fried chicken was good, pork and potato stew was ok.

I worked till 10:30 and craving for hot spicy food so KKT was open and i order a casserole. It was pretty good but I shouldn’t order chicken casserole. I think i will try kimchi casserole next time

chicken hot pot stew was great. the meat was tender and juicy, probably organic or cage-free. we rarely get chicken this fresh and tasty by itself! open late, which is another plus. not sure why the mixed reviews… our service was very friendly, and kimchi pancake was good. it included pieces of chicken too, a nice bonus.

The only reason I went there was for the 4 stars Unilocal review. I have had good and authentic Korean food before and this place is no where near good. The service was horrible and slow, we had to ask for everything twice. That’s one thing, but the food was even more disappointing. We ordered the seafood pancake, but there was no seafood in those pancakes whatsoever(they should call them vegetarian pancakes). We also ordered the bibimbap and It was OK, I’ve had better at other places.

Clear chicken soup is great even though it is too enough for one person. Open until 2am is also good.

This place is like a small family type of restaurant that has a variety of dishes. Most of the people got the whole fried chicken. The Banchan was a little too spicy(a lot of it tasted similar). We got the fried chicken wings which was pretty good and a kimchi soodubu. The night we went was very busy and there was only one server/waitress for all the tables so service a little slow. Overall, due to the prices, not sure we’d ever come back.

When we first arrived, we had high hopes of this place. It’s a small restaurant with mint chocolate chip ice cream walls. The place was clean and the waitress greeted us at the door. However, this was the last time we would see her at our table for the remaining of the meal. We had to lose an arm and a leg to get their attention. As the waitress refilled the others tea and water. we watched her walk past our empty cups several times before we waved her down and ask for some more. We ordered the seafood pancake and fried whole chicken. The seafood pancake was undercooked, overfilled with thick pieces of green onion and ONLY contained 5 tiny pieces of octopus. NOT A HAPPYCAMPER! The chicken was okay, it tasted like a Costco chicken dropped in a gallon of hot oil. It was only cut into 4, forcing us to ask for scissors to cut it into smaller workable pieces. Overall, I would not recommend the seafood pancake and the chicken was overpriced. Next time, I’ll just buy a rot chicken from Costco and put it in the pan with some oil.

My gf came here before me and she was telling me about how great this place was. I was really excited and read generally favorable Unilocal reviews and thought that this was my kind of place. Overall, the food is pretty good and the wait staff is nice and attentive. There were a few problems though… We ordered the sauced fried chicken and when it came out my gf said that it was roughly half the amount that she got when she came here before. Also, we ordered a soup that was hot when it came out but not to the point where it stayed hot for too long which was really unfortunate. I do like how they show kpop videos but there is only one tv and it is in a fairly odd location. Overall, for what they are trying to accomplish(at least it seems like a place where you can get some group food and drinks) it seems awfully too bright in there.

Kko Kko Taang is no Jang Su Jang or Han Sung BBQ, but it had a lot of heart. For a restaurant open until 2 am on the weekend, the ambience is not as nice as Jang Mo Jip a block away, which is a little dim and looks like the set of scene from a Korean drama. In contrast, Kko Kko Taang is brightly lit and is a «hearty» place to eat. My group of seven ordered the Chicken stew, BBQ short ribs, marinated BBQ chicken, spicy seafood rice cake, haemul pajun, and two bowls of rice. The BBQ short ribs and marinated BBQ chicken were impeccable. They were brought on sizzling stone plates over a bed of onions. The meat was juicy and savory. The spicy seafood rice cake was spicy and chewy, and it reminded me of the rice cakes sold at Yewon Bakery in the same plaza. The side dishes were great too. They reminded me of the side dishes I had from Sidedish, a store in the same plaza. Maybe I am overthinking where the ingredients came from, but everything was great. My favorites were the chicken stew that was served in a soup wok over a portable gas burner and the haemul pajun. If you put the rice into the stew, it tastes even richer and more delicious. There was an extremely generous amount of chicken in the wok, and it was really fresh, but you need good chopstick skills to eat around the bones. The haemul pajun was easily the best I’ve had in weeks. I like it more than Jang Su Jang’s, Han Sung’s, and Jang Mo Jip’s. The only criticism I have is that the barley tea was too diluted. Too much water and barely any barley. I’m giving five stars anyway. With seven people, our total came out to about $ 18 per person. We had an awesome time at Kko Kko Taang.

