Bonesio Liquor Store

My grandson and I stopped there on Thanksgiving on our way to dinner. He used his ATM card and then forgot it there. We went back the next day when he realized what he’d done. The card was there and they returned it to one very relieved young man. Thanks, Bonesio’s.

My friend needed change for $ 20 and we thought a visit to a local liquor store would be a possible option. We walked in and waited in line at the register since there was a customer ahead of us. As I stood in line and began to look outside, the clerk at the register yells at me as if I had stolen something from the store. I turn around with a completely puzzled and surprised face and say, «What?» He sees that I don’t have anything in my hands and promptly says, «Oh, nothing.» I can understand if it’s your job to make sure no one is stealing from the store, but falsely accusing someone of theft and pretending like you didn’t make a mistake; especially when they ask you about it is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I would have no issues if the clerk had simply apologized and admitted his error in judgement, but instead he tried to ignore the entire situation while leaving me feeling irritated and harassed. I’d try other liquor stores around the area and forget about Bonesio Liquor Store. What a complete joke this place is.

As this is the only liquor store in downtown Santa Cruz their prices are a little higher than normal but not «crazy» an out of town reviewer claimed. However the customer service I’ve experienced makes up for it. Cino (I think that’s how you spell his name) is almost always working, and if you’re a regular he’ll greet you by name. He even special ordered lemonade four lokos (gross, don’t try ‘em) for my friends and I when they first came out.

Side note: It’s sad to see that one bad review by someone clearly not familiar with the store can have such a negative impact on an awesome local business.

Dude, this place completely sucks! The store stinks, the prices are crazy and the clerk is really rude.
