Located inside 4th Street Market, KTCHN dtsa is one of the many food options you can choose from. When walking in, it’s the first food place that you’ll see and they offer a variety of salads, burgers, and burrito options. I decided to pick the breakfast burrito since it was about 11:45 am and I was craving something meaty and hearty. The breakfast burrito includes scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, pico de gallo, chile verde pork, Serrano cream and jalapeño aioli. The burrito took awhile to make(about 15 – 20 minutes). Overall the burrito was very fulfilling but you couldn’t really taste the jalapeño aioli so there was no spice. The crispy potatoes was the winner in the burrito that gave it a unique twist. The burrito was $ 9.72 including tax which may be on the pricey side for some people.

1. Friendly and«real» staff ! They seemed really down to earth and follow up with you to make sure you enjoyed the food: D 2. The meal was great! Large portion and very flavorful the chilaquilles tasted like my mommas but maybe a little better ! 3. The potatoes are the only reason I’m giving 4 stars out of 5. I’m a potato person and I love them all kinds of ways and I felt like they were a little over friend which caused the inside to be dried. It was a little too crunchy to enjoy and they lacked a little flavor ! So there you have it ! Great staff … Great food… Price is not bad at all for the amount of food you get ! … I had left overs

Its become routine for me and my brother to drop my sister off at barnes and noble every Saturday mornings now right before we decide to grab breakfast at 4th Street Market. On todays menu is KTCHN Dtsa. Its one of the few places that open up quite early there. Came through and picked up the lumbar jack and a chicken wrap. The lumbar jack was very tasty. There was a lot happening with it. There was pork belly strip, eggs, potatoes, and well that’s about it but damn its delicious! The eggs were very zesty and the giant strip of pork belly was the ultimate compliment. The potatoes were so good too. The chicken wrap was just ok. It was a bit messy to eat but there were lots of flavors. The chicken was cooked well and overall it was good though I probably wont be ordering that again. Overall I really like the food. Its tasty and delicious. The service was quick and efficient. Its one of the few places in 4th Street I would consider trying again.

The Mediterranean style crispy potatoes are bomb. The pulled pork and egg was delicious, however, the chilaquiles was a little overwhelming with excess fried tortilla

Their breakfast burrito is so bomb!!! Luckily me and my husband split it because that was the biggest burrito and the ABSOLUTEBEST breakfast burrito we’ve ever had!!! The chile pork was so tender, eggs cooked perfectly, the pico inside and sauce was so delish! Their chile verde sauce goes well with the burrito and the mango hot sauce has a really big burn so watch out but it’s soooooo good!!! We will definitely be back!

The chilaquiles was soooo tasty. The chips were covered in this red chili sauce and they were actually still a bit crunchy! Most chilaquiles I’ve had the chips always get wayy to chewy and soggy. The fried eggs on top needed to be cooked a littttle bit longer but all in all the flavors were seriously dynamite. My bfs breakfast burrito was the size of my baby! Massive portions here and you def get what you pay for. So good and cant wait to come back

Great go– to breakfast spot. You order at the window and food comes out fast. Not too many vegetarian menu items in itself since most of he items come with pork, but so far I’ve tried the chilaquiles and the scrambowl. The scrambowl is a design your own style menu item in which you just check off the vegetables, meat and cheese you want in your scrambled egg, layered over some breakfast potatoes. They have their own house sauces that I definitely recommend trying. This place is one you’ll want to keep coming back to!

Came here after hearing about brunch at 4th street market in downtown Santa Ana! Safe to say I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered the Scrambowl so I got to choose the ingredients I wanted with my eggs. The best part is that you can choose up to 3 meats! It’s basically perfect for anyone who is as indecisive as me. It also comes with potatoes and arugula. The plating is simple, the potatoes are at the bottom and then your eggs and then the arugula with a vinaigrette on top. My favorite part was the arugula salad. I’m not sure what dressing they have but it was so good! As for the eggs, I thought it was a little expensive($ 2) to make it egg whites but besides that there was a good proportion of food. I wasn’t that big of a fan of the potatoes at the bottom just because I think it made the whole dish a little too salty for my taste. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. There are plenty of seating, indoors and outdoors. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes grand central market downtown or Anaheim packing house!

