Ralphs Grocery

Great selection of meats, vegetables, dairy and snacks. I really love that Ralph’s is open late. I usually come late at night, because during the day, the drivers around the complex are very irritating.

If you want to go to a store and have the best customer service come here! They have the friendliest most helpful employees that go above and beyond. I went in with my 2yr old and the bakery department was so beyond amazing with her help. She found exactly what I needed for my sons birthday cake that no other store was able to do. Her name is Alicia. As I’m walking out another employee offered to throw my toddlers snack trash away for me and offered if I needed his assistance for anything. Just in the 10 minutes I was there they were awesome and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else! :o)

I went shopping there today, and asked the bakery people if they had any pretzel rolls – a new favorite – and was (momentarily) disappointed to learn they did not. However, a baker named Mara was quick to offer to make them then and there, on the spot, in the event I would be shopping for 10 minutes or so. Together with Maria, also in the bakery department, those ladies knocked those rolls out speedily, and were ready for my pick-​up after I had finished shopping. Warm and appealing as could be, so were these employees.
Further, all the clerks have a great attitude, and are über efficient when it comes time to go through line. Shout out to the clerk and bagging assistant who helped me today – I am only sorry I didn’t jot down your names.
This store rocks.

This is where I shop several times a week, so there are definitely things I like about the store. However, they need to do a much better job training their baggers. The baggers are mostly young kids, so I’m not expecting a serious professional. But… they should not be talking to other employees about their social lives while they’re working. I do not want to listen!!! And while they’re so involved in conversation they are not paying attention to what they’re doing. I just had a purchase and was using 3 cloth bags. The bagger made one bag so heavy that I couldn’t lift it and another bag held only a bag of chips. When I mentioned to her that I would have to repack my groceries when I got to my car, she just laughed.

Just got some ribs for under 5bucks mmmm delicious :)

Don’t go here — just go to Von’s down the street. The few times I went here, they over-​charged me. Once it was for meat that was «on-​sale» — looked at the receipt in my car and saw that it was not the sale price — we had paid double. Getting a refund was like pulling teeth. Second time it was some stupid cookies — they were stacked on a table with a sign saying $ 2.99 — they charged us 6.99. It was a measly $ 4 but we were still in the store so thought it would be an easy fix — NOT!!! FRUSTRATING and not worth it.
I will never shop here again.

Quality and customer service are slipping.
The last time I bought fish here it was mushy… I assume it had been frozen.
Also, the way they display wine prices is unethical. The wine has two prices, a low price if you buy more than six bottles and a higher price if you don’t. The problem is that the signs have the six-​bottle price in 3-​inch lettering and the real price (if you buy one bottle) in half-​inch lettering. This is very deceiving marketing and as a result I no longer buy wine here.

I forgot my Ralph’s card and I couldn’t get the phone number right in the keypad so the cashier scanned his Ralph’s card from his keys which was very generous of him to do :)
Best grocery store in Goleta (seriously, IV Albertson’s and Vons doesn’t compare).

If this place was a dude, I’d sooo date him. My starter broke in front of this Ralphs and they let me leave my car parked up front for 3 days.
As for the store: People in Santa Barbara generally don’t smile when you walk into their store or ask if you need help or have been helped. that’s because all those friendly people are working at this Ralphs! I am treated so kindly when I go to this place and for me, that is more than a customer could ask for. The merchandise is always stocked, the checkers are friendly, sometimes the baggers are even witty, the manager was super nice to me when my car wouldn’t start.
There is a Natural Foods, bank, thrift store, Super Cuts, and neighborhood bar (Monty’s) in the same shopping center so it’s kind of a one-​stop-​shop deal. I’m lucky to live near it :)
