lunch menu is freaking awesome. 7 days a week, from when they open to 3pm. Pretty much anything on the menu is a good bet. I usually get some sort of clams, a beef dish, a seafood dish and a veg dish. Got the clams in black bean sauce, crispy salt and pepper squid, shrimp in lobster sauce and bo luc lac(steak and onions in soy sauce marinade). I extremely recommend the crispy squid with the lemon lime salt and pepper dipping sauce. I didn’t get it this time but the salt and pepper shrimp is damn good as well. Lunch comes with the house complimentary soup. The house lobster is a must for lunch or dinner. Lobster size will vary depending on their fresh selection. Lobster sitting on a bed of lo mein noodles, yumm! The plaza is under construction but open for business.

Whenever I am in socal we make it a point to stop by here. Currently the surrounding area is under construction but the place is Fireeee. Fusion Canto/Viet resturant Pros: +Food is great here, King size lobsters, clams, Oysters, they got the plug +Also service Decent Chinese dishes +Can pay with Card /Cash Cons: –Often times crowded(Wait time can be long) –Service is like every other Asian restaurant –No Reservations Notes: If you are in the area and are craving seafood this is the place to stop by. Often times is crowded though so you should hope your timing is great so you don’t have to wait too long. Get the Lobster, you will have no regrets.

We have been coming here years now whenever we are in Orange County. They make the best asian style lobster, jalapeño, peppery, with smelt like eggs. And onions. You can have it on a bed of noodles. I just want it straight up. We have tried a fee dishes like geo duck, clams but they are subpar. It used to be cash only which was a hassle since who carried $ 100 all the time? Now they accept credit card. The lobster are like $ 18 per lb. The smallest size is 4lb. So expect $ 90 for it. But it is so worth it! I took off a star since they charge you for rice automatically. It does sit right with me when a restaurant charges rice even when not asked for it. They are always crowded and it has a rush atmosphere and seems chaotic. It is not a fancy place even if every table has a platter of lobster!

I told my wife I wanted something that we haven’t had ever. I wanted lobster but I didn’t want to go to the usual fare. I searched Unilocal found this place and it is so damn good I am virtually speechless It was packed I couldn’t understand anybody as I don’t speak The language but the waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. The entire staff was excellent. Highly recommended. We had the Newport lobster with noodles and a side of steamed spinach with garlic. It was glorious

So to start off with this place was in a plaza. However, at the time of eating there the front was under construction. This place is packed and we went around midday on Sunday so I can assume it’s pretty busy the other days also. They keep it pretty fast paced though so the wait shouldn’t be too long. Service is typical for an Asian restaurant. If you are not used to it you might feel a bit rushed. After the food came out, they didn’t really come back to help us but in their defense it was crowded. Also water isn’t brought out automatically so you would have to ask for it. The restaurant itself was decent in size but the overcrowding made it seem much more cramped. There wasn’t much décor or anything that made it particularly stylish but at least on their big round tables they had a white cloth. You can also see big tanks of crab and other seafood if you say on one side of the restaurant. I am 95% confident that at least their lobster and maybe some other seafood is fresh. When I walked to the restroom it went by those big lobster tanks and I saw on a man grab the lobster out of the tank. We ordered their 4.5 pound house special lobster, salt and pepper squid, and some sort of braised beef with a lemon sauce. All three of their dishes were good. The lobster though was by far in my opinion the best of the three. I think the lobster they have is one of their specialties so If you can only come here once like I did you need to get their lobster. The lobster was cooked well and the flavors were great. It also had a hint of spiciness. My only objection about that dish would be if you got the noodles. They were a bit chewy. Besides that if was great. The braised beef was good. The meat was pretty tender and the sauce that was on it well compliments the beef. The lemon and the powder to make the sauce was separated so you had to put the lemon juice in the powder. The sauce was a bit strong for me but I could see how you would like it. The salt and pepper squid was good… Or at least I thought it was good. The reason I say that is because one of the places I regular has the best salt and pepper squid I’ve tasted. The shape of the squid was a bit weird in that instead of being slightly curled like most other prepared squid it was straight almost like a fish stick. Besides from that it was well seasoned and tasty. Overall the food was great. The atmosphere could’ve been a little better but as long as the food is tasty that shouldn’t stop you from trying this place. I would recommend it to people

