Had the push ups and tacos when these guys were at Bootlegger’s Brewery in Fullerrton. My husband and I had all the spam and egg and salmon push ups. All of the items were pretty yummy and reasonably priced. Yes, it’s a bit of a pain tearing through the seaweed with your teeth, but it’s still delicous.

Don’t push me. cause I’m close to the edge. I’m trying not to lose my head. hu hu huh. It’s like a jungle some times I keep from wondering how I stay from going under. Everyone else was doing the push pops reference and really, I wanted to as well but man it’s played out. Though you really have nothing better to compare this food truck offering than those damn push pops anyway. The concept is novelty at best. It’s like a corn dog for when you’re walking down the beach. You don’t want to get your sand filled hands on your food so you eat meat on a stick. So what’s the answer for when it comes to sushi rolls? Put it in a pushing mechanized contraption. Though this is all cooked food, no sushi involved. Teriyaki. For when you’re feeling like exotic food but you’re white as all hell. The food is on the good side. Really, when you justify the whole action down it’s a good concept on paper, but the service needs to get pushed up a bit because it’s both slow and very unfriendly. Makes you wonder if they’ve been pushed around one too many times. I can understand the service being a bit slow. Their claim to fame is that they have a machine rolling the suckers. And really, when you have a niche item that has to create the pushing action and have it work, I guess you need to depend on a machine. Price is also a bit higher than what I am used to, though I’m never used to a machine making my food. Who will they replace next? PERHAPSYOU!!! It’s worth trying once. Just like that spiral potato chip maker truck(and optional hot dog in the middle) but I don’t see myself running to this as anything more than a gimmick that is a one trick pony.

«Push a push pop, push it for flavor! Push a push pop, save some for laterrrrr…» So a lot of us will remember this novelty candy from our childhoods, and the Push Up Grill does the same thing with sushi & California rolls. They’re like hand rolls inside of a push-up tube. If you don’t like tearing away at seaweed with your teeth, these can be messy to eat. I got the California roll, and it was just okay. Something tasted very fishy about it, even though it didn’t look like they used real crab… there actually seemed to be a lot of mayonnaise in it, too. I might go back to try the chicken or some other non-seafood option, but for mobile California rolls I’ll definitely stick to the Rolling Sushi Van. I also saw some other items on the menu from Lee’s Sandwiches, which is promising. Service was good for me, and I felt like the menu was very appropriately priced — $ 2.00 for a roll, which is unusually reasonable for a food truck. I don’t believe they accept credit cards yet.

A new novelty truck is out on the loose! Everyone remembers the push pop ice cream that you push up to eat. This new truck has done the same except with a California roll. A unique concept that’ll catch a lot of new customers. The menu very simple and with few choices. I ordered the chicken push up, spam and eggs push up, and California push up. The spam and eggs were the best of the three and that isn’t saying much. It also has rice and a seaweed wrap around it. To get full you’ll have to order six of these. It’s two dollars a push up so it won’t kill your wallet. The taste isn’t anything special for any of the items. Service on this truck is crap. They do not accept credit cards. They need to change the cashier to someone happier and more helpful. He seemed like a dead fish in the water. The food took a long time to come out. The first time he gave our food to the wrong person. Not only that he got the order wrong. That was only bringing out part of what we ordered. When he brought out the rest of the food it was wrong again. Sad. This novelty won’t last long if it continues to have low food quality and service.
