Best Mexican brunch spot in Santa Ana, the service, food, atmosphere, bottomless mimosas & live Mariachis LOVED it!

Went here for a brunch with about 20 of our cousins to celebrate Christmas. We were given separate tables at first but later accommodated because we had reserved almost two months in advance. The server was really friendly and never held back on the champagne, I was buzzed before I ate anything. The food was really good! Worth every penny, especially those hand made tortillas. It’s a great environment for families and anyone really! I will be a repeat customer for years to come

Went to my friends wedding here on new year’s eve. I can’t talk about the food here since it was catered from outside and the bartender was cool. It was was a nice location, but the service needs some major improvement especially the wannabe security guard with the long trench coat. Instead of addressing people in a professional manner, he was just plain rude. Would not book any events here in the future until they can get their customer service up to par.

I decided to have my weeding the Big Day at this venue great looking nice floor plan for event no complains there but the staff NONPROFESSIONAL Rude talking back with attitude to all my guest when you’re night is ending instead of coming to the groom or bride saying it’s getting close so we could redirect family and friends to another location they take it upon themselves to kick out all our guest to parking lot like a sheep venue or dive bar with no direction Very Rudely Very Disappointed

I’ve contemplated where or not leave a review for the green parrot. We initially found out about this place as it was recommended to us by close friends. We visited this place for the first time in the spring of 2014. Our first impression was positive, the architecture of the building is beautiful and the food was good. We decided to return a few months later in October that same year. We invited a few friends to join us as we celebrated my birthday. The ambiance was perfect, mariachi, good food and champagne. No complain, we had a good time and our friends enjoyed it! Early this year my husband and I began to plan our wedding, after looking at several venues we talked about the possibility of doing it at the Green Parrot since we had only had positive experiences there and we liked the esthetics of the building. We attended a food tasting in August, and that same day we reserved the date to hold our wedding reception there at the green parrot. We were excited and began to anxiously start planning for our big day! Until about a month and a half later when I get a call from Alma, who had initially helped me with my booking. She calls to inform me they had double booked my wedding date. I was completely dumbfounded by her call, she promised to help me find an other venue as having my wedding there that date was NOT an option, and she recognized it was THEIR mistake… She quickly got on it and found a place that had my same date open, Tustin Community Center! Sure it’s a decent place in a decent area, however it’s my wedding not a quinceñera. I was so turned off by the whole experience and running short of time i asked to have my deposit returned and decided I would simply find an alternate place of my own. Like planning a wedding isn’t already stressful! I don’t know if the double booking was really what happened or if someone else came in with the same date willing to spend more money. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and I know mistakes happen but this really left a bad taste… Anyone considering the green parrot for any type of event, beware and good luck! Hope my incident came as a learning lesson to them and as a heads up to future clients!

Food was great… hand made tortillas were awesome… only bad thing about this was our server older man with glasses… so rude kept spilling the champagne on purpose… took him a long time to come to refill drinks… would always say rude comments… that’s the only reason why I give it a 4star.

Have you ever walked into a party where you don’t know anyone and then you automatically become a long lost family member? Well, that’s exactly what happened here. I came here for brunch to meet a bunch of girlfriends and could not believe all the goodies! On the horizon, I spotted a full waffle bar with freshly made Belgian waffles, yummy and mouth-watering sliced up strawberries, mangoes, and all the whip cream a person could swim in – chocolate sprinkles too! Further down the walk way I came upon an omelette bar, again, packed with pickings from chicken to veggies, whipped up and cooked in front for pleasurable observation. Walking back into my seating area, THee taco bar called me by name. It was a Taco Tuesday bar and more, with fruit on the side and also another table filled with desserts on the other side. I had EVERYTHING I could have. Does it get better? You bet. Even though I always choose dessert over any alcohol(that’s just me, and it won’t ever change) there is ALLTHEALCOHOL a person could ask for. Special thanks to the first server to approach me and woo me over to the waffle bar was Ray. He was such a sweet heart and made sure I was well and had eaten well. Secondly, a very special thanks to Manny for checking on us and letting us know about the history of the restaurant. Special thanks to the very well dressed Mariachi Men who smiled and serenaded us off and on with PERFECTLY pitched music. How disappointing to know I have toured the Bower’s Museum and never eaten at The Green Parrot before. *SUCH A DELICIOUSEXPERIENCE!* *Don’t miss out!*

Well where do I even begin! The Green Parrot Villa is AMAZING!!! I am the last one of a group of about 10 girls I helped plan their weddings and this has by far been the best experience I have encountered with. From the beggining the owners have demonstrated accountability, honesty, kindess, thoroughness, profficiency and excellance. Ive been planning this special day for years and was very specific on every single detail. Sammy one of the owners was so pleasant to work with. He gave me all the reassurance and promised expectations that I had in mind. I frequently spoke to Jeraldine that was very proficient as well. Although she is not a wedding planner nor is that her responsibility she took the time to always answer all my questins and concerns. The chef javier took the time to make adjustments to our menu choices and everythign always felt like it was our decision. They sincerely go above and beyond to deliver the perfect event. The whole wedding planning was just perfect! Never was there a misunderstanding or any mishaps. It made me even a little nervous that it could be too good to be true. Well the day of the wedding came and everything was just PERFECT!!! I cant say ONE bad thing that went wrong. It was all perfect. The food, décor, servers, bartenders, staff, cleanliness, and everything! Perfect! I got to know the familie who own the Green parrot and I feel like I not only gained a perfect wedding experience, but a family I can always count on. We also go to their Sunday Brunch which is amazing! Its always great to see them!