I just came here with my friends for the purpose of trying a new place that has House Special Lobster on the menu. I usually have a place I go to that is relatively close by my house but wanted to give this place a try to mainly write a review lol… because Unilocal.Service was very excellent here and to be honest, this place isn’t too far off from where I lived either. Oh how I love living in Orange County where everything is within my fingertips. So anyways my friends and I came through and ordered the house special lobster amongst a few more items. The shaken beef was pretty good and the soup was as delicious as ever but the lobster was on point. Technically, they couldn’t really do no wrong with the lobster. As long as the meat was on point everything pretty much was fine. They even had some lobster eggs inside too… yums my favorite. The meat was really good and I really enjoyed the meal a lot. Lobster is expensive anywhere, but I really enjoyed it made chinese style with all the ingredients and everything. It beats Red Lobster any day where all they have to go with it is butter. Give me House special Lobster all day everyday fam Overall this is a really nice spot. The service was ok though I was surprised that you pretty much seat yourself. Its not a very fancy place but it wasn’t that bad either. I’ve seen worse but I’ve definitely seen better. I probably won’t be back though because there are better places a bit closer to me.

Came here on a whim with my family. We ordered their standard menu of 8 dishes which came with Kung Pa Chicken, Black Peppered Steak, Sweet & Sour Pork, Fried Tilapia, Seafood Mix Soup, Fried Shrimp, Chinese Broccoli, and Clams in Hot Sauce. Overall, what we ordered was very basic, but somewhat of an American style dishes. It came in lighting speed telling me these dishes were probably pre-made and ready to go on a fly; as in warm them up and serve. I didn’t care for that since what was supposed to be crunchy and with texture seemed soggy and stale. The sauce on these dishes were obviously been sitting under a warmer of sorts and quickly refried for heating. I’m not a big fan of re-heats and definitely need my food to be cooked to order. Would I have mind to have waited, no I wouldn’t. In the end, the place is a dive and basic. Service was good and quick least to say. Food, well I think they need to cook to order and if they do then it was totally an off night I guess and that’s why just 1 Star. I think the place needs a deep cleaning and spider webs removed from the ceilings and glass windex. — Enjoy!

Lobster & Bo Luc Lac. The end. I have been coming here for over 20 years it business has just gotten better and better for them. They expanded the restaurant and it’s still always packed, but the wait is usually no more than 10 – 30 minutes on the weekends. Before it was all Asians, but word has got out over the years and now it’s a more mixed crowd. Newport Special Lobster — Sweet and succulent with a little bit of kick, this melt in your mouth lobster will have you licking your finger tips for every last morsel of sauce. You want to order this house special style, wok fried with green onions, garlic, black pepper, jalapenos and lobster eggs. You can order it with or without long life noodles. Their lobster might be a couple of dollars more per lb., but in my opinion, they do the best lobster in Little Saigon, I prefer Tan Cang Newport over Capital Seafood. They serve this market price and depending on when you come, it can get up to $ 17 – 18 per lb. Minimum order is about 4 lbs. You could go for an 8 or 9 lb lobster which would have more meat, but I don’t always think those are tastier because the meat on older lobsters just isn’t as tender. Crab — I also love the crab cooked in their house special sauce. The salt and pepper crab here is also good. Bo Luc Lac/Vietnamese Shaking Beef — Tender cubed squares of steak, served medium rare with a glistening sweet, salty, garlicky glaze. Squirt some fresh lime juice over it, dip it with a touch of salt and eat with the sliced onions and rice… Can’t beat that! They also do one of the best Bo Luc Lacs in Westminster here. Meat quality is good and how long they cook it is on point. Fried Bean Curd — I always love deep fried tofu. Here they serve it batter coated with chopped jalapeño and cilantro swimming in soy sauce. House Assorted Seafood Soup — Egg drops in a thick clear broth that is full of fish, shrimp and other seafood in every spoonful. Not a heavy dish, but always leaves me satisfied. It’s a simple soup that lets the seafood shine. There are tons of other seafood dishes to try here… You can get your lobster and crab cooked in different styles/sauces, their clams with black bean sauce is good, they have cooked oysters, fried fish, steamed fish, elephant clams, squid, abalone, scallops, frog legs and sea cucumber. For meat they cook a number a chicken dishes and their Roast Squab is also tasty. If you need a veggie to balance it out, as what seasonal vegetables they have in stock as this often changes. If you’re not sure, go for the sauteed pea sprouts(which are pan simmered and cooked with a little bit of garlic). Is this a fine dining place? No. Do they have small private rooms? No, it’s one giant dining room. Décor is old school and bare bones. It’s place you go to when you just want to get serious about seafood. You will hear the people talking at the table next you. Heck, you will hear everyone in the room talking, but you won’t even notice because you’ll be digging for those sauce covered red lobster egg bits that are stuck in the crack of your shell.

Super super super good. I usually hate lobster but I got the special lobster with noodle and I was amazed! Took my family here on a separate occasion and they liked it too. Chow fun was not very impressive though. Prob cuz we had the lobster first.

