Toddy’s Christmas Trees

Toddy’s Christmas Trees could NOT be more adorable. It is run by Todd and his family as well as a few hires they get for some extra help. They are all incredibly nice people and you’ll find them always being extremely helpful (even though I’ve seen some horribly rude customers come through– can’t believe how some customers act during the Holiday season!!) They are located in the SB Bowl parking lot and do an incredible job making it look like the North Pole instead of a parking lot. Their trees are beautiful and their entire set up makes buying a Christmas tree a truly magical family affair. **They literally have mini tractors and things for children to play with while on the lot!!** You won’t find a prettier tree or a better experience anywhere else in Santa Barbara.
ALSO: Their delivery guy is SO sweet. He sometimes has help, and is sometimes all on his own but is always happy and so helpful getting the tree into my house and putting it exactly where I want it and makes sure it is perfectly straight. Absolutely deserves a $ 20 bill in tip alone!

This place is great. I showed up here last year as they were closing down at probably 8:55 a few days before Christmas and nobody was rude or short with me. They all greeted me and explained to me how their pricing system worked and helped me to find a little tree for my house. That is why I came back this year. I brought my girlfriend this time and we weren’t disappointed. I love family businesses and toddy epitomizes this, at the end of the day when all is said and done he is still willing to go to the back and pick through hundreds of trees to help us find the right one. This place is a great little family business, friendly owners who are willing to go the extra mile for you as long as you’re respectful to them!

I showed up at Toddy’s at 12pm on Thursday, knowing it was going to rain around 3. I said «I am here because I am hoping you can deliver a tree before the rain. Can you get it to my house before 2?». He said he would not be able to get it out then. I said fine, I will come back on the weekend. I did not want a wet tree in the house. He asked where I lived and said he had a delivery going there at 1. Great! Picked out an over priced tree, paid for a stand, even tipped him as a friend was going to let in the delivery guys as I was going to be out. 1 goes by. 1:30 goes by. 2 goes by. 2:30 goes by. 3 goes by… It is going to rain. I try calling. The guy has my cell. Why hasn’t he called? I call repeatedly. No answer. 3:30 it is raining. I DRIVE over to this jerk because he WILL NOT PICK UP THE PHONE or call me. I arrive there to see the tree we bought in the EXACT same place we left it!!! The guy is standing there chatting with his girlfriend. I say, in the pouring rain, does your phone work? Yeah. Do you answer it? Ummm my bad. I do not want the tree delivered now. Give me back my money. He tries to give me the money for the tree and stand and keep the tip!

Overpriced and not very cool about how they charge. The woman said the trees were $ 10 a foot which is way over the $ 5 to $ 6 a foot for Douglas firs at the other tree lots in town. So I pick out a tree that is exactly 2″ over my height of 5′ and she tells me the tree is $ 60. I tried to tell her it was my height and she said, «those are going for $ 60. Ridiculous!

Had a great time picking out our tree this year at Toddy’s in the Santa Barbara Bowl parking lot. The salesman was top notch at meeting our needs. We were looking for the perfect tree and he took the time to bring out a few trees that were not out on the floor. Ended up with a beautiful 8 footer. Definitely suggest getting your tree’s here!
