We came by to check out the Santa Clarita Running Company to see if he could find a new pair of shoes as he’s prepping to do his first ULTRA Marathon. We found this place on Unilocal which listed their store hours at 10:00 am. We arrived at 11:00 am to a store that looked like it was shut down, lights off, and the gate was closed. We waited another 10 minutes, tried calling the listed phone number, and even saw another car waiting for the store to open as well. Maybe someone was running late? But over an hour late?
We gave up and went to eat breakfast in the area. After breakfast, we decided to give this store the benefit of the doubt and came back to see that the store had opened! We were greeted by one of the two persons working. We went to see the shoes and asked some general questions about trail running shoes. Although eager to help, it seemed that the man working there lacked knowledge in regards to trail running shoes.
The store itself seemed pretty… bare? dusty? old? like it needed an update on shoes and a swifter.
Overall, this place left me not wanting to come back. We’ll stick to Runners Lane in Santa Clarita.

I just left the store after buying running shoes. I was assisted by the owner: Tyrus. He was professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. We tried different shoes until I found the pair I connected with. He was patient throughout the entire process. I highly recommend you give them a try. I look forward to purchasing my next pair of shoes here soon!

Finally, a specialty running shop in Newhall! The store stocks the best running shoe brands and always has a range of styles. Their apparel and accessory selection is also great. They carry a wide variety if brands, including some smaller companies you won’t find in the sport-​chalet-​type of stores. The staff members are knowledgable and experienced runners, who work to find the best shoe FOR YOU, rather than pushing what’s trendy. The ownership really cares about the local running community and actively supports many business and races in the area. They even offer discount for members of local teams!
