This is the one decent swimming pool in Santa Barbara. It’s one I grew up with, they have a great swim team, and the people who swim here during lap swims are kind and courteous. The locker rooms are big, and parking is easy. During the summer, they are the only«rec swim» with a diving board and kids always have fun. Plus, I know their lifeguarding staff is well trained– so I always feel good going here.

One of the most beautiful places in the world to swim! Located between the harbor and the beach, this 7 lane 50 meter pool is surrounded by tall palm trees. There is public lap swimming as well as professionally coached workouts for youth and adults every day!

The hours here suck. I don’t know why some websites say they’re open from 5 am until sun down, because they are not. They have really odd hours. Something like a couple of hours in the morning, then a couple of hours in the afternoon. Different hours on the weekend, where they are planning to even close down on Sunday. I can’t even get the scheduling right because it’s so complicated and ill-advertised. 5 bucks to get in also. Pool is pretty filthy. Come on Santa Barbara, being that close to the ocean, you would think that water sports would be a bigger focus.
