Got food here before heading to the beach. There was tons of outdoor seating but the service was MEH. We didn’t taste the food until we got to the beach and I was not pleased. The fries were soaked in oil and soft and the pizza tasted like cardboard. would not come here again for the food

Do not come here for karaōke! The KJ is really rude and there is a horrible song selection! Very disappointing! Take your business elsewhere!

Too bad I can’t give this place zero stars! Food was not good at all, tasted stale and lacked in flavor. My card was over charged then when I called Mgt They told me to call my bank so I sat on my phone for an hour trying to get my money back! Thanks for wasting my time… Burgers tasted like cardboard Michelada tasted like a Bloody Mary Service lacked in efficiency I guess I should have got the hint since we were the only customers

Came here to unwind and get a drink after a long enjoyable day on the boardwalk. Wanted to belt out a song or two, hit those high notes like Mariah, but the local bar flies were hogging all the karaōke time :( It’s, like, girl i don’t need to know how sad and lonely your life is through songs, i can tell. 2 words to describe this bar: white trash.

My favorite bar in Santa Cruz. At a bowling alley… go figure. Been coming here for many many years. The bartenders are all wonderful! Always make me feel welcome! And they make… hands down… the best bloody Mary I have ever had!

Always come here for Sunday morning bowling and also a lot of nights to meet up with friends and drink while we bowl. However, this last Sunday we went in for bowling. I went and got our drinks, and the bartender was a young girl who decided I guess that I wasn’t as important as the men at the bar. So she poured me my pitcher and then gave me the glasses without any more pleasantries– the only thing she said to me was what I wanted. Despite that, I came back and ordered one of my favorite drinks, a Black Widow. She said«Oh I know how to make that. A long Island with Chambord» I said, «No, an AMF with Chambord.» She gave me a rude look and said, «yeah a long island». I very clearly told her yes but with Blue Curaçao AND Chambord(hence the BLACK color of the drink) she proceeded to make me this half shot, over sweet drink that was missing a liqueur and as far as I could tell missing half the liquor as well. I didn’t know what to say when she handed me the wrong drink and didn’t say another word to me. She has drastically ruined my experience of the place and maybe someone needs to 1. Tell her how to listen and 2. Girl customers will tip you well too if you give them good service. I’ve never seen her before and if I go again and she is working I will walk back out.

Every year my friend and I attend«Deaf Fest in Santa Cruz» on the boardwalk. He is deaf and handicapped I am hearing. We parked very near to the Coaster bar and grill. After some time on the boardwalk we decided to have lunch. Rather than walk all the way to the wharf we decided to have lunch at Coasters and save ourselves the walk. I was pleasantly happy not to walk that distance but to have a very satisfying tasty lunch at coasters. My friend had the blue cheese burger and a salad, I had the BLAT with fries… one word, yummylicious! After that we went back to the boardwalk to finish up the event. My friend attended a show and I waited for him at the Coaster Bar for a cocktail. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the singing while I ordered a «bloody mary», it was the best bloody mary I ever tasted and even had another. Mostly the reason I’m writing this review is if the Coaster is reading this, I would love to know what kind of bloody mary mix you use and can it be bought in San Jose since this drink is my favorite. This place is gold mine and we will be back every year or every time we come to Santa Cruz with guests. Hope to hear from you about the drink mix.

So bummed on this place. The KJ is very rude, which is strange for being a karaōke jockey. On many different occasions. No wonder this place is a ghost town. Totally not a fun environment at all. It’s feels so juxtaposed to go from being at the boardwalk and having a great lighthearted time to coming into this dingy place and being treated like crap. I would have spent a lot of money there last night but was so vibed out by the rude ass karaōke jockey. Probably will never come back or tell anybody to try this place out. SO Lame!!!

Small cute area inside the Boardwalk Bowl to grab a drink or few and watch sports or listen to the live bands. The food wasn’t bad, I had a mushroom bacon burger with fries. The kids had a large pizza to share for $ 20 which is slightly expensive but hey, we’re in Santa Cruz near the boardwalk– a sand trap for tourists. Didn’t stay too long since we had to watch the kiddos near their bowling lane.

Love, love, LOVE Coaster’s! The best party in Santa Cruz on a Saturday night. The man with the mustache who hosts karaōke really knows how to work the crowd. Good selection of beer at a decent price.

Pretty terrible lunch. My salad was made with sliced deli meat, plastic fork, no knife. Husbands burger was pretty good, onion rings over battered, daughters pizza just ok. Dirty location, with trash everywhere(probably came over from the beach) and napkins on table not secure. Understaffed, but has cheap prices and nice but overworked staff. Won’t be back.

What do you expect from a bowling alley/karaōke/bar/grill? Inexpensive food that gets the job done, tho the bartender on hand was overwhelmed and unequipped to handle the large crowd, honesty couldn’t handle more than 3 at a time, I know there are other GREAT bartenders just not her during World Cup! Otherwise, fair fare for a tourist town!

Do not order the grilled cheese! I thought it was going to be like a gourmet grilled cheese but I was truly disappointed. The Santa Cruz pizza was good though and so we’re the garlic fries. If you want meh kinda food then this is your spot

This is a hidden gem as far as Santa Cruz nightlife is concerned. Karaōke on tap manages to draw one of the most diverse crowds in town. The performances are always entertaining and oftentimes hilarious with a couple drinks in the system. The bar is well stocked, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the adjoining bowling alley is always a great option with a group of friends. The bartenders are legit and kind, and the food they offer is reasonably priced. Head in here on a Friday or Saturday night, pound a couple drinks, then let the inner performer tear up the karaōke stage. Until you’ve sung an Avril Lavigne song with full commitment you haven’t Truely lived. Get on my level bro.

As we’ve gotten older(not that I’m old, but I’m not 21 anymore) we’ve tried to avoid some of the craziness of downtown and just have fun at a bar. I would say we come here often enough to know the eccentric group that are it’s regulars and I love the people watching! You never know what you’ll see at Karaōke… last Saturday I saw a couple get engaged while singing! Love it! No one judges you so people can dance as silly as they want … the pitchers are flowing and the times are good. We have had a few issues with security in the past but that was years ago. now they are much more low key as long as you’re not starting fights they seem alright!!!

Straight to the point? Dingy and dirty… however, tasty Bloody Mary’s and super sweet bartender. Must pre-drink here again!

I’ve only been here twice, which is the two times I’ve gone to Santa Cruz. Hah! After beaching, this is a place my friends and I go to to grab some fries and drinks, mainly drinks. Out of the two times I’ve been here, all I know is that their drinks are pretty inexpensive :-) Therefore, this is the place to be if you wanna grab some or a lot of alcoholic beverages.

Just another bowling alley bar… mmmmaybe, but they’ve got awesome bartenders, big TV’s all over, silly Karaōke and on some nights there’s even LIVEMUSIC. There’s decent food here as well. I’ve never had a problem with the security, they seem to just make sure no one is getting out of control and that’s fine by me. Sure it’s going to be a little more expensive but that’s for the convenience of being able to stumble around on the beach after a few drinks :) Cheers.

Crappy Bowling Alley Bar. And I love it! Greasy food, that ‘bar smell’ of stale beer in the carpets, cheap beer on tap, sometimes-entertaining and always-embarrassing karaōke. Pretty much exactly what I’d expect! When we hit the beach, we ALWAYS find time for a few beers here. :)

My favorite beach flats bar! The bar tenders rule, it’s reasonably priced and never crowded. The karaōke is fun, and they put on some pretty good concerts. My only complaint is all the security guards hanging around.
