This is a cute little neighborhood park. There’s two playgrounds… One is small, for smaller children, the other is slightly bigger for the older children. There’s only a couple of swings(literally). This lark also has a baseball field, and a large field, where people normally go for soccer practice. Most of the time it’s quite empty, which is perfect for us. We like to take a walk in this lark with our baby.

Some very run down facilities, and some sketchy people just hanging out, and difficult to access unless you go around in circles, the green areas here are great. The landscapers here seem to be top notch. Everything else, not so much. Watch out for the bleachers and the bathrooms — they seem neglected.

The only reason I come to Portola Park is that it is the closest park to our house. The park is kind of run down and does not have a lot to offer. We come here so our boys can scooter or ride bikes. There is a walkway that extends from one end of the park to the other. There is a slight hill in the middle so the boys can go up and down. I guess this is adventure for the 4 — 6 year old crowd. There are two small play areas. Nothing fancy. Restrooms are pretty run down. There is also a beat up basketball court and tennis court. There are several grill /table areas for eating. I would love to see the city put some money into restoring this park. It could be a very nice neighborhood place if it received some TLC. Until then, I think we will come here only when the boys insist on it.
