WTF Fridays is an event that is hosted by different venues that the LGBT Community can enjoy. This event has treated their customers like complete an utter trash that I had to post my experience, so that people know what is going on and what to expect when they plan to attend this event. If you want to avoid being treated like trash please take a moment to read this review. On 5÷13÷16 I went to WTF Fridays with some Friends. I order a drink from the bartender and left my debit card in the black hard holder(My Fault). Upon noticing that my card was gone I kindly asked if they could check the booklets to see if it is in there. Which it came to that it was not. This was NOT an issue for me as I just needed to call and cancel the card and get a new one the next day. As I was outside about to cancel my card my friend text me stating that they found it. I walked back up 3 flights of stairs to the bartender Matt who instructed me Cody the manager had my card. I then walked back down the stairs for Cody to instruct me that the Bartender had it. As I was frustrated that I am getting the run around with my debit card and who has it Cody mentioned to me that it was on the floor and insinuating that it was my fault; however, upon further investigation it was on the floor on the bartender’s side of the venue which means they dropped it and not I. As expressing my frustrations that the bartenders don’t know where it is at a Security office placed her hands towards me and stated to not give him an attitude. After being harassed by her I went upstairs to get my card which it was again found. The Bartender apologized and I let him know I would handle this matter on my own as I review Bars and Nightclubs. He then proceed after I shared that information to want to buy me a drink. As I went outside Cody approached me and asked if I found the card(as if he cared) and I replied stating yes. ****The Following Day**** I called WTF Fridays on 5÷14÷16 to speak about this and come to find out that Cody is not the manager and that they will investigate this for me and get back to me with possible solutions within 24 hours. It is not 5÷16÷16 and I have yet to hear back from the night club. As someone who has ran a Bar I would have kept the Card at the bar and let the bartenders know where the card is, so they can locate it when the customer comes back… However, if I was approached with this issue I would have walked with the customer to the bar apologized and served him a well drink for the inconvenience. However, this is a great leadership we are speaking about in a building full of incompetent employees. I would urge you to pay attention to your items as the event gives no support to the customers if things shall go unexpected. Such as losing a debit card.

This place is only good when you’re super fucked up because at that point you don’t care about the music or anything. You just want to dance. Other than that, the music is not good. They always play stuff that’s on the radio. Like cmon. They play sad slow songs like, hello! This is a CLUB! Not a funeral! I would mostly go just because Danny Noriega would be there AKA Adore Delano AKA Angel Baby. But I ain’t going back anytime soon. Thanks

This is the best club event I have ever been to. The dancers are so nice and so good at dancing. I would definitely recommend these events.

By far the top gay club in Orange County! The night starts at 9PM with a drag show by some of the top Drag Queens and Kings in the scene. The dance floor opens around 10:30 and features some of the top djs in the club scene. The music is typically a mix of pop, hip hop, and edm. This club attracts very hot guys. So be prepared. Additionally, there is always a drink special. The nice thing about this club is you can go hard on the dance floor or chill on the patio. The patio has more of a chill deep house vibe and is perfect for conversations. WTF Fridays is a great destination no matter if your in a chill or party mode. I highly recommend this club. You won’t be disappointed.

Has always been a hit or miss. The crowd usually seems to show only when the Andrew Christian boys are here(otherwise it’s pretty dead and low key dirty). Last night we asked to pay the cover with card(pink hair and older guy told us cash only and that there was an ATM across the street… but one of the younger gentleman proceeded to let us pay with card via the iPad that was clearly hooked up with Square). Long review short: go if you’re feeling lucky because the night is usually a gamble.

Went here with a friend since she’s not 21 yet so she had to pay $ 20 to get in while I paid $ 10. I thought drinks were very pricey $ 12 for a sex on the beach is ridiculous! and beers were $ 6 which isn’t too bad so i stuck to that all night. But it got pretty boring soon since they just kept playing the same type of music all night. Im not that into techno so maybe this place isn’t the best for me but most people did seem to be having a great time.

My friends and I used to come here all the time, but we stopped going for quite some time. Until recently we went for a friend’s birthday party, who had gotten a table, bottle service and what not. The service getting in the door and figuring out where we were going to be seated at was a complete s#!+ show. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing… I would never get table service again. But, on a better note. I was happy to see that they had made some improvements inside, they cleaned it up nicely, we all enjoyed the music, and besides dealing with the actual employees had a great time. I like that this is(as far as I’m aware of) the only club near by that stays open till 3 am. Which is nice when we are not ready to go home yet haha

Received a response to my prior message from management at this place, needless to say it was an isolated incident and I’m hoping it is dealt with accordingly. Prior to this experience I’ve come here and enjoyed myself it’s a good crowd and good music and basically the only thing good within a forty five minute drive minimum, will be coming back. Thanks for the quick and respectful response !