I ordered the Pulled Pork and Egg breakfast sandwich priced at $ 8.95. KTCHN dtsa is located in the group of small over the counter restaurants located at the 4th Street Market in downtown Santa Ana or as the locals call it DTSA. The sandwich was advertised to come with smoked pork, bbq sauce, jalapeño slaw, bleu cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds, toasted bread topped with a fried egg. It was an open faced sandwich. The pulled pork was nice and moist and plenty of it. But, disappointingly, the pork flavor did not stand out which I was hoping. I think that it would have helped to have a little more acid in the sandwich. Perhaps, that was the purpose of the slaw which had no distinctive flavor, including a jalapeño flavor(as advertised), and came out like a big pile of shredded red cabbage with no distinct flavors. There was a very slight flavor of bleu cheese. I really could not taste any BBQ sauce which I did not mind because I was hoping that the pork flavor stood out which it did not. The one saving grace was that the fried egg was nicely cooked sunny side up and when you pierced the nice runny yolk, it dripped and seeped into the rest of the sandwich which I absolutely love. I gave the sandwich 3 stars because the pork which should have been the star of the show did not stand out.

Went here on New Year’s Day for breakfast and it was pretty slow(which was nice). I got the BLT-E and my boyfriend got the breakfast burrito. My sandwich was fresh tasting and hit the spot! The house made bacon was thick and crispy and so delicious! I had to eat it with a knife and fork though because it was pretty thick but tasty nonetheless. My boyfriend enjoyed his burrito but it was pretty rich so he had to slow down about half way through it. Almost everything is under $ 10 bucks and the food is pretty filling so I thought I was well worth it’s price! Overall, really satisfying!

KTCHN is eclectic and interesting, and their menu looks like a list of something I would come up with if I were to open such a place. No boredom allowed here. This is an order at the counter and go sit and wait in a public indoor space kind of place. I opted for the pork belly dish, and my wife the chilaquiles. Actually I ordered both, as they are two of my favorite things to make at home. We found a counter and some stools near KTCHN so we could hear my name being called when the food was ready, which took about eight minutes or so. We were enjoying a nice draft from Recess, which went great with the food, when our order was up. The chilaquiles: I read about these from some food(not Unilocal) review, so my expectations were pretty high. What makes this dish unique is the preparation of the chips themselves. These appear to be simply dipped in a sauce made of dried peppers, perhaps ancho, New Mexican, California, maybe guajillo, and let soak just enough to abate the crunch, and the excess shaken off. It’s a spot on textural thing that I really enjoyed. The sauce is a deep, dark brick red, and is earthy tasting, and smoothly textured. The sauce serves as a mere coating for the chips, and is very evenly done. This is drizzled with crema, and sprinkled with a little cilantro and a few pumpkin seeds, which actually do a lot to elevate the flavors. Atop all of this sit two sunny eggs, which is the only part of the dish I had qualms with. The eggs, even the whites, were all set. To get this on sunny eggs, the bottom gets really bound up, and is hard to cut through, especially with the plastic utensils. Also, the yolks were too hard on the bottom, so only the top half ran. I will ask for over easy next time if that is permissible. Overall a solid version of chilaquiles, but by no means the best I’ve had.
The lumberjack: Another all-around good dish with the same complaint. Those eggs again. Just not my style. Good looking though. This is served with a thick cut of bacon, maybe half an inch thick or so, two sunny eggs, some very nice, light, tasty toast, and the star of the show, a lovely pile of acidic arugula. All very nice components, and even better together, this is a well thought out dish. I wouldn’t however, consider the pork as pork belly. I know it is, technically, but the brininess, texture, and color of the pork screams bacon. Not a tender braised belly. A slab of bacon. But bacon is good too. Like regular bacon, you really need to pick it up with your bare hands to take a bite. The tines on my plastic fork were no match. KTCHN, perhaps the perfect late night after drinking stopover, in the heart of DTSA.

