They serve very good tasty home made kimchi. Pan fried soondae is my favorite.

The food is decent but service is horrible. I came here three times and each time gets worse. The owner first argued with me and told me that they can’t give me additional side dish when they only gave us enough for 1 person when we ordered for three. Also today I just ordered something to go and she charged me $ 0.50 per to go box when the order was a to go order. This makes no sense, just saying.

The soondae(#2) is steamy, fresh, and hearty. The spicy stew is o.k., comes with lots of intestine which I am not used to but was a unique eating experience. Not a fan of their kimchi.

Good food, friendly service. This place is pretty small but they have a great selection of food. Their spicy soondae kuk(spicy blood sausage soup) it was amazing. Can’t wait to try their other dishes as well.

I am not Korean. My wife isn’t either, but she is Asian. We stopped in to this local restaurant to try soondae, the Korean blood sausage. First of all, Ms. Lee(the owner?) is very nice and charming. The restaurant is pretty and clean. I ordered #12, the pork cutlet. It came with purple rice, slaw and yellow radish. As a matter of fact there is a picture above that looks just like my dish. Very tasty. Next time, I might get the sauce on the side. My wife had #6, the soondae with organ meats and vegetables, stir fried. She loved it. I was hesitant because I am not used to eating organ meats. But I must tell you the sausage, the soondae, is superb. There is no meat inside! I can’t give you the secret recipe but no meat. Lots of other things with a little beef blood. I was very surprised by the recipe and had no trouble acquiring a taste for this kind of sausage. The side dishes were 3: traditional kimchi(homemade, mild taste, not spicy), radish kimchi(excellent with a bottle of beer) and jalapeño-like peppers that weren’t hot. We had a large bottle of beer and let me tell you, there is nothing like Korean comfort food with beer. There are a lot of Korean restaurants in this neighborhood. If you are looking for an authentic, home-style place this just might be the one for you.

The stars are for the nice waitress and the delish kim-chee /kkak-duki. The food itself was average. We tried the soon-dae jung-shik, dduk-boki, and odeng soup. it was worth visiting once. not sure if we’ll make it back.

(: Boba-Foodaholic Says :) My order: Korean Sausage Soup + Spicy Sausage with meat I couldn’t find this place first even with my GPS. This place is located close to Beque and old place of Jin’s Bakery. This is a small place where few seats are available. We went here after looking at several places for Korean Sausage. I couldn’t find any place that mainly makes Soondae. So we went here at night and there were few people eating. There was only one person working at the dinner time, which looked overwhelmed for her. After ordering for the food, we didn’t wait for the food that long because we were the only one who just came in. The one star is for the waitress, who was really nice because when we asked for more water and side dishes, she gave us right away. When we needed more kimchi and the waitress gave us a lot, and I heard owner saying«Don’t give the side dishes too much!» The food wasn’t good at all seriously. The spicy sausage with meat is mostly big chunky vegetables that I never seen and tasted before. I would never use $ 15 for this kind of food. Also, the sausage soup was the worst food because it had no taste even though I put salt and the red sauce. Very disappointing and won’t come back.

Craving for good soondae and the last time I had some good ones was when I was in korea. Okay enough about that, anyway, came here with my cousins and the drive(plus the traffic) was well worth the journey. We arrived at the place located in a tiny plaza right next to dollar tree store and if you’re not familiar or can’t read hangul then it can be easily be missed. Came in late afternoon so the place is barren(aside from the two people that worked there eating lunch) but no worries I kind of like it like that especially when I’m super hungry. We ordered 1 serving each of soondae(w/liver, stomach & tongue), odeng and tonkatsu(w/black rice, danmuji and salad). Soondae was very tasty, spices was also used mildly, not overpowering and the casing gave that crisp snap when you bite into it, Yum! Odeng(fish cake soup) was serve in a dolsot(korean stone bowl) which was still bubbling when brought to our table. Fish cakes had different varities put in it and the slices was big so you can get your fill quickly. Broth contains slices of spring onion, taste wise it’s not too salty and has the right amount of seasoning. Tonkatsu plate had two huge servings of breaded pork with overflowing sauce, thinly cut pork so the meat is still juicy. Cabbage salad with miso dressing and black rice accompanied the tonkatsu order, serving’s good for us three so it’s actually enough for one very hungry person. As with every other korean dish comes banchan(side dishes), radish kimchi, cabbage kimchi, shrimp paste, fish sauce and the salt to dip soondae. The service was a delight because our food came in quick and hot. We were also served barley tea on ice which is very refreshing to go along with our food. The place inside is small but homey with friendly people that works there. Prices are affordable and their menu only consists of one page paper(half of the paper at that) and some postings on the walls in hangul if you can read them. Definitely going back to this place and try some more of what they offer and of course more soondae.

