Yes to their crab cakes and salad! I could eat this every day. Thank you for such great service as well TusCA. I had picked up my order and they were very accommodating. Their turkey burger was point on as well, and of course I couldn’t resist their fries.

Second Christmas for our family and it will definitely be our last. This year’s prix fixe meal was so disappointing. They ran out of filet mignon in the first hour of opening. The wilting of the watercress and salads signified no refrigeration for hours. Our plates were never bussed and our substitute steak and potatoes were room temperature. We wanted to try again after last year’s failure of prime rib and thought the filet mignon would redeem them for a repeat visit. A very sad Christmas meal.

Beware! This restaurant may not honor your reservation. Even though I booked more than a month in advance, they cancelled my reservation an hour before the scheduled time. The guy who called was unapologetic and and showed zero empathy. He said we could sit at the bar, but it’s first come, first serve. What does it say about a restaurant when they don’t honor a reservation? Imagine you made plans to celebrate a big a event, such as a birthday or anniversary and this happened to you. Imagine if they cancelled your reservation in the dining area and offered the bar instead. The caveat is the bar doesn’t have reservations. It’s very clear that TusCA doesn’t care and won’t make any special accommodations. Their first come, first serve policy at the bar is iron clad. No exceptions under any circumstances. Well done, TusCA. Your service is on par with any local McDonald’s restaurant. I expected more and will never be dining there. Fellow Unilocalers, beware of this place. If you’re counting on them to honor a reservation then you may be disappointed. Here is what happened. In mid-October(over a month in advance) I made a reservation for four people on Sunday Nov 29th. Our plan was to go to TusCA for dinner after the 49ers game. The day prior I was reminded of our reservation and asked to confirm the time and notify the restaurant immediately of a cancellation. Since we had every intention of honoring the reservation, I took no action. About an hour before our reservation I received a call from someone at TusCA. I was still at the game, but answered anyway. The man asked if I made a reservation at 5:30pm which I confirmed. He proceeded to tell me that their dining area is actually closed and he doesn’t understand how I made that reservation. However, he said their bar is open and it has a full service menu. Great. So if I show up at 5:30 will I be able to sit at the bar? Well, not so fast. He says their bar is only first come, first serve so there is no guarantee we can be seated. I asked if there was any way to hold a table for us at the bar since we made reservations. He seemed annoyed by my question and reiterated the first come, first serve policy. After some back and forth I could see this was going nowhere so we ended the call.

My mom re-gifted a gift certificate for dinner for two to me for this restaurant. She’s had it for a year and it was set to expire today, so I made reservations for two last night. We arrived at the host stand two minutes behind schedule and were maybe waiting there for 30 seconds until someone came up to seat us. The seats are comfortable. One side being a booth bench with pillows and the other being chairs that resemble the booth. All of the staff was very attentive to us being there. The host was amazing at differentiating the appetizers from the main entrees on the menu for us. For the appetizers we had the crab cakes and calamari. The crab cakes were amazing especially since my friend and I had poorly made crab cakes in Santa Cruz. So for, Santa Clara to offer crab cakes the way their supposed to come was awesome. The calamari was different then usual calamari that I have had but nonetheless delicious as well. The drinks we had were Italian Lemonade. I had the strawberry one and it was delicious. Not as sweet as usual strawberry lemonade so I was stoked on that part. And my friend had the lemonade. For the main entrees my friend had the Shrimp Scampi &NY6oz. The shrimp and steak were amazing. The noodles that came with the shrimp were a bit oily but not enough to change our minds about how good everything was tasting so far. I had the 7oz. Filet Mignon cooked medium. It was amazing and it was paired with something that my server said resembled ratatouille but fluffier. It was delicious. So light and flavorful. Our server was amazing. Extremely kind and constantly checked on us to make sure everything was going fine and tasting good. We communicated with her for a bit and found out she was from Liverpool, England. I don’t recall her name though.(Sorry if you read this):) but she gave off an excellent vibe and made our experience just as great as the food did. For dessert, I was torn between the seasonal gelato(pumpkin spiced) with the biscotti or the seasonal dessert(white macadamia cookie with cranberries topped with the seasonal gelato) but they ran out of the seasonal gelato so she brought me vanilla bean gelato with the cookie AND a biscotti on the side! The gelato was amazing, didn’t feel as heavy as ice cream usually does to me. By the time dessert came we were so stuffed that unfortunately we didn’t get to finish it all but it was delicious the parts we did have. I woke up this morning to a text from my friend saying he still couldn’t get over the meal and thanked me for taking him but I was thankful he went with me. I’ll definitely recommend this place to everybody I know. I work at Levi’s Stadium so if any guests are ever looking for somewhere to eat after a evening game, I’m letting them know TusCa at the Hyatt Regency is just a short walk away! Thank you for the amazing service and food. I’ll definitely be back! Happy tummy, happy customer!