This place is alright. You have to be prepared for the type of crowd that does show up here sometimes.(Kids under 21). But gay night is Thursday night and they always have a few shows going on(drag queen wise) a couple different bars and a huge dance floor with a stripper pole in it. It’s a good place for good times, but watch out for all the male dancers that are literally in underwear running around. You have been warned.

Adore the venue, bartenders, and performers. But the lighting engineer was dreadful, I was so blinded by the constant bright white search lights that I couldn’t even watch the show. I missed my favorite performers because the light was so blinding it caused me to get a migraine. It wouldn’t have been bad had whoever was doing the lighting bothered to change it. But instead I was punished for the entire show. So glad I spent all that money to get blinded… Aside from the lighting my experience was amazing

I feel like I’m obligated to write a review for this one. I’ve been here a few times. It’s a club. It’s got a typical club midnset. In other words: «You’re lucky to be here.» It really is one of the hottest gay clubs to be at. The drinks aren’t too expensive, and by 12 on a Friday it’s packed. But everytime I’ve come here I’ve had nasty interactions with the staff. Checking in and getting through the front door seems to be a sucky experience everytime. They have an online waitlist so you can get free entry beforehand, but half the time we get up there and they say our names aren’t on the list. Then I procede to show my phone to them to prove I signed up and I get: «Yeah… but like, it’s not on here. So… yeah $ 15.» And the bottoms that run the front desk are insufferable. I don’t expect you to kiss my ass when I walk in, you’re just doing your job. But christ, could you at least be pleasant about it? They are so catty and rude it’s beyond belief. Aside from that, once you make your way past the hellhole that is entry, the club is really poppin. I’m not trying to «ruin their reputation» or anything, but I’d really want people to at least be aware or take this into consideration before going.

A fun time here on WTF Fridays! Was just here for the first time. Music’s not bad. Plenty of top 40 remixes, electronic dance, and hip hop. I think this is one of my better OC club experiences so far; but I am biased towards gay clubs because I feel like everyone dances more! Anyway, overall good time, but drinks are kind of weak here. and there’s only one bar! Keep that in mind and have fun!

My boyfriend and I went here last night and we had so much fun together. The dancers were so great! The vibe was a wild one and everyone seemed liked they were having a good time. Even the waitresses and waiters seemed to be dressed up! Honestly, the best part truly was the music, I love good music and this was awesome. It was definitely a night to remember. Just a tip! For anyone who doesn’t see the title wtf Friday it is a gay night. So no haters allowed!

Came for Tinashe last Friday. Really large venue with spacious dance areas, bars, and smoking lounge. Crowd is eclectic and young. I always had fun.

Go every so often, but less and less now… I really do not understand why they have so many female bartenders at a GAYCLUB. I realize that the club is straight during the week, but really, hire guys, even if it’s just for Fridays. Also, what’s the deal with under pouring??? I’ve called the bartenders out on it, it’s not just one but ALL the GIRLS, $ 8 for a partial shot is not cool.

Unilocal’s 365 Review Challenge 2014 #198 — #365 Thoughts were running around my head on what I would expect to see in this 18+ club located in the OC. I was excited to try it out and made the 50 minute drive from the IE to Costa Mesa and arrived around 10:30PM with a short line of people. Parking wasn’t too bad as I found a spot right in from of the club and didn’t have to valet. Woot! Cover charge was $ 10 compared to the Velvet Lounge which was $ 15. The size of the place was alright, big huge dance floor towards the middle of the club with slim and muscular Gogo’s dancing all around the stage and the clubbers’ trying to get a piece of hot ass by sliding the Dollah Bills down the G-String. It was SWEET! Besides the indoor dance floor, they have an outdoor smoking patio with a smaller bar and some seating to rest your feet. I was in the outdoor patio more because of the fresh air and mingling with random guys and girls. A lot of people were bumming me for a ciggarrette and it started to piss me off! Some of the crowd was friendly and others were busy rubbing each other’s bodies and making out. Speaking of the crowd, most of them were slim and muscular. If you didn’t fit a certain criteria, then you were looked down on. Which reminds me of Weho but not everyone is like that in the community. The music completely sucked! They played some techno and mixed top 40 hits, then they started playing hip hop and rap! WTF! Not my cup of tea to dance, yet the Gogo’s made up for it, true eye candy! I’ll give it another try and see what comes out of it. It was not too bad but I prefer 21+ nights.