+ Simple menu, nice variety too + Service was friendly + Food tasted great +/-Prices may be a bit ‘high’ for some, I just see it as paying for good, fresh food It was my first time here at the 4th St Market in Santa Ana and I was in there to have some breakfast. There was this spot and another that was open at the time, I decided to swing along to this one here. I really wanted to try their Chilaquiles, but that sold out before I was able to make my order. So in turn, I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich instead. Which was pretty good, and went down well with the root bear they have selling there. Overall, nothing that really stood out to me, but surely I’d go again to try something else on their menu and update my review. :)

Located inside the 4th street market, this spot does breakfast right! Came by here right after getting my coffee fix at Hopper & Burr, which is way better than Portola, IMO. Right, so, food talk. BLT-E $ 10(5⁄5) Thick slabs of pork belly, fried egg, burrata, tomato, arugula, and mayo sandwiched between two slices of homemade bread. I legitimately inhaled this sandwich in 2 minutes. Lumberjack $ 9(4⁄5) Perfect sunny side up, 2 thick slabs of pork belly, fried hashbrown potato balls(some well cooked, some overcooked, and some raw), and thick cut bread. It came with a side of arugula. This is pretty much a deconstructed BLT-E. Friendly service, but prices a bit high, so minus one star. Overall, a good spot for breakfast.

What a great breakfast! There are quite a few choice in the breakfast arena in DTSA(Downtown Santa Ana), but you can’t go wrong going to KTCHN My wife knows me well, she got me the Lumberjack«Egg, Pork Belly, Potatoes & Toast. First of, they know how to cook their eggs here. A perfect, I mean perfect Sunny side up egg. Then the pork belly comes into play. A thick slab of bacon if you will. It was so so good. I love pork and pork lovers will not be disappointed with this one. The bread was thick cut and super good. Yum. I’m not a potato person, but those were really good, seasoned properly and crunchy outside. Delicious! Get this one. My wife went with the Custom Egg White Omelet w/Goat Cheese, Mushroom, Pulled Pork, Caramelized Onion, Tomato & Arugula. I have to confess, I stole some of my wife’s meal. She wasn’t going to share and the one taste she gave me was not enough for me. I ended up taking a fourth of it and gobbled it up when she went to get milk for the boy, hahaha(don’t worry, I shared my pork belly with her, she loved it as well, lol) That omelet was ridiculously good. Everything I would want on a plate was on this omelet. Everything worked together. It was sweet, salty, tangy, bitter, savory, Yum Yum Yum. It was a flavor explosion that satisfied, enough said. GETTHISONE. Service was friendly and very very helpful. Price is reasonable IMO If you’re in DTSA, you have to try KTCHN. They might be missing all the vowels, but they certainly are not missing anything in the flavor and taste category. I highly recommend giving this place a try. 2015 Review #145

Mmmmm that perfectly cooked egg though… a necessity for any yummy breakfast! While the rest of the 4th Street Market is still slowly waking up(besides Portola), KTCHN dtsa definitely is the early bird that gets the worm since they were the only ones opened Saturday morning! I gravitated towards the Pulled Pork and Egg while my friend wanted to try the Corned Beef… both were delicious! The slaw in the pulled pork open faced sandwich had bits of spiciness that would kick in at the right times, pairing perfectly with the tangy BBQ sauce on the side. With little bits of gorgonzola sprinkled here and there, it gave a nice creaminess that wasn’t too heavy since it’s actually a pretty strong cheese. Overall, I really enjoyed it! It didn’t give me any major food coma even though it was definitely hearty. Next time, I’d want to try making my own ScramBowl!