Just came here this morning after a stay in the Hyatt! The all you can eat breakfast is $ 22.5 but it only has the normal breakfast items(nothing special) and the chef’s choice of a savory thing. Today it was smoked salmon, but my party ordered our dishes individually because we wanted our dishes made to order. I think it was a better choice because I couldn’t even finish my plate, let alone go for an all you can eat deal. I got the orange juice. It’s $ 4 but it’s refillable :) :) :) Someone came over to fill up my cup right when it was empty. He was so nice. I got the blueberry pancakes. There were 4 really soft, buttery, yet still crispy on the outside pancakes. They were great. There was some kind of creamy thing on top, with fresh blue berries all around. There was a little cup of syrup and butter for every dish. It was kind of wasteful in my opinion because I didn’t use any of the butter or even half of the syrup. I only ate 1.5 pancakes out of 4 and got full really quickly. I think the breakfast serving is just so big and it was pretty overpriced($ 15) and they probably throw away half the food that they give people. I don’t think eating that much for breakfast is healthy, any how. They should give people to option to make half orders. The server was good but the lady who seated us was soooo horrible. She rushed us when we walked in even though we weren’t sure if we were going to eat there, she ignored us, and when we asked her if she could take the check, she just walked away and said«your server will be right with you». The same orange juice guy came over immediately and grabbed the check for us and then handed the check to our server. I don’t think I saw the seater lady smile once. I wish you could tip certain people and not others…

We were sat promptly at our table and then waited 15 minutes until our waiter acknowledged us. He took our order for a glass of wine and a margarita and literally ran away. About 7 minutes later– ah! A glass of water. Mind you, there were about 28 other diners in the room with 3 servers, 2 bussers, a hostess, and«manager types» wandering around. I subtly waved to the hostess and asked if we could have some bread with our water. 15 minutes later we asked her again. We still hadn’t placed our order but we were really in no rush. So after sitting for about 35 minutes we got our beverages and had to remind our waiter that we wanted to order food. I hedged my bets and ordered a pizza and a salad. My wife ordered a Caesar with salmon. Just as we casually finished our drinks, the pizza and salmon-Caesar arrived. Never saw my salad until we get the bill. It was an evening of lost opportunities. $ 52 no tip. Sorry dude. You should not be in the hospitality business. At 9:55 that night a phone call to our room wakes me up. It’s a «food service supervisor» asking me how my meal was. I hung up. Another missed opportunity.

food was tasteless. cold…we had the breakfast and after leaving went to a fast food place to feed the kids… after paying $ 120 for a family of 5. something felt as if it were missing the staff was helpful. almost as if they knew they had to step it up since the food was sub par. would not go back.

I went here for New Year’s eve and was very excited for the meal after viewing the menu. The excitement, however, quckly disappeared after tasting the food. From start to finish there seemed to be something missing or just flat out not working in each dish. I will not be coming back again.