Thought this would be a good place but sadly mistaken. FOODISCOLD! No omelette bar this week… the omelette guy didn’t show up… WTF?! The waiter was super nice and kept our glasses full with champagne. Maybe he thought if we were drunk we wouldn’t notice the cold food! They also charge you $ 2.95 for a 6 oz plastic cup of orange juice! Our waiter Jose is the only reason I rated this a 2!

Genius! Not only two choices but a variety… rice, beans, enchiladas, vegetarian pasta, spaghetti with meat sauce, mole, barbacoa type meat, taco bar with fresh tortillas, potatoes, steamed veggies, fruit, salad and dessert 3 different breads and flan… oh and menudo was their soup today. Honestly this buffet is great for anyone. It’s Fresh food. Mole made from scratch… delicious menudo. Absolutely will be coming here on a weekly basis. Nice grounds, clean bathrooms a full bar… it’s great for a $ 10 buffet it’s definitly worth it!

After two visits I’m still searching for the actual green parrot, does it exist or is it a mythical beast? I did find some good Mexican food and a beautiful courtyard. The restaurant is only open to the public two days a week. I’ve been to happy hour and Sunday brunch, both were solid experiences. Sunday brunch includes a nice spread of Mexican dishes, omelet bar, waffle bar, taco bar, and free-flowing champagne. The staff have always been courteous and the mariachi band is a fun addition. I wish they had a way to make reservations online for Sunday brunch, their brunch is becoming so popular. A brunch at the Green Parrot Villa and a nice afternoon strolling through the Bowers Museum across the street would be a great Sunday outing for a date or family.

Came here for brunch today. When we paid, it look about 20 minutes to get our ATM card back. The husband(who worked in the restaurant industry forever) commented that it seemed like way too long to wait to get the card back. A few hours later we got a call from the bank that someone fraudulently charged $ 2,200 to that account. AVOIDUNLESSPAYINGCASH

My Husband and I had our wedding ceramony and recption here on March 13th, 2015 and it was wonderful! We had searched for a wedding venue for a while and not only was The Green Parrot Villa by far the most beautiful, but it was waaayyyy more affordable than anything we had seen! We worked with Anais(I think that how you spell it, sorry if not) and she was awesome. Took all my calls, and believe me there was alot of them and communicated so well with us. The venue also handled the many changes through out the whole process very easily and with ease. Location wise i was a bit worried because it’s right off MAin St. near the freeway, which is a very busy street, but we really couldnt hear any of the traffic. And even better, its literally right across the Bowers Measeum which worked out great to take pictures after the ceramony. All my guest loved the venue and food. Great Authentic Mexican food! The great thing about this place is that the court yard is so beautiful you really do not need to do much else decorating wise except your floral. The only thing that comes to mind that is a con is that they dont have any type of bridal suite or room for the bride to get redy in but honestly its not really that big a deal, there are plenty of neighboring hotels. Beautiful Venue! Great Food! and Very Professional!

So many Taco Tuesday specials, but this one is definitely worth it! No mediocre tacos here, they are absolutely delicious! Our taco orders consisted of asada, chorizo & chicharron, all of which we loved. And what’s a taco without a salsa bar: diced onion & cilantro, cut limes, flavorful salsas with the right amount of kick, oregano seasoned nopales & pickled jalapeños with carrots. The staff was so friendly and very attentive. The Spanish style villa is beautiful and decorated with twinkle lighting to set the outdoor ambience. Eating areas and restrooms clean and well kept. If you’re in the area, swing by! We will definitely be back!

Went here for a few weddings and celebrations. The table services could use some work. It took us about 20 minutes to get water out to our tables and refilled. Taco Tuesday: during the winter months the mariachi isn’t there but when they are its a whole other experience! Tacos and drinks are satisfying! well drinks are good anywhere! Pricing: $$

Sunday Champagne Lunch and Mariachi Band! The Green Parrot Villa sports an indoor and outdoor venue for the Sunday Brunch. Pretty mainstream items and, other than the live mariachi, nothing stands out too much. I feel it is a bit pricey with so many other options in the area available. What you get-3 Stars Omelet Bar, Waffle Bar, Hot Item Bar(Enchiladas, Rice, Veggie, Manudo…), Dessert Bar, Taco Bar(with hand made tortillas), Coffee, OJ and bottomless champagne. –Food was AOK; –Champagne wa$s.blah; –Service was AOK; and –Patio Dining. About $ 18 for Adults and $ 12 for kids. It was raining when I came so no outside dining. The mariachis didn’t start until we were out the door. The champagne… ugh. The three main reasons I came. Overall, the food is AOK. I think it I expensive. $ 14 for adults and $ 9 for kids seems to be more than fair for what we got. It is a bit pricey with so many other options in the area available. Parking-Park in the rear or on the street. The place does get full. AOK