Breakfast for dinner! If you’re looking for some comfort food, something to warm your belly, then KTCHN dtsa is your man. I was initially told about a dish of theirs that had the thickest slab of bacon they’ve ever seen served. Naturally, I ordered it. Lumber Jack — Literally almost an inch thick of bacon served with 2 eggs(your way), tater tots and toast. They also give you a handful of arugula so what I did was I broke the yolk and soaked it onto the arugula and paired it with a bite of bacon. Their bacon’s texture was perfect, not overcooked and extremely juicy. It’s a hearty dish so come hungry. Scrambowl — A good bowl of scrambled eggs served with potatoes and arugula. It’s basically like the Lumber Jack without the bacon. Another great dish but skippable if you’re getting the Lumber Jack. KTCHN dtsa is probably the best shop on this side of 4th St Market. Who doesn’t like breakfast for dinner?!

Food is not very good, and kinda pricey. Service is ok, mediocre. Came here one night for quick grub before bar hopping in DTSA. Ordered one of those eggie dishes with a side of parmesan potatoes. The fried egg thing was ok, too much of this mayonnaise based sauce dripped all over the dish. The potatoes were over fried, hard, and had a hard center, really difficult to eat and super dry. We had one bite each and left the rest. I rarely throw away food, so that was pretty bad. The girl working the front was not very nice, and a bit impatient when we were ordering. Couldn’t even find any utensils, so had to go next door to another eatery to get some.

Anything with a fried egg is good. Add some good ingredients and thick crusty on the outside soft on the inside toast and it’s really good. PARKING: It’s at 4th street market. Weekends the gates are usually up in the structure on 5th street so we didn’t have to pay. WAIT: Came at noon on Saturday and there was no one else in line. After ordering it probably took about 5 minutes or so for the food to come out. They call your name and you pick it up. FOOD: They have sandwiches, open faced sandwiches and other egg dishes. BBQCHICKENOPENFACEDSANDWICH: It’s a thick brioche type toast(almost like brick toast) topped with greens(arugula?), crumbled aged cheddar, the shredded bbq chicken, fried onions and the fried egg. Definitely get a fork and knife to eat this. The bread was so good, slightly sweet and crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside. The crumbled aged cheddar was perfect with the sweet bbq sauce. There actually isn’t that much chicken. The egg was slightly runny but perfect to top off your sandwich. CRISPYPOTATOES: definitely worth getting. They are thick cut potato wedges that are baked in an oven and crispy on the outside. With minimal seasonings it’s a perfect addition to the sandwich. The smaller potato pieces are extra crispy like french fries. So good! Overall, definitely worth going here especially if you like fried eggs on your sandwiches.

KTCHN dtsa attempts to change the breakfast food game. I am not sure what genre you would place KTCHN dtsa in. Breakfast? Barbecue? Haute Cuisine? It touches all of these in one way or another but it is nothing if not delicious. Offering an abbreviated menu with eggs seemingly being the focal point I dare say that KTCHN dtsa really is what Eggslut in DTLA was supposed to be. Even better is the lack of urine soaked air, homeless people asking for money and 45 minute lines ending in disappointment you have at Eggslut. What to get? The Pulled Pork & Egg. First they toast a thick slice of buttered artisan bread and then place a jalapeño aioli slaw, toasted pumpkin seeds. gorgonzola crumbles, and a healthy mound of smoked pulled pork on top of it. Drizzle a bit of barbecue sauce over the pork and last is the Coup de grâce: a fried egg for a blast of sapor. Each ingredient was carefully selected to impart unique texture, saltiness and savory to the flavor profile and although it is rather complex, it somehow stays balanced and just«works». The pumpkin seeds really up the ante on the dish’s mouthfeel game. This is a marvelous way to cure a hangover. Located in the 4th Street Market along side a bevy of equally inspired stands from some of the freshest faces in the OC/LA food scene, chances are most Unilocalers will find KTCHN sooner than later. It is worth the trip. Eggslut, let go of the mic, step aside and make way for KTCHN dtsa.