Attention catering companies and restaurants of the world: Vegetarians like to eat protein. We also like to eat normal-size portions of food. In case it’s not obvious, I attended a catered TusCA dinner where the vegetarian entrée was a potato cake. It doesn’t matter how nicely you plate it, a few bites of vegetable are NOT a meal! I NEEDMOREFOOD! So I ate roll after roll from the bread basket. Cold rolls. Yay. Generally though the food was just meh. Salad wasn’t bad, but the chocolate dessert was uninteresting. How do you go wrong with a chocolate dessert? And it’s not just the catering; the regular restaurant meals are unexciting as well. And the prices are as high as you would expect from a hotel restaurant where most of the clientele is business people on expense accounts. I would give three stars if the service weren’t so bad. I expect high prices and just adequate food at this type of place, but those generally go along with very helpful wait staff. But not here. My friend joined me after I’d already ordered and asked for a glass of wine. 20 minutes later she just cancelled her order. A member of our party asked for her plate without the chicken on it and the server made a big fuss asking if she couldn’t just move the chicken off her plate onto a side dish or if she needed someone to do it for her. Sheesh. This place seems to rely on everyone being stuck with nothing else nearby. If there were other options nearby, it would quickly go under.

Viva la TusCA… came here for another wurrrk lunch! Do wurk, eat food! Atmosphere: A very nice room for our party, but the temperature in that place was like the Arctic Zone. No joke — we asked them to turn up the AC and they were happy to so with some hot tea and turning of the AC, the temp rose! The outdoors area of the restaurant was set up beautifully(special event?). Otherwise, everything was up to nice hotel standards atmosphere-wise. The whole place was vibrant and lots of people. I didn’t get that much special Italian personality from the restaurant, but it was more the large number of enthused people who made the atmosphere — people just seemed relaxed. Menu: You can tell it is fancy because every dressing has a twist. It’s not just balsamic, it is cherry balsamic. It’s not just… okay, you get my point. Pizzas, pastas(one that was apparently supposed to come out and be shaken in a jar according to those in our party who visited previously. shake it up pasta but, alas, they’ve changed their ways), salads, appetizers, and panininis. What a «p» menu. The menu was decently large. A couple especially interesting items were — vegetarian portabella sandwich with eggplant, lobster roll(vegetarian, but lots in our party ordered this), and the Italian Sodas which also come out in very nice containers. Food: They asked if we wanted some complimentary bread, which we all happily accepted. The bread was olive and there were also some little cheesy crisps in the basket. The bread was soft, but didn’t taste the freshest. I ordered the arugula salad which came with my fave beets, ricotta, fennel, and some nice toasted bread. The presentation was very nice, and everything tasted fresh. I was also eyeing my neighbor’s fries — they were thick-cut, but didn’t look like the best fries in the world or anything magical. Overall, a nice lunch. Nothing groundbreaking, but refreshing and tasty.

First the not so good… My husband ordered the bone in rib eye. It was so tough and over cooked(requested med/rare)he had to send it back. He instead ordered the NY Strip which was better, but I just about finished my meal by the time his came back out. You think the waiter would have offered him another glass of red wine to go with the«second» steak. but he didn’t. Also not very good was the espresso tart with caramelized banana. The pastry on the tart was thick and dry. I think I would have enjoyed this much more if they served the caramelized banana and would have put the espresso and whip cream on the side(not as a tart). That is how I landed up eating it anyway and that was good. I really enjoy the caramelized banana! Now the good stuff… I started with the mussels that were tasty but the best part was dipping the crostini bread in the sauce. The lamb was fabulous! Thick, cooked to perfection pieces. It came with an asparagus avocado purée and also a garlic hummus. Both were really good and filling. The waiter was really nice and attentive(except for the wine thing above). If we had a coupon or gift card we would go back but otherwise. probably not.

Does no one work here? Are there no actual people at the hotel that can help you with making reservations/getting more information for making a reservation for dinner for 30 people? I don’t understand. The owners should check in on management since they appear completely unconcerned about business. I actually called multiple times. I either got directed to someone who could not/would not help me, to an answering machine that… let me guess, eats the messages because no one seems to be getting them. Or they’re getting them and just not getting back to me? Either way, just attempting the first step in coming here was a complete fail. This review has nothing to do with their food, obviously, since I couldn’t even arrange for my party to come here.

