Meet Horus. This friendly hunk of metal and circuitry keeps your packages safe. You know, the packages the delivery company claims to have left on your doorstep. Or the ones they threw carelessly over your fence. Or the ones they«attempted» to deliver, which really means the delivery guy knocked on the door for a second and then ran back to his truck with the package in hand. Yep, Amazon now has a locker delivery program. When making a purchase on Amazon, you can have your package shipped to a nearby locker for pickup at a time that’s convenient for you! This program was rolled out silently, from what I know. I only found out about it from a friend’s review on Unilocal. What gives, Amazon? You’re usually pretty communicative about things. At any rate, each Amazon locker has its own name. Gives them more personality, I guess. Horus is the locker at this 7-Eleven( ) that happens to be open 24 hours. Horus is efficient, friendly, and keeps packages safer than silly humans ever could. So how does it work? When the package is delivered, Amazon will email you a pickup code. Go to the locker and enter the code on the touchscreen, and voila! A door pops open with your package inside. It’s that simple! A little unnervingly simple, if you ask me. For items to be eligible for delivery to an Amazon locker, they must be sold or fulfilled by Amazon, weigh less than 10 lbs, and be less than 11.8×11.8×11.8 inches in size. Items must be picked up within three weekdays, or they’ll be returned to Amazon for a full refund. Incidentally, this is a way to refuse a shipment if you happen to get buyer’s remorse!
