, very clean, modern coffee/breakfast/donut joint. My heart was made happy at the sight of a chock-full donut case!!! I was shopping for 5 adults(one who can eat like three adults!) and three kids, so the order was for two dozen. Among our favorites were the Maple Toffee Crunch, Maple Walnut, Peanut Butter(with chocolate!), Orange Crunch and Chocolate Chip. The kids shared Strawberry Iced with Sprinkles and Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles. EXCELLENT reviews, all around. All examples were perfectly fried, generously iced(in a GOOD way!), and the flavor combinations(Maple Bacon! Almond Coconut!) were spot-on. I can think of only ONE donut shop that does it better, and it’s nowhere near Ft. Myers. Why the 4-star rating? Value alone dings this place, if just a smidge. $ 45 for two dozen donuts is on the high side of what I expect to pay, even for artisan donuts. I would technically give a 4.5-star rating, but can’t give the ½, so am rounding down to allay any fears of sensationalism. Keep up the great work, Bennett’s!

As we were walking up, my boyfriend and I saw an employee carrying an elderly man’s food to his car. So sweet. There aren’t too many things on the breakfast menu, but we ordered breakfast sandwiches on flat bread and they were gorgeous. We grabbed donuts on the way out. Haven’t tried them yet, but the owner said he could put his daughter through college on the money he makes from the maple bacon donut alone, so I imagine they’re pretty good! Friendly, cute place, can’t wait to go back for gelato. Update: the maple bacon donut is so good it should be illegal. Update: we went for breakfast at Bennett’s every day we were in Sanibel because we like it so much. The strata is delicious and the employees are great. Keagan(spelling?) is sweet and genuinely excited to be there. One of the owners, Frankie is always helping customers or cleaning up tables. Love this place!

This place gets a 4.5 just on variety and uniqueness. I’ve come here perhaps 3 times and it’s definitely a treat for me. I run down McGregor on the weekends and we pass this darn donut shop every Sunday and I have to make it a point to come get one after a run bc they’re pretty delicious when fresh. I got 5 donuts the other day for my family and a guest and took it home. They all liked the look of the donuts and size. The donuts don’t do well with time I felt so fresh in the store would be the way to go. I had the bacon maple, glazed, cinnamon sugar, almond coconut, and the s’mores one. I think maybe the glazed or the almond coconut were my favorite out of that batch. I dig it.

Decent donut selection with many unique island flavor such as orange cream. French press coffee to go was a first and very strong and delicious . However it seemed they only made yeast donuts, so no plain cinnamon . Muffins were fresh and tasty and the cranberries in the sweet orange muffin were tart. Egg sandwich lacked everything. The sandwich was on a flat bread toasted something — unappealing and dry . Bacon on the donuts but not on breakfast sandwich . Service was a bit disorganized. We will have to pass this place next time.

Friendly staff let me know that if kids read a book from one of the many they have by the door, they get a free donut. Righteous! Creative donut flavors done right! Awesome coffee and they know how to make coffee! If you are serious about your brew, please stop here! None of that bottom of the barrel Denny’s crap like most diners. Even have a French press pot if you’re dining in. Donuts are the star of the show however and that’s even after I tasted the best americano I’ve had, ever. Creative lunch menu that’d be interested to try. My daughter says«out of five stars, they get 100 for the donuts alone.» Hell, I’d agree. Look, food and place was so nice I ate here twice. Had to come back for lunch to try the Bennett’s Dog. Usually I don’t go for«novelty food» like this but it just sounded too rad. Best hot dog I’ve ever had hands down. Bennet’s nails it.

I am not a huge fan of donuts but I LOVE these donuts. So if you like to try unique flavors or just have fresh donuty goodness then this is one to put on your list to try. You must get there early to get the most popular flavors like the peanut butter ones that I am obsessed with. The breakfast sandwiches and souffles are a great choice for those who want more than just carbs for breakfast. The coffee is great and the service can be hit or miss. I agree with other reviewers about the odd setup of the counter. It is not clear where you need to order at. So since you are smart and Unilocaling before you go you will not be confused — just walk in and go to the right then walk to the center register to pay! This place can get ridiculously busy especially during Season, so keep that in mind and if you are not in a hurry it will be worth the wait!

I was here every morning for donuts and coffee. There ya go. Need a bit more in-depth? The donuts here are top notch. They cover a pretty wide range of sweet to savory, with some interesting ones tossed in. Maple toffee, orange coconut, and chocolate peanut butter were my personal top three. The wife loved her raspberry almond donuts I had to bring home for her every morning. And yes you hipsters, they have maple bacon. No cake donuts, though. Good iced coffee, with free refill. It’s a light, bright roast with a nice palette-cleansing acidity. Orange juice comes pre-bottled, like Tropicana or whatever. Great customer service as well — I had a bit of a payment snafu and they were totally helpful with it. Within walking/biking distance from most of the resorts, so it makes for a nice morning vacation ritual. Definitely worth a stop here.

These donuts are very good– good sized and with that just so crisp crust and a soft inside. The icing is sweet and pairs perfectly with their coffee. When you dine in you can take advantage of free coffee refills. Kids who read a book during the summer at their little book nook receive a free donut on the spot! They even have donut shaped pillows for the kids– how cute! We dined in on our last morning on the island. We seated ourselves and were served rather quickly. We ordered a selection of «real» food as well as rounds of donuts. They do have a limited number of hot menu offerings like breakfast sandwiches and breakfast casseroles. My sandwich was good but rather small. The flavors were all rich though. I tried the iced cinnamon roll as well as the raspberry filled almond iced donut. Yum! They were both good in different ways. The raspberry may have been my favorite as the filling was ample and it had a nice tang to it. It was delicious with the almond flavored icing. A couple of minor complaints. The music played in the dining room was obnoxious. You’d think they’d have some elegant background music but it was this awful vocal monstrosity. I couldn’t imagine trying to read or do work with that playing. Also, they only had two high chairs in the whole place. They were occupied the entire time we were there and other kids were needing them. One of the owners did come by and chatted with us briefly, it was interesting hearing his story of how the business evolved. I would absolutely make this a regular stop when in Sanibel. The only reason they do not earn 5 stars would be because they just do not hold a candle to Donut King in Orlando/Minneola. We hold all donuts to this high standard and both hubby and I agreed, although Bennett’s are darn good they are no Donut King!

I will begin by saying this: THEIRDOUGHNUTSDONOTAGEWELL. After trying their amazing doughnuts, we purchased a dozen and a half, only to throw them out. Thats almost $ 40 wasted. We had a good experience while visiting this location. Some of our favorites: bacon doughnut, orange doughnut. The breakfast sandwiches and coffee were also good. Service was semi-good, waiter was polite, did get one of our orders wrong and did not remove from bill, so that sort of killed it. After having such good food, we made purchases to take home to our friends. We should have realized that, because there are no preservatives, they do not hold well, but we didn’t. We bought on impulse. I do wish we would have been told how to care for them after purchase(refrigerate, eat sooner, etc). I called and was told that they only last 18 hours. :( Enjoy them there, but don’t bother to take anything«to-go», is my advice.