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency and booked their AAA Auto Club Breakfast package. Breakfast was served every morning of our stay at TusCA. TusCA is located on the first floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. As you enter the hotel from it’s front entrance, TusCA is located on the right side of the hotel. For hotels with Breakfast packages, TusCA has one of the best buffet breakfasts. I had a breakfast date with my daughter 2 mornings in a row since my wife likes to sleep in. TusCA was understanding. Since my wife also needed breakfast, they gave us containers so that my daughter and I could pack some breakfast, so that my wife could have breakfast in the hotel bed. They allowed my daughter and I to abandon our table for about 10 — 15 minutes while delivering the breakfast. The Breakfast buffet is better than other hotels chains that I have been to. They have things that are out on the buffet lines such as scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes, oatmeal, fresh fruit, cheese, prosciutto, smoked salmon and ham. They try to change a dish or two every morning. On the first morning that we were there, they had chilaquiles and banana nut French Toast. The next morning, they replaced these two items with Crab Benedict and something else. In addition to the buffet line items, they also had cooked to order omelets, eggs, French Toast and waffles. The servers did a pretty good job at clearing out our dirty plates and keeping my cup full of coffee. The Crab Benedict is delicious. The Chilaquiles looked like they were mushy, but, it had a nice crunch and flavor to it. They serve great food here for breakfast. If you are traveling and need a nice hotel with a breakfast package, this is the place to stay.

I recently visited this restaurant while attending a knitting convention in the adjacent con center. I wanted to regroup after some intense shopping at the market and looked to see what they had for options to eat. Turns out this night was a huge big pasta and salad buffet night. For $ 20 I got a all you can eat salad, pasta, soups, sides and dessert. For someone who would easily spend more than $ 20 elsewhere getting all those items in one meal, I thought it was pricey but really a fair price for all that food I would be eating. Another appealing thing to me about the menu of that night, was that 80% of the menu was vegetarian which was perfect for me since I don’t eat meat. Honestly, I don’t know if I was tired and recovering from the convention or what — but it was such delightful meal !!! The salad was crisp and tasty, and the lemon vinaigrette was super delicious. They had a lovely amount of shaved parmesan to put onto the salad and a variety of vegetables and lots of great olives to add in too. The pasta was delicious, they had a stuffed ricotta shell and some lemon butter linguine and some mashed potatoes and big pieces of broccoli and tomato soup and many other good things. For me, a really nice highlight was the desserts. I barely had room for dessert but I’m so glad that I took one of their little petite mini bites — because that was supremely delicious. It was a little lemon tartlet with whip crème in the most buttery little cup of awesome. I STILLREMEMBERIT. and this convention was several months ago. For me another thing that is influencing my 4stars, is really the service staff who were there that night and a few things I observed that were really nice. I was constantly attended to. I barely had to look up and around before someone approached me to ask what I needed. The other thing was when I first asked what was vegetarian and the first greeter wasn’t sure, the manager immediately came over and very nicely answered all my questions and didn’t treat me like I was weird for wanting more vegetarian food than other stuff. The last thing I noticed about the service was the abundance of kindness to the elderly who were in attendance. This knitting convention had a lot of great grey birds visiting town, and this one lady came in buy didn’t want to sit until her friend joined her, and the manager quickly got her a chair to sit on outside the restaurant so she didn’t have to stand(they don’t really have a lobby seating area). I just thought that was really nice. I’m sure the food is hit or miss(clearly from the reviews below), no doubt. This is a hotel chain after all, but if you are in the area or at the convention here swing by and inspect your options before ruling it out.

Breakfast-only review: Excellent breakfast buffet. For $ 19, you have this insane assortment of cook to order omelet’s, pancakes, waffles, and an over the top breakfast bar. The smoked salmon is really great and the fruits are fresh. I have been enjoying the free food in the Hyatt’s Regency lounge and had no idea I am missing this insanely great breakfast! This breakfast buffet even has incredible chilaquiles!!! Great service, nice ambiance and great coffee. About the only gripe was the OJ was not as good as some Hyatt’s where it’s freshly squeezed. Free wifi — tough to beat!

