Coastal Design

I found Coastal Design with a Google search. I needed window coverings — roman shades and drapes. I knew the look of fabric I wanted. Lisa gave me some sample books and I chose a fabric. She priced them out & designed, and then gave me an option for a fabric that was «the same» as what I chose, but less money. The sample looked good. The problem started when the window coverings were delivered and were completely WRINKLED, the shades and especially the drapes. She had a panel taken down, sent to the manufacturer, and promised to remedy the situation. Weeks passed, and the panel was sent back, and she sent it to be pressed by a professional drapery company. It was just as wrinkled as before, not falling right, the seams a mess-​uneven, and kindof opened. Then Lisa told me this was all a «characteristic» of the fabric, and that she had originally told me this could happen! SHE DID NOT! (Why then not just say that before sending them across the country & getting them pressed?) Also, the hardware for my shades chord to be tied to came in gold rather than oil rubbed bronze I ordered, it took over 4 months to get the right ones! I spent over $ 12,000. on these window coverings that look horrible. Most of all is her covering her own-​self stating she «warned me of the wrinkles,» she absolutely did not, and it was she that found an alternative to the fabric I wanted originally… And NONE of the samples had any wrinkles in them at all. I am writing for that very reason, and because she is done with any solution besides my purchasing MORE window coverings from her! (NOT!)

We remodeled our entire house and needed window treatments for every room. Lisa took what could’ve been an arduous task and made it quick, simple and affordable. She knows her products, listens and pays attention to details, the results are a perfect look and function that fit our budget.

I love this place! I brought in a broken blind that I had bought elsewhere and repeatedly taken in for repair. That store kept charging me full price for repairs, was always slow, very unhelpful, so I thought I’d just go to Coastal Design and get a new blind, figuring it was cheaper than paying for repair over and over again at a store that was giving me crappy service. Lisa at Coastal Design was amazingly helpful — she figured out who had manufactured the blind, made a few phone calls, and arranged for the manufacturer to manufacture and send me a replacement blind at no cost. She didn’t make a penny on it and took time out of her day just to be helpful. I wish I needed new blinds so I could order them from her because she was amazing!

I can’t recommend Coastal Design, or Lisa, enough! I visited her store after doing a search for window covering stores in the area. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety and options she has in her store and also how helpful she was through the entire process. I had an idea in mind of what I wanted and Lisa helped that idea come to full form. She worked closely with my from start to finish to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and in my price rang. Even though they did cost quite a bit, I know that it was worth the money spent as I am so please with the drapes and shades that I had installed. If any more window covering projects arise in the future for me I know where I will be going!
