Splitends Salon Downtown

It is not very often that I can come out of a hair salon feeling happier. This is the place! No more nightmare haircuts and no more sales pitch about perming and buying hair products. It is simply about hair and Chris is very friendly and listens to what you have to say. Looking forward to many more haircuts here.

Hands down the best haircut I have ever had! Christopher Hall is a genius and it doesn’t hurt that he is also incredibly good looking. Worth every penny to have talented, attractive service. I will not only be back but I will recommend it to everyone I know. Hip, professional, and artistic.

Ridiculously AMAZING. Probably the best haircut experience I’ve ever had. The end result was a lot better than what I envisioned! Great environment and very friendly stylist! My only regret is not being able to tip. I forgot to call and ask for prices. I was a bit unprepared.

Horrible experience! Walked out with gray hair after a whole head solid color «dye job» i had initially requested. When i called him the next day— after the fact, Christopher told me that he treated my treatment as a «color correction»??? Interesting because that was not represented during the assessment process before beginning to work on my hair. His attitude was condescending and bombastic throughout. After speaking on the phone about my expectation to not have gray hair after leaving the salon, he was not very understanding when i asked him to redo the roots so to cover the gray. I decided not to go back because he seemed bothered on the phone (although he did say to come back) and i just couldnt trust him with my hair again. And here i am about 1 month later looking like i never did anything to my hair… Waste of my time and money.

In response to Chris’ immature reply (which i am not at all surprised he would be so unprofessional as to reply in that fashion): it’s a bit difficult to «move on» when one spends $ 150 on a botched job ;) i may as well have flushed the money in my toilet.

Came back for a 2^nd appointment with Allison (Alyson, Allyson, Alisssssoooonnn). I was a bit late, but it didn’t seem to bother her.
There was another stylist there too this time (Denise) and we killed some time and chatted on their 3^rd story balcony while I drank a beer they graciously offered me.
Then it was off to the races and 40 minutes later, I left with a clean, trendy haircut.
Will definitely be seeing her again. Cool chick.

Just got a cut yesterday and it is perfect. No only that, the stylist Allison was chill (I talked her ear off — sorry about that!!) and very professional. Prices were reasonable — I just get a cut with no color though. Chris and Denise were super nice and made me feel at home. Its great to go to a place where the employees/​owner is nice and just love what they do. I really can’t recommend them enough and will definitely be a regular!

I would drive back to OC from LA just to head to Splitends. Chris is professional and he’s knows what he is doing. Great new location and trendy set up. He will also try his best to accomdate your time availability!
Definitely worth the drive and the price!

I live in L.A. with a choice of the best of the best, yet I’ve been driving down to the OC to Split Ends to get my haircut every month for the last SIX YEARS.
I was a devoted fan of Split Ends in Costa Mesa and now I go to Splitends Downtown. The atmosphere is intimate and extremely friendly. Chris and the staff as just plain nice people. You will get great service without the snotty attitude of high end salons. Prices are a STEAL for the quality you are getting.
Chris is hands down the best stylist EVER. He also hand picks his other stylists and personally trains and mentors them to make sure they provide the same quality of both service and cut.
Got difficult hair? Chris (and the rest of his handpicked stylists) are the only people on the planet who can make all hair types (fine, thin, thick, extremely curly, half curly, half stringy) look incredible.
Go to Split Ends Downtown — You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
