I bought a ticket online to see SCU vs. BYU on New Year’s Day. When I ordered the ticket I was very happy to get a seat on the front row of the upper level close to center court. I knew the seating capacity was only 4,500 so I was counting on seeing a game from close up. Upon arriving I found my aisle seat was right behind a glass partition and the glare made it very difficult to see one end of the court. I think I got one of the worst seats in the house. I felt like Bob Eucker! As it turns out, the game was not sold out, so I was able to move a row back and more towards the center for a very nice view. Whatever you do don’t buy a ticket for Section 204 Row A Seat 17. You won’t be happy. With the exception of my assigned seat, at a cost of $ 40, the rest was very agreeable. I will know what to avoid next year.

Perfect place to watch Gonzaga dominate Santa Clara!!! Fans weren’t too friendly to non-SCU fans. Oh well, we had a great time.

Went here for a basketball game tonight. It was pretty fun and the event center is super nice. I really liked the facilities and the parking that was available. The seats were surprisingly comfortable but I’m glad I wasn’t on the bleachers. They could do with a few more food options… but that’s about it

Seen a couple SCU vs. Gonzaga basketball games over here which were always fun. Ronnie Turiaf & porn star mustache diabetic boy Adam Morrison were fun to watch. My friend at Portland told me they used to throw sugar packets onto the court to make fun of him for being a diabetic. Haha! I saw Steve Nash give a 10 minute somewhat hung over speech(from drinking with students at The Hut the night before) here my Senior Year during the school’s presidential/beginning of the school year speech during the first week of classes. And as for concerts, I’ve probably made around $ 500 selling tickets to concerts(like Maroon 5, Death Cab for Cutie, Jimmy Eat World, The Starting Line, Sum 41, The Roots, Tracy Morgan, etc.) over here on CraigsList and charging my friends a premium who waited until the last second to decide on going when the concert was already sold out. I’ve seen The Roots, 40 Watt Hype, Jurassic 5, Dilated Peoples, Mos Def, Mickey Avalon, Von, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony(minus Bizzy Bone), Girl Talk, Jupiter Rising, Lupe Fiasco, The Knux, etc. perform over here. If you go to a concert here and you’re still of college age, you have to get general admission floor tickets and mosh next to the stage with the rest of the SCU college crowd. Just beware of white girls trying to crowd surf to the front. They often get tossed off to the side of the stage. I’ve even seen Mr. Danny Tanner, Bob Saget do one of his raw and uncut comedy shows over here. Hilarious!

Leavey Center is the best center to see a basketball game in the Bay Area. Better than Maples. Better than Hass. Better than the Event Center. The remodel was awesome. You have great seats and sightlines. The lighting is fantastic. The glass windows are beautiful. And the food is cheap and good. In fact, the food is better and cheaper than any other venue around. I love coming to games here because you can always get a good seat and if you feel like splurging a little you can buy a courtside seat for only $ 15.00, the best deal ever. Last year, I saw the Stanford women play the Santa Clara women play and I sat on the floor. What a great treat to see Candace Wiggins play, she is amazing.(too bad they lost in the finals) The staff at Leavey is really nice, no attitude like at Stanford. They pass out programs, smile, bring you to your seat and look after you. The sound could be upgraded though. It is shreeky, shrill and hurts your ears. Plus it is way too loud for that small space. It makes your ears ring. Tone it down a little will ya. No money for parking either and that removes another big expense. So take your kids or take your family or take a date, you will be happy about going and spending a nice evening out.

I saw mos def here last week, the acoustics were horrible! that’s all i have to say about the actual center. In general, the show was sponsored by a very disorganized student group.

I’ve only been here for shows so I can’t comment on the athletic events. Saw Death Cab and Jurrasic 5 here. Cool small venue but the acoustics kinda suck and are echoe-y. I guess as long as they have good cheap shows I’ll still go however. Just need to plug into the soundboard somehow!
