Gino’s Sicilian Express

My boyfriend and I used the 5 for 10 deal and got a personal pizza with side cease salad. The food was great, and the service was pleasant. However if they didn’t offer that Unilocal deal I would never have gone there, because it’s a bit pricey. It very small and in the summer pretty hot. I think I’ll go again and get the lunch combo deal because that seems reasonable.

This is a 3 star joint. Pizza is decent, I’ve had much better in SF and NYC. Actually try Patxi’s that’s the best pizza in SB.
Anyway, their prices went up recently by 50 cents.

Didn’t take our axxess deal/​then months later another employee did… Odd. The first girl said they don’t do the deal anymore but. They even have an ad in the axxess book so, that’s not true. (This is for the whole pizza deal)
Didn’t give me my axxess discount even after looking at the card… (This is for the 10% off)
Small… It’s cramped so we never really sit down to eat here
Not very friendly. The employees don’t talk much. Not sure why… Not many smiles.

The crust is perfection. The pizza is is exceptional. Try the Polpette pizza. If you’re watching what you eat (weight wise) this place isn’t for you. I gain about 5 pounds after every pizza here but I just can’t stop. This pizza is better than Rustys. With that said, it’s the best pizza in town. I highly recommend it. They can improve with their beer selections though. Too many awesome breweries in town to at least not carry one good beer on tap. If you download the Unilocal at, you can buy the $ 5 for $ 10 deal. The ranch isn’t bad either. You get %10 percent off if you check in as well.
Location: Great! Right off of state street. On figueroa I believe. Not a lot of space for customers to eat, but they have a tiny table outside that you can sit at.
Price: For a large specialty pizza, you’ll pay about $ 22+ dollars. Not bad.

As good as any NYC joint. Even the oil drips the right way when you fold the slice, the right way.
If you eat pizza with one hand folded this is as good as it gets outatown

Horrible customer service! Called tonight for delivery at 8:17 and was told they were not delivering for the rest of the night. When I asked what time they stop taking delivery orders, was told 8:30. This has happened several times. When I asked to speak to a manager he basically said if you don’t like it, don’t call back.
It’s a shame because I have been eating her for over 3 years and they make a good pie. However, with all the pizza options in town, they should be better to their loyal customers.

I’m quite glad I ignored the one star review from the previous person who didn’t even eat here but still felt a review was necessary.
I stopped in after work looking for a quick bite before meeting a friend for mid-​evening drinks. The space had a couple empty tables and a counter along the wall. I asked the guy behind the counter what slices they had. He said just cheese but if I was willing to wait a couple minutes I could have whatever toppings I wanted up to three for a quarter each. Fair enough. I ordered a slice with two toppings and a soda.
In less than 5 minutes I was served a slice hot from the oven. It was so good I ordered a second slice which arrived before I was even through with the first one.
If you’re looking for a quick and inexpensive place to get a couple of tasty slices, don’t walk past this place or you’ll miss out!

Came in w my two young boys. Asked if they had slices. Yes. But I couldn’t see them to determine how big they were. I asked the counter girl if I could see the pie/​slices. All she has to do was slide the pie out and show me. That was too much trouble. She rolled her eyes at my request, pointed to a pizza tin on the wall which tell nothing. Are you joking!!! SHOW ME THE SLICE so I can see if I need to order 4 or
5 or 6 for me and my sons. Guess what? I ordered nothing and walked out. Keep your food and your attitude. I guess the other Unilocal reviews regarding bad attitudes are true. Bye.

This place is awesome! Great atmosphere, great customer service. It was as if a little piece of New York found itself a warm nook in the heart of Santa Barbara’s art district. Thank you guys for the great Chicken Parm Panini!

Gino’s have some great deals on Unilocal,so remember to check in for 10% off and/​or buy a $ 5 for $ 10 deal. It is a small joint with a few tables inside for those who want to dine-​in. It does not have too much décor, but the ambiance of the place feels old.
Got garlic knots and hot wings to-​go to eat in the office. Some of the wings were small, one of them looked like most of the meat fell off while it was cooked. We never tried garlic knots before and they turned out to be good. They were basically bread sticks in a ball form. I like the accompanying ranch sauce that they provided with the knots. It doesn’t taste like regular ranch.
Overall, the quality and taste of the wings and garlic knots are similar to Domino’s or Pizza Hut. With the exception that Domino’s and Pizza Hut do not offer garlic knots. However, because of its proximity to my workplace, I see myself coming here again for quick and cheap lunches. Maybe next time I will try their pizzas since all the Unilocalers that gave the place 5 stars talked about how great the pizzas are.

Great quick pizza — fresh ingredients and fair prices. I love walking by and getting a slice. There is a good lunch deal with a slice, soda, and salad for $ 6.
If I lived here I would call in and pick up this grub fit game night, watching a movie or heading to the park. Good stuff and friendly staff.

Gino’s is wonderful! My parents were in town staying at one of the hotels on Cabrillo… they wanted pizza and Gino’s was rated really well so we thought to give a try. The person who took our order over the phone was so nice and patient (I didn’t know the exact address of the hotel and had to look it up…). The delivery person brought it right to the door in the amount of time they said it would take. The pizza was hot and the salads were perfect. We ordered two large pizzas and two salads — $ 50 and enough for 5 people.
The pizza was on point — definitely the best I’ve had in SB. We would certainly go back to Gino’s!

When I use to work a few blocks away this was my go to place on Friday’s. I could totally eat here more than one day out of the week though. Yes, it’s that good!
My go to order is usually the pizza combo. This includes a cheese or pepperoni slice, salad, and soda for $ 6 bucks. Deal right? The pizza slice is pretty BIG and about the size of two slices.
It has a real italian flavor to it unlike any other pizzerias in town. I love the Italian herbs they use which makes it extra special.
They also offer chicken wings, paninis, garlic knots and calzones. I love the salami panini and pastrami. The bread is freshly made to order and it’s more like a pizza dough instead of regular bread. Very good!

Great pizza!
Ordered from Gino’s several times before and have always had a great experience. The toppings are fresh and the pizza is always cooked perfectly. The sauce isn’t too saucy either.
The service is consistently friendly and prompt.
The pizza is a bit pricey but you can taste the quality you’re paying for and it never leaves you feeling greasy.
Also ordered their Mediterranean salad on many occasions. It’s also consistently good with plenty of fresh veggies.
Well done Gino’s. I will be back!

My family of 6 and I are in SB for a mini beach vacay and wanted to order in pizza for our first night in after a long day of driving. I’m so glad the hubby spotted Gino’s on Unilocal.I was a little hesitant at first since they are an «express» place but we really wanted simple delicious pizza and that’s what we got!
We ordered 2 XL veggie pizzas and 2 salads and the total was just $ 44. That’s GREAT to feed a family of 6! Make sure to check their specials online which is where we found the deal:

The pizza itself was delicious and so were the salads. The pizza was not super thin and just perfect. The toppings were fresh. If you get jalapenos, they use fresh jalapeño, not pickled, which makes the pizza a bit spicier, but so good! The salads were also very good, fresh, and not just lettuce like a lot of pizza shops. Their ranch dressing tastes different — in a good way –definitely made in house.
We will definitely be coming back here! Thank you Gino’s!

1 of the best spots in the Santa Barbara area for new york style pizza. Not many good places in this area so if you’re from back east and looking for good slices or a pie this is one of the best in town.
