I went for my birthday and was welcomed by the crowd of regulars having an amazing party time in the middle of the day. Bring a towel and water! She rocks… and rocks… and rocks!

If you are reading this you know you want to go. Just go! I have been taking this class for about a year. I go with my two girls(20&17) and we all love it. You can’t leave this class without smiling. The first time I took it I just laughed. I couldn’t do everything but I still had a great time. Every different type of person you could imagine takes this class and that is brilliant. What a rare gem Josette is. Truly funny, energetic and welcoming. After years of hiking and yoga, it feels great to do something with a community feel to it. It is really hard to try something new but I encourage you to do it. The girls who punch your card are sweet, Josette is amazing and the crowd just folds you right it. Do it!

Zumba with Josette is like partying with friends. The energy and friendly crowd is so powerful. Everyone is there just to have a good time and sweat. Bring a towel! I checked it out in a Wednesday when it is bring a friend for free and loved the workout. Her music is up to date and the hour flies by. Parking on the street is difficult but the city parking lot is free for the first hour. Buy your pass online. The 12 class is the best deal!

This review has basically been three or four years in the making. I compose it over and over again in my head whilst shimmying across the ballroom floor, yet have not yet taken the time to write it out. It has grown from a few days a week in the tiny dance studio to a massive operation in the big ball room. When I first started, it was $ 7 to pay for a one off class, now it is $ 15. I don’t take her class regularly, as I live in London, but come home to visit my parents I take it 3 – 4 times in a week for the duration of my visit. The 12-class punch cards are perfect for me, and even though they technically expire 90 days after purchase, they’ve always let me use my ‘expired’ punches. They do take cards, for the record. What I appreciate about this class: –It is a very traditional Zumba class(many of the ones I take in London are Zumba in style, but not Zumba music). She pretty much sticks to actual Zumba songs and the traditional Zumba dance styles(salsa, merengue, cumbia, etc.) –From those more official Zumba songs, she picks good ones, overall. –People love this class. They just adore her and the vibe in all its… well, I’ll get to that in the gripes section. But I really appreciate how much everyone appreciates this class and the instructor. It is great to see people truly love a cardio workout. She loves getting the regulars involved by bringing them up on stage –The choreo is a nice balance between ‘dancy’ and ‘aerobic’. Sometimes instructors fall too much in the latter category for me and I get bored. Her choreo is very easy compared to other instructors, but still not boring in its simplicity, like some. — The attendants are truly a diverse group of people. More men than most dance-based fitness classes I’ve been to, a whole range of ages, visible fitness levels, dance capabilities, etc. My few gripes: — The music is a bit too loud and sometimes hurts my ears. And no, I’m not sensitive to such things, but as a musician, I do value reasonable loudness. Especially when there are claves involved. — You have to embrace the cheesiness of it all. And it is a bit much on the ‘sparkle, love life and embrace joy’ front for my cynical self. But everyone else loves it so I wouldn’t change this at all. — I hate going ‘whoop whoop’. Especially when she asks for ‘whoops’ when it isn’t clear how many beats one should wait to repeat it. Though I’ve noticed in the past year she’s been much better about this. My gripes are very much MY gripes. People love her and this class, so I wouldn’t change a thing for my selfish self, but thought I’d put them out there anyway. I’m very appreciative of this class when I come home for the holidays, as well as all the care and energy Josette and her team put into this production.

Hands down… the best Zumba class in town! Its always packed, a lot of energy, great music and amazing instructor! I guess this is the key for such a successful class. Josette is a graceful, energetic individual She is 100% in the class, with fun choreographs, easy to follow, and everybody’s can go their own pace. Going to her class is like going to a party, the only difference is that nobody needs a partner to dance like nobody is watching. :) I am an Esthetician, and when I my clients tell me their stress level, I immediately refer them to this class. In top of all that, her Twelve classes card… is the best deal in town. Try it, you would love it! Thank You Josette! Your are the best!