If you’re a seafood lover you need to try this place. Their specialty is lobster — not the 1lb kind you see at restaurants because you can’t even get that here. Their minimum is roughly 4 lbs. These are big and delicious. I don’t know a place that serves lobster better than these guys. Lobster with noodles — their famous signature dish. They cook their lobster in their house sauce and serve it on top of egg noodles noodles. It is a beautiful pairing that will be a joy on your mouth. Order it. You must order it. Service — this is by far some of the best service I have ever seen. The food comes out amazingly quick. They refill your waters more times than you can count. And they always clear your plates of discard shells without saying a single word. This is how service should be. These waiters literally scan the room to find something to do. Absolutely spectacular. This restaurant runs like a well oiled machine.

Its tâm thuòng Thú hai(Mediocre Mon) again!!!(5MM’s in a row to start the year — sigh) I have been wanting to come here for a while, and finally found an opportunity w/my pal Van D. I had been to Boston Lobster in San Gabriel, so I wanted a place to compare. Tan Cang is a tôm húm place(lobster restaurant), and is located on 1st St & Newhope in Santa Ana. We obviously ordered the Special Lobster($ 17.00/lb x 4.5 lbs = $ 80.96) w/noodles underneath($ 5). To balance the seafood, we ordered bò lúc lâc($ 13.95). Lastly, we were given rice, although we didn’t ask for it(75 cents/each). First of all, the lobster was OK, but overpriced. Many of the other seafood type houses in the area charge $ 12.99/lb. In addition, the lobster did not taste as good as Boston Lobster: 3 Stars. Secondarily, the bò lúc lâc was tender, but also did not have much flavor. At least they are consistent! Additionally, the portion was small for the price. I was expecting a lot more in terms of flavor & quantity for the price: 3 Stars. Lastly, the noodles were OK, but I was expecting more garlic flavor: 3 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, TC is a typical Azn seafood restaurant w/some large round tables for bigger parties. However, the bathroom looks very dated(and dirty): 3 Stars. On the other hand, the service was surprisingly good. We were well attended to, and the staff was friendly: 4 Stars. Van, I told you to stop letting me pick the places we eat! LOL We had a good laugh later at Quan Tri Ky about my latest mishap. She obviously chose the latter, because we had a great time(review upcoming)!!! hahahahaha

I came here for dinner with my family. It’s a standard Chinese restaurant serving family style meals. It isn’t the cleanest or the nicest restaurant, but for a Monday night, they were packed. Everyone comes here for the lobster but we didn’t order it. We had the fried tofu, beef with Chinese broccoli and clams with ginger and onions. It was $ 37 for three items. The fried tofu was good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The beef was soft and tender and the portion was a good size. The clams were really good! I’d recommend getting it! Overall, a decent spot for Chinese food but nothing really stood out.

YUMMMYYUM! The best seafood I had while in Cali! Also, saw an older celebrity dining in here too :) What we had… Shark’s Fin & Crab Meat Soup: which was absolutely phenomenal! One of the best seafood soup’s I’ve had in awhile, besides homemade hehehe. Shrimp with Cashew Nuts: it’s basically fried shrimp tossed in some type of mayo sauce with cashews. this was pretty good and the shrimp was definitely fresh! Lobster with Ginger & Green Onions: YUMMY! Lobster is one of my favorite dishes and this dish deff. did well! We had ordered a 5lb lobster that was very fresh and super good! Actually all of their seafood is fresh from the tank. anyways back to the dish! The ginger and green onions sautéed in with the lobster was extremely good, it was perfectly cooked. you know how some places over cook green onions or ginger. not this place. everything on point! The noodles were great! Basil Clams: These were not over the top great but still good! Very spicy with all the jalenenos that were put in. Great flavor in the sauce and not to overpowering where you can still taste the clams. Overall, this is a great place to go to for fresh seafood! I will definitely return here!

Thankfully found this place after another unnamed restaurant wanted to seat me and my parents in the dark, dusty corner of their restaurant! We left and came here! Been to Tan Cang in SG a million times, but never to this one. Apparently, all of the locations are independently owned. This one is not as nice or big as the SG one but it’s still pretty spacious. We came RIGHT before the dinner rush thank goodness! We were seated immediately(there were people waiting outside, which got me nervous, but I think they were waiting for more of their parties to show. yay for us!) Service is standard Viet service haha If you’re Asian or have dined at Asian places, you know what I mean. Well, it was a step above actually! Food took less than 15 mins to arrive after ordering and a server even came to our table to tell me what he had served after he saw my eyes wide open when he brought out a huuuuuge plate of sizzling lobster and noodles. Their lobster is AHmazing! But today, there were only 3 of us so we opted for another preset menu $ 56 set that can easily feed up to 4 ppl! –Clams with basil — good falvor but many shells were clamless :( –Canh chua– my parents love it here! –Kung Pao Chicken– YUM, just wish for more peanuts! –Fried Fish– WOW what a pleasant surprise! Cripsy fried fish and tender meat inside! Bones were easy to pick out, too! I hate bones! –Veggies– some Chinese veggies… maybe Cai Lan? –Oranges– free at the end lol Overall, this place was solid and I shall return! THANKS!