One of my fondest memories of my grandmother was when I was 13 years old visiting Korea for the first time since my immigration here 7 years ago. She took my brother and me to an open area marketplace where there was a food court with ahujmmas(older women) preparing food at their allocated tent location. We sat down at the bench not knowing what was for lunch. The kind owner took out a steaming plump of what looked like sausage from the steamer behind her and sliced it up. I tentatively tried a piece and it was pure bliss. That was when I tried soondae(Korean sausage) for the very first time. Between the three of us I think we consumed three sausages. We were also given other parts of the pig too such as the ears which were also tasty. Well this place brought back memories of my first experience with soondae. Many years after that first time I found out there are different ways to prepare soondae such as spicy stir fry and in soup. You can also get just a soondae plate or if you are feeling really adventurous you can order the everything plate which has the offals like stomach, liver, heart and cartilage. They also have a spicy soondae option. This restaurant is totally Korean where everything is written in Korean. Only thing in English is the description of the menu items. So it is probably best to come with someone who knows the Korean language of the descriptions are not enough. Be aware though they mostly have soondae dishes with a few other dishes like chicken katsu, ttukboki(spicy ricecake), chicken feet, and soontofu. Most of the customers get the combo special which comes with the soondae soup and a small plate of the regular soondae plate for $ 13.

Service 5⁄5 Taste 3.8÷5 –Really authentic Korean place. I mean the specials on the wall are all in korean and the TV is on the Korean channel. Everyone there was speaking korean. –Ordered a #18 and #23. The taste was good and the waitress told us to add the salt(pink stuff?) to the soup. She also told us what to dip the food in. The Korean sausage was different than what I had in mind, but was still good. –if you’ve never eaten pork intestines, blood sausages, or pork liver… this probably isn’t the best choice.

I know what ‘uguhji ‘tastes like. Was more like kimchi added into the soup. Soondae was frozen and so they admitted that they add dwenjang to add flavor to the soup. Overall it was alright but I wouldn’t go again.

They have great service, but the food wasn’t for me. The quality wasn’t bad at all, but most of the things my party ordered just didn’t taste the best for me. We all ordered different things, but the menu doesn’t have a lot of variety to choose from. This isn’t a bad place to eat, but I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

OK… SoonDae was alright, liver was too dry, and ThuckBokGi(stir fried spicy rice cake) was over cooked(soggy) and definitely wasn’t impressive.

Enjoyed thick and high quality soondae. Looks like everyone is satisfied with the food here. Dduk bok ki was also good but I wished the rice cakes could be more chewy.

If you want to strong arm a Korean native with your culinary prowess, chances are you’ll be flexing your might. Even my hardcore friend realized we were going super old school. I even let them pick what we should eat. Got the 2 person combo that came with the SoonDae soup plus stomach, heart, liver, and all the offal you could want; They even serve some of that on the side cold to be eaten with the banchan. I really loved the salty fermented shrimp paste to season said organ meats. My friend couldnt finish pushing me into more Korean cuisine status :) Service was good as we had someone that spoke the language and it was pretty low key at lunch. Definitely going to try some of the other stuff another time knowing that this is old school peasant food that goes way back

If you’re looking for some authentic Korean sausage(aka soondae) either steamed and served with side dishes or cooked into a soup, this is the place. I usually get the Korean sausage soup with lettuce. It’s served with a bowl of rice, brined shrimp, and two types of kimchi — the more common cabbage kimchi and one made from daikon radish. I personally prefer the radish kimchi with this type of hearty soup. Some other menu items include the sausage soup with various cuts of meat such as liver, ear, and also blood cake. I’m not particularly a fan since these cuts of meat tend to have more of that iron taste. They also serve beer and soju, and even have some nice combo deals that include two meals and a bottle of soju. The service is friendly if a little slow at times, since it’s usually just the nice ajumma working the register and waiting the tables. Comes out to an average of 10 – 12 bucks per person, including tax and tip. The food is an excellent value, authentic, and extremely satisfying. Great deal for lunch or for dinner. Once you’re done stuffing yourself, you can go across the plaza to Jin’s Bakery to get yourself some delicious Korean pastries for dessert!

Definitely had better. Very small restaurant Non English or even Brock en English from wait staff. I saw customers walk in, sit down Then walk out. Menus are in plastic holders on table Prices are cheap but items were pretty good. Very minimal side dishes(I think 4dishes) We shared soft tofu soup and a Korean«sausage» platter.