The food here is scrumptious! Definite comfort food with the pork belly or all the assortments of meats! The traditional fried chicken blends nicely with their clear radish ban chan!

Kko Kko Taang sounds like something new NASA developed for astronauts to drink up in space, just a new flavor to help them sleep better while floating in weightlessness. But it is actually a Korean restaurant that specializes in on-the-table, propane powered stews, sort of a hot pot or Shabu Shabu, but Korean style. They are also well liked for their moist and tasty fried chicken. Actually, they have a pretty complete menu, with the usual offerings of meat dishes and banchan for side dishes, and most of the usual suspects you remember or have grown to love with this ethnic cuisine. The restaurant is owned by a mother and daughter team, with help from our cute and attentive waitress, Melody Song. The restaurant is in a little strip mall right on El Camino. If you don’t pay attention, you might drive past it. Inside it is clean and orderly, but simple and unassuming. We had a good smattering of banchan that was pretty tasty, along with our stew, and a bottle of soju got us in the mood to enjoy the meal that much more. We had good service from Ms. Song and had a good time here. We weren’t super hungry, so we didn’t order a lot, but still it was very reasonable for the two of us, at only $ 34 with the soju included.

Went here based upon the Unilocal reviews. The place was packed on a Wednesday night(around 8pm). Fortunately they had an open table and we were seated after only a few minutes of waiting for the hostess to free up. Given that we were the only people not speaking Korean in the restaurant, I had high hopes! But they were horribly understaffed that night, with just a single and clearly frazzled waitress doing her best to cover a full restaurant. As such, it took forever to have our order taken(spicy baby octopus and boiled pork hock with a bottle of Cass). And when the food started to arrive, it did so in strange order: rice and octopus(which was indeed spicy as the hostess had warned), then the marinated side dishes about 5 minutes later, and with our mouths burning and our water glasses long emptied, we had to beg for them to bring us our beer. Don’t get me wrong — the service was always friendly and they were obviously working very hard — but when staffing is insufficient, the overall dining experience suffers. Food… was fine. Did not blow any doors down. We enjoyed all the side dishes and the octopus was good and spicy. But the pork was a bit dry despite being encapsulated in plenty of fat and skin(which is what I love about pig’s feet in general). And maybe it’s traditional but it was served with only 4 things, 2 of which I would not touch — big chunks of raw garlic and raw jalapeño. The other 2 things — a shrimp sauce and the standard bean paste — were nice but not enough to make this a memorable meal. We won’t be in a hurry to return, especially with so many good Korean restaurants in the area. For example, we definitely preferred the food next door at Shu’s.

Tried their Chicken Stew which was very delicious. The staff are super nice and accommodating since I can’t take too much spice. The side dishes were good. Can’t wait to come back and try their fried chicken.

surprisingly good. didn’t have high expectations for kam ja tang(pork and potato stew), but the spice was nice and complex and everyone enjoyed it. watch the splatter while it heats at your table. also had a haemul pajun and yang nyum tong dak(lightly battered, maroon garlic sauce) which were good as well. open late. attentive service – hope they do well.

My friends were looking for a late night place to eat and found this place thanks to Unilocal! It was around 11pm when we ate here and there was only one other table eating there. This place is pretty new and according to our waitress it’s only been open for a month! The décor here is very modern and clean. The utensils are kept in this plastic(but looks wooden) box on your table which makes it look less cluttered. When we were there, the TV was playing KPOP music videos the entire time so that was pretty entertaining. The service here was great. Our waitress was very helpful when we asked her questions about the menu. I got the spicy chicken and veggies soup which was perfect for the cold night. It wasn’t too spicy and there was plenty of flavor. Lots of chicken and veggies in it! My bf ordered the beef pancake and the spicy raw snapper. The pancakes here are HUGE! When I saw their prices, I thought they were kinda expensive($ 15 for the beef and seafood ones) but when I saw how big they are, it made more sense. It was nice to try something new and get the beef pancake but next time I think I’ll stick with the kimchi or seafood pancake. The raw snapper was an interesting dish. It was kinda like a spicy sashimi salad, except more sashimi and less salad. Some of the sashimi pieces didn’t seem thawed all the way so that was a little disappointing. My friends got the fried chicken wings which came in a very thick sauce. For the price($ 17), we didn’t think this dish was worth getting again. The flavor was good but the sauce was so thick that after eating 1 – 2 pieces we didn’t really want to eat more of them. Our meal came with 6 side dishes and one of our favorites were pieces of veggie pancake. I will probably come here again and try out some different dishes and their food + drinks combos!

