Beautiful store with a large variety of beautiful yarn. The young lady who helped me was very hospitable and helpful. She made me feel like I had been coming in for years. I will be back on my next trip to Santa Barbara.

I have been knitting for nearly 25 years, and was blessed to stumble upon Loop and Leaf awhile back. I have learned more in the last 5 years at Loop at Leaf than in the 20 years before that. Celeste Varner, the owner is not only talented, she is both creative and brilliant, and she shares her knowledge and skills with generosity and an open heart. You can purchase yarn there KNOWING that you are purchasing the correct amount, the appropriate skill level for YOU, and that you WILL get help all along the way until you have a beautiful completed piece. Celeste has created Loop and Leaf to be a great community of knitters; it is great for hanging out and knitting, for purchasing the highest quality and compassionately made yarns, and for getting expert help. Us Loop and Leaf groupies are completely spoiled, and feel so taken care of and loved. Thanks Celeste!

This is a local treasure. For someone like me, who is an avid but not expert knitter/crocheter, Loop & Leaf is a godsend. My friend and I love the open studio on Wednesday evening, where you can connect with other knit/crochet lovers and learn new tricks. Celeste, the owner, is so knowledgeable and happy to help you get through the tricky parts in your project. Plus, the yarns she stocks are amazing. They’re so beautiful they make you want to buy them all and just knit all day. If you love using those knitting needles or crochet hook like I do, definitely become a regular if you’re a local. If you’re not a local, definitely make it a stop on your next trip through Santa Barbara. You’ll be happy you did!

Cute little house converted to a shop that is warm and friendly. They fit a lot of beautiful yarn into the couple of rooms that the shop occupies, along with books, equipment, project samples, and a large table for classes and meetings of friends to craft together. I went looking for fiber and needle-felting tools and I found some, reasonably priced, considering that it’s Santa Barbara. It’s set off of State street, which makes it(slightly) easier to find parking. I don’t knit or crochet, so I can’t tell you much about the specifics of what they offer, but I could see that they have a lot. They also will turn your little sausage of yarn(a hank?) into a ball. I believe that makes it a final sale, so just make sure that it’s the yarn you really want to use. The girls that work at the shop are very friendly and seem to know many of the customers by name. They were not upset at the fact that I had children with me, like some craft shops that tend to get nervous or worried that the serenity will be broken, I very much appreciate that!

Attention Fiber Lovers! Loop & Leaf is a must stop on your itinerary. We needed a fiber fix and we were happily satisfied by stopping at L&L. They have a great selection of mainly organic fibers and the color selections are marvelous. We were welcomed by friendly people and were tempted to sit, stay a while and knit with them at the big table. I believe the prices were on par with other fiber stores of this quality. Next time we are in the area we will be back!

Adorable yarn shop! I visit Santa Barbara frequently to peruse State St. This is only about a block off of State and worth the small detour. Very nice people and great selection!

Went there yesterday before returning to l.a. What a beautiful little house turned into yarn shop/knitting classes/everything you need for your projects. The girls that work there are very nice and helpful. They have very unique yarns and they even make your hanks into balls for you! Will come back the next time im in sb. ;) Will post pictures later too!

I went to Loop and Leaf back in January 2013 and absolutely loved the space! They have some great yarns including, the hard to come by, Brooklyn Tweed! I have ordered BT over the phone with them twice now and both times I received my yarn in record time and the staff was very helpful. Next time I visits Santa Barbara I’m stopping by and you should too!

Loop & Leaf was my last stop on a drive down the coast/yarn store visiting trip that I took in June. It is a lovely store, in a lovely city. High end yarn is just what I was looking for on this trip so the shop was perfect. I did find something that I had not seen before(one of my goals) — hand spun and hand painted from Tanglewood Fiber Creations. The owner had great suggestions for what to do with it and looked up patterns for me. The shop also has some great little items that would be perfect gifts for knitters — lovely little stitch markers, measuring tapes that look like little animals, cute reading(or knitting) glasses. I will definitely return next time I am in SB.

This is a very cute shop that has some of my favorite LYS features. There are nice places to sit and knit, they serve tea, the wind all yarn(even sale yarn), and they have toys for kids. They have a small sale section, but I found some decent stuff there. The folks here were pretty friendly but it was weird that there was a cleaning person there. They carry nice stuff, but mostly high end. This means that it is a very expensive shop. They didn’t carry the standard things I look at for price comparisons but it was easy to see that everything was pricey there.

Loop & Leaf is a great new-ish addition to SB’s yarn store options! Celeste, the owner, is very friendly and totally accessible. She also sells tea(loose-leaf or by the cup), so it’s a yarn/tea shop, hence the name. The store is in the front of an adorable little house on a very short and cute street, and is spacious, with 3 separate rooms for knitting and sipping. Her selection is good — she has a lot of woolly options, including yummy cashmere, and Habu, which I haven’t gotten into(yet) and don’t know much about. But it looks awfully fun! There is a small parking lot in the back, and there’s usually enough street parking, though pay attention to street-sweeping signs so you don’t get a ticket.