Figured we hadn’t had Vietnamese style lobster for a very long time, decided to come here for our cravings. The ratings are good on Unilocal. Menu is huge, lots of seafood choices, I wanted to try lobster and crab but it was hard to finish the food with just the two of us. Their smallest lobsters are 5lbs already, that’s a lot! Started with crab meat and fish maw soup. This is our favorite Cantonese /Chinese soup, the Vietnamese style is very similar. A big bowl of flavorful soup with generous amount of crab meat, fish maw and egg whites. Remember to put in red vinegar and pepper, it tastes even better with those! Mapo tofu in Chinese style was very delicious according to hubby, he was craving this dish I has no idea why. Again soft tofu with a lot of ground pork in it, it looked so good. 5lb lobster in house special sauce was bomb! Lobster was so meaty and tender, the sauce was very rich, a bit oil in it but it was acceptable. We loved every bite of it! Washed down the tasty food with 2 beers, it was a very comforting and satisfying meal. The service was much better than usual Vietnamese /Chinese restaurants. A good choice for seafood in this area, you won’t be disappointed!

Tan Cang Newport Santa Ana location isn’t as good as the Las Tunas location because of the lobster(all the other dishes taste the same). I feel this location uses less green onions, spices, etc. when making their house special lobster. At the Las Tunas location, which I consider the best, you can get a spoonful of green onions, spices, etc. with every single lobster bite. Service is pretty decent here and there wasn’t a wait on a Friday night. So looks like this location isn’t as busy as the others.

1 pound of lobster is $ 16.99 each The Newport special has 4lbs I came on a Friday at 2pm from San Diego with absolutely no wait at this time. Upon arriving at this location I thought it would be a nice restaurant but it’s kinda old and not in the best neighborhood. Food came out in about 10 – 15 minutes. The server was very nice even gave us free bone marrow soup because I was going to order a big bowl of soup to myself and he knew it would be too much. It was sooo good. But it wasn’t boiling hot like I normally like when my food comes out. I do not recommend the Newport special for only 2 people. We barely even ate half. It was good and the noodles I got with it complimented it very well. They also charge you for rice .50c per person even if you don’t want it or eat it. The Newport special lobster wasn’t hot at all. Just warm then cold. Which is why it’s not 5 stars. Coming from San Diego it probably wasn’t worth the drive but it was good. You should definitely try it once in your life.

First timer at this spot to celebrate two Oct. birthdays! We were greeted and seated immediately. No wait time as it was 4:30pm on a Saturday. We got a nice table by the window. It’s no ocean view but it was good enough. Don’t be alarmed by the location on(Newhope/First)! In same complex as Trieu Chau. The inside of restaurant is small yet roomy… Pretty decent décor with white linen table cloth. Nothing too fancy… It’s not five-star. Don’t expect dim lighting and candles. Service was good! We felt very accommodated by the 3 different male servers. Our main server was funny and entertaining. He was thorough in terms of explaining the seafood availability and specials. The damage: –House special lobster: 4.25lbs @ $ 16.99/lb very flavorful with the special sauce. Top dish… HIGHLYRECOMMEND!!! —House special chow fun: with chicken, shrimp, squid, and some other stuff. –French style beef: very tender –Kung pao chicken: with cashews/peanuts…very good! –Clams with black bean sauce: mostly shell… digging for the meat… Dinner for 4 including tip: $ 155. My new go to spot for Chinese cravings!

What? Of all the years I’ve been coming here I’ve never written a review. How can I say I’m a Unilocaler. Love the manager lady here. She’s friendly and if you have never been here she’s remind you that this is their only location. All those others one are NOT them. That’s right! I’ve been coming here for ages for the Lobster in special sauce. I’d tried everything from their clams with black bean sauce, shaking beef, calamari with salt & pepper, morning glory, fish but the lobster is the only thing that keeps me coming back. Everything else is just add ones to accompany my meal. My momma always told me I had to eat my vegetables so hence the morning glory is always what I order. They do take reservations so give them a call before or on your way in.