My friend and I were driving by and decided to try it out. Quite an extensive menu. We ordered the chicken soup(Dalk Dori Taang) and soju combo. The wait staff were very friendly, and spoke english — and were good about making suggestions. The standard korean side dishes showed up first. I love the gochujang laced vegetable side dish — not sure what it was called. The kimchi was great too. The soup arrived, with a small stove to keep it cooking at the table. Wow, talk about comfort food. I felt so warm and happy on a cold night out. The gochugaru in the soup added a nice kick to the soup. The soju, well it’s just to gulp down while you enjoy the good food. The place was clean. The service attentive. The food comforting. The price very reasonable. I’m going back soon, one of these cold evenings again.

This is a brand new restaurant that specializes in fried chicken. The chicken is specially seasoned and fried whole, then they cut it into a few big pieces for you. The chicken we ordered was delicious and cooked to perfection. It was juicy and the skin was nice and crispy and flavorful. This is the best fried chicken I ever had(much better than KFC) and we will definitely be going back. The food is served with typical Korean side dishes that were very good. It also comes with a bowl of radishes. The waitress was very quick and attentive. It would have been nice to have a knife and fork for the chicken. Eating a whole chicken with chopsticks isn’t very easy. They probably have these other utensils if you ask for them but we didn’t bother to ask.

It’s nice to go to a Korean restaurant that actually cares about the quality of their food. You can tell they make it with LOVE :) We went there on a Wednesday night and being it’s a new place it was pretty busy. We were seated immediately and our waitress took care of our drink order as we sat down, can’t go wrong with Soju and beer :) The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, as this was our first time there we asked for her recommendations, ALL of them were GREAT! My favorite dish there is the whole fried chicken, it’s not greasy, skin is crispy and the meat is juicy. YUM! We also had their«Beef Pancakes» which were to die for! They had string beans, onions and beef in it with a soy based dipping sauce. We also ordered the Chicken and Potato stew which was spicy and flavorful, it was nice to have this dish as it was a cold night. Overall the food is great, the staff is very attentive and they know their menu. I will definitely be coming back to this place over and over!

We have been here twice already. We came opening night and a week after that. It’s a great clean(emphasis on the clean) Korean restaurant. Owned by a mother and daughter team. Who speak English people! No more mimicking with hand gestures and pointing at pictures. Get real Korean food without going with your Korean friends to translate. The whole fried chicken! So good. It’s basically a rotisserie chicken then deep fried, with no batter. The skin is super crispy and the meat is nice and tender and with the salt and pepper and radishes it’s the bomb. We got a little history lesson from the waitress/owner that this is a real traditional Korean dish that isn’t really made anymore and is hard to find anywhere else, and the secret is in the spices! Also we ordered the spicy chicken stew, which was really good as well and we got a tip from the waitress to add udon noodles next time which would be amazing. But be careful it’s like red alarm hot at least for me so if you are sensitive ask them to tone down the spice. It comes in kind of like a hot-pot bowl over one of those portable gas stoves so parents with little kids just a heads up. Lastly we ordered the pancake with the green onions as well with the beef, which I was super excited about because a lot of places only have the seafood option which I’m not crazy about(they have it here too) so I was happy there was another option for a non-seafood lover. Typical Korean side dishes and they aren’t stingy with the refills or charge extra which we’ve encountered before. I found the wait staff friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be coming back for more. I can’t wait to try more of the dishes. Another thing to mention is they have a good selection of Korean Beer and Soju, a must with Korean food!