This restaurant is located immediately to the right facing Hyatt Regency hotel check-in counters. The restaurant has an open feel with clean décor and the atmosphere is casual. Tried the following appetizers(primi piatti) and main entrée(seondi piatti) — — Fried Calamari House-made spicy tomato sauce, grilled lemon: Nicely done but nothing spectacular. — Local Ar’sanal Burrata House-made fig spread, local olive oil, grilled crosni: Really great! the fig spread and burrata were fresh and delicious! — Crab and Prawn Risotto: Asparagus, spinach, parmesan, arugula purée: this risotto was a bit disappointing. The presentation was good but lacks flavor. Verdict: The Burrata with fig spread is worth going back for. The service was a bit erratic. They were initially attentive but seemed overwhelmed towards the end. Took awhile to get the bill and asked twice for water but did not come.

I was really looking forward to having lunch today at TusCA after having read some great reviews on Unilocal.TusCA is located inside the Hyatt hotel and serves Italian cuisine. I walked there from my work(0.4 miles) and when I arrived, the hostess asked me to wait while they find me a seat. While waiting, I looked around and was impressed with the interior décor. The table set arrangment, the lighting, the decorations all looked exquisite. The wait time was about 10 minutes for a table for 1. After I sat down, my waiter handed me a paper menu and then asked what I would like to drink. I ordered a Pepsi. He walked away to service his other tables. As I was waiting for my soda, I snapped a few detailed pictures for Unilocal — the table arrangement, the couch seating with pillows, and captured closeups of the menu. When the waiter arrived with my drink, I ordered a Margherita Pizza. He collected the menu and walked away. Within 15 minutes, my pizza arrived. The pizza was perfectly cooked. Very think crust with melted cheese along the crust. The cheese was still warm and gooey as I separated the slices. The basil was not over cooked and the tomatoes tasted fresh. While working on my food, no body checked on me. I glanced around and noticed at every other table besides mine, there was a plate of bread and dipping sauce. I flagged down a waiter and asked if those bread was complimentary. He simply replied, «You want some? I can get you some.» I nodded. Within 7 minutes, a different waiter came out with the bread and dipping sauce. The bread was a mini loaf sliced into 4 servings. The dipping sauce was as simple olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Both tasted nice together. I only wish they would have brought this out at the very beginning without my asking for it. When I was done, I flagged down my waiter. He nodded as he walked passed me to attend to a different table. I waited another 6 minutes before he came back to hand me my bill. He asked me if I’ll be charging my meal to my room. I told him no, and handed him my credit card. Rather than take it, he left the bill and my card on the table and walked away to service another table. I had to flag down another lady. Had this place been short staffed, I would understand the lack of service I received. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Looking around, the ratio of waiters/waitresses to tables were normal. I do not understand why I wasn’t provided better service? Overall: AMBIANCE: 4STARS FOOD: 4STARS SERVICE: –1STAR(no bread, nobody checked on me, took forever for everything to arrive despite not being short staff) AVERAGE: 2STARS I won’t be coming back anytime soon for lunch. I rather spend my money elsewhere at a place who will treat me as an equal. All customers should be treated as an equal regardless. At the end of the day, a dollar is a dollar.

I give this place a solid 3.5 stars. I was here with my dad on a Friday night. After looking at the menu to see if we wanted to eat here, we were seated. It was pretty empty for the most part. After we sat down I noticed a little smell coming from somewhere. It wasn’t over the top disturbing, but it did bother me some. The bread that they gave was pretty delicious. Hard, crunchy shell, but the inside was as soft as a pillow. Del Mar Pizza: Grilled shrimp, tomatoes, local bacon with a creamy garlic sauce. This has to be one of my most favorite pizzas. It was well executed and I would have never thought of this combination before. $ 12 Cioppino: Scallop, shrimp, clams, mussels, seasonal fish, angel hair pasta and tomato broth. I prefer a different type of noodle that can soak up more of the tomato sauce. They give plenty of seafood which is a bonus unlike some places that are cheap about it. $ 26