THISISTHESHIT. I’ve been twice and both times were excellent. Great music, lotta electronic and hip-hop along with pop. It’s truly a magnificent sight to see everyone lose their shit over GAGA. In case you didn’t know, this is *technically* a gay night, but I’ve made amazing friends here, straight and gay. It’s great because gay night means lots of fun, and a general lack of creeps– or at least, discouragement of creeps. We’ve had an unfortunate couple of experiences with strange, sweaty dudes approaching us and without asking or even saying«hello», finding it acceptable to grab hips and start dancing on you like a psychotic monkey(I’m looking at YOU, Woo!-Guy). LUCKILY, the gay community is very protective of people getting harassed and if the guy won’t listen to us, a gay avenger will step in, calling out the simpleton creeper in his fatal error of being an asshole. When the club opens, it starts up with an AMAZING drag show led by the amazing Twiggy Whorehol(feel free to correct me if I’m remembering that wrong). It’s hilarious, sexy, and an all-around great time. I always walk away feeling like the plainest Jane in existence after all that glitz and glamor. But yeah, it’s an amazing night, great for meeting lots of interesting people, and dancing your ass off. Update 6⁄15: Another unfortunate experience with an aggressive, wasted guy who literally grabbed me and tried to kiss me– some guys I’d met earlier saw me trying to pull away and stepped in to get him the hell away from me. Thanks dudes, rock on!

The people who promote this event through the most hassling and overly forceful texts. When you ask them repeatedly to discontinue texting you, even if you’ve moved and are nowhere near Costa Mesa, they ignore you. They ignore your calls and hang up on you if you call in to complain. This is now a problem I am going to seek legal counsel on. I now know the address and the name of the girl who is harassing me now. She’s not the first. You guys need to watch how you treat people and their privacy. I don’t even know how you have my personal information. I have never even been to your club

I love the music on this night, because they do play good amounts of hip hop, but they play a lot of pop. All the good Britney Spears songs, etc. There’s always a theme. There’s an amazing drag show at the beginning of the night, with great performances, and always hot dancers running around, as well as lots of weirdly dressed people –hence the«WTF» name. Fun for gays or straights alike.

This place is located at Shark Club on Friday nights. If you go straight to the entrance, they will charge you valet parking which I believe is $ 5. If you drive a little bit past shark club there is a little street there where you can usually find parking if you’re early enough. Admission is usually free if you come before 10PM and sign up for the guest list, either on their website or Facebook or one of their other avenues. When you’re on the texting or email list, they will usually text or email you an offer for free admission before 10PM. At around 9 – 9:30PM, they usually have a drag show, and on the times I went it was hosted by Adore Delano, the drag persona of the American Idol contestant and the guy that’s going to be on/is on RuPaul’s drag race. During the show you will see plenty of guys dressed in drag, I believe lip syncing to various songs, and you will hear Adore’s jokes and entertainment. I found the show to actually be pretty good and entertaining, and my friends and I sometimes just come to see the show and not really dance. Afterwards, there is an area to relax and talk in and then there is the dance floor. The relaxing room has a mini bar/stand and people tend to smoke there. The dance floor itself is pretty spacious considering it is in OC and is offering a pretty crowded gay night. The people there are a mixed bag, I felt there were a lot more girls there than at other gay nights/clubs and it seemed there were some straight guys there too… I’m guessing trying to hit on the girls. The dance floor usually has a few go-go dancers and on themed nights there are sometimes drag performances and other dancers there. The stage has various lighting effects from the screen and I believe there was some sort of fogging device. The bar I felt was lacking, especially on their drink specials. I had one of their $ 5 drink specials before and it tasted super watered down and weak to me. I felt the pricing on the other drinks were also pretty high, especially considering the drink specials VLVT has(though I didn’t do a side by side comparison or anything). Overall the drag show is pretty awesome, the crowd is okay and the dance floor is nice for being in OC.

Surprisingly, I actually had a good time at WTF! For years, I’ve snubbed this place because it is 18+. They have a drag show until 10:30-ish so if you want to stuff dollar bills in a fake set of boobs and see some cool acts(my fave was the Nikki Minaj drag queen), then check out the show. If you want to just come and dance, arrive after 10:30 since they don’t open the dance floor or start the music until then anyways. My main complaint would be the prices of the drinks. Compared to Tin Lizzy or VLVT, you’re going to be paying Shark Club prices for the drinks. Maybe I’ll sneak in with my flask next time. When at WTF, do as the 18+‘s would do. Good music, cool crowd, drag queens, and lots of good lighting… Me like!
