Froyo?

This shop is now closed. I would come here for taiyaki, but they were often out. The good news this is the new location for Quickly USA in Santa Cruz.

There are only 4 different favors of frozen yogurt to choose from and they don’t let you take how much you want because it’s behind the counter. They have a good amount of toppings but honestly the froyo just didn’t taste good. If it’s pay by the weight we should have a say of how much frozen yogurt to topping ratio. I’ll pass next time I’m in the area; there’s other dessert places around on that street instead that look better.

When a yogurt business charges strictly by the weight of the serving and then fills the container behind the counter by hand according to how much they want to serve, there is something very wrong. This is regardless of the amount you actually want. This what is called a «vendor — customer disconnect». In other words, this business has a terrible business model regardless of it having a good product or bad. I found the froyo to be just average but really shocked at how sketchy the charges are levied. «Scam» seems harsh but this business has been here long enough to know what they are up to regardless of their language barrier. I will never step foot into this business again.

The place only had 4 very generic flavors and the place was thilthy. If only the employees spent more time cleaning and less on their laptops.

It’s an ok place, as other reviewers said it’s half self serve. Flavors are limited. bad location.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I ordered a slush boba drink from the girl at the counter and when she presented the drink to us it was colored water with boba on the bottom. I expressed to her that I didn’t like it and that it wasn’t consistent. After going back and forth with the girl I told her that I would just like my money back and she replied with a chuckle «No.» She then told me that this is a yogurt place… Why would you promote and sell other products if you’re not confident in them and can’t make them correctly. She then remade the drinks and I thanked her while she gave me the rudest look. Not that I would ever come back here but to others seeking a drink here please do yourself a favor and stay away.

Pretty small selection of froyo. They had a decent amount of toppings and they all looked fresh. The customer service was good. The froyo was good too but pretty average overall. No complaints

I was craving frozen yogurt after class so I decided to stop by this place (since it’s only a block away from home), and I was pretty satisfied. I got the pomegranate & blueberry. It wasn’t to die for, but good nevertheless. Fruit was very fresh so I was impressed.
The only downside I can think of is not being greeted when I went in. The lady was too fixated on her laptop and didn’t realize I was there until I greeted her. But, she was kind. I will most likely be coming back to try their tart yogurt and smoothies.

What you would expect, 4 flavors that they fill for you and then self serve toppings, everything was fresh and good! I prefer to get the frozen yogurt myself so I can mix them and get the exact amount I want, but I would come back!

It’s a safe bet that frozen yogurt is pretty much what you’d expect.
Basics aside, the fruit did not look as though it was holding up to a standard idea of fresh so I stayed clear. The stretch of Pac ave here is not known for it’s qualitative approach to food service, so why do I even bother to complain?

Very limited selection of froyo flavors and it isn’t self-​serve. But I am not reviewing the froyo aspect of this froyo place :)
I ordered the taiyaki ($ 1.50) and was very pleased! The bread was sweet, soft, and crunchy at the same time. The red bean paste filling wasn’t dry and was also very sweet but not overwhelming!

Who doesn’t love Froyo? A few friends and I headed to Santa Cruz to catch a show at the Catalyst and after an early lunch, we found Froyo? directly across the venue. The frozen yogurt shop is your typical, clean and modern dessert shop, with lots of white and very Apple like.
Froyo? is very basic with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry in three different sizes. Toppings, toppings, toppings! I went all vanilla and added strawberries and kiwi, while my friend went with cereal and fun size candy bars. The fro yo was good, not great, and a little pricey. My small frozen treat with two toppings was $ 5 and some change. A little pricey, but you are on Pacific Ave. and it’s about the same price of a Starbucks drink.
Pros:
+ Frozen yogurt on Pacific Ave.
+ Toppings, toppings, toppings
+ Nice interior, with plenty of sitting room, including a couch
Cons:
— Pricey
— Priced by weight

It’s near the metro bus station so that’s convenient.
They have a cute set up inside (couches & tables & chairs/​high chairs) and it’s a cool place to kickit… but it’s usually empty.
They have runny froyo. I’ve definitely had better froyo. They don’t have that many flavors either… they have a handful of toppings though.
Service is fair/​typical.
But I wouldn’t go back.

I like froyo that’s on the icy side, so the texture was good here, but if you prefer yours more thick/​creamy, you may not like it so much. We tried tart and pineapple (they only have four flavors).
Unlike most other froyo places, it’s not self serve for the froyo part. To me, one of the best parts of the frozen yogurt places is that you can mix and match as little or as much as you want. They ask what size you want and fill it for you. Unknowingly, we ordered nearly $ 6 if yogurt by saying we wanted a medium, so even though it’s only 35 cents an ounce, it’s up to the person behind the counter to determine just how much you get. They have lots of toppings (self serve), but I can only imagine how much more that would have added to the cost.
There’s plenty of seating (though the couch looked kind of grungy), and they do take visa and MasterCard. However, for a froyo place, I like the freedom of self serve and also like having more flavors.

I was craving some serious boba (or anything close to it) and realized the place I was going to try was closed so I settled for a smoothie at Froyo?
Nothing too special it was just a large strawberry smoothie for $ 4. It was very sugarly satisfying and tasted fine. Maybe I’ll give the actual froyo a shot next time.

I have always had friends who worked here so it was fun going here to study sometimes and get hooked up with some yogurt :) I met the owner as well and she’s very nice!
I love to just get the tart yogurt and put a buncha fruit on top, with some peanuts and granola. Very light, healthy, and a great dessert after a heavy meal.

Perfectly situated in the middle of downtown Santa Cruz sits this cute little temptress. Nothing to incite a yogurt craving more than an afternoon of heavy shopping-​bag carrying, right?
We strolled on in, only to find out that it isn’t self-​serve. Grrr!!! Get with it, NorCal! Self-​serve is the only, er, service! Something. Uh, therefore, I got too much yogurt and was forced to pay for it all. And it’s not like you can tell him «stop» if you can’t see how much is in the freaking cup! I told him how much I wanted (½ cup — I gotta fit in those clothes I just bought, you know) and he gave me twice that. Dummie. At least we get to put on our own toppings, I *guess*…
The seating area is coolio. They have a mod couch along with the usual white, futuristic, spinny froyo chairs. Strange: they have a ramen vending machine. And a coffee machine. You know, in case you want a hot beverage to complement your cold dessert (?).
Still miffed about the serving size…

I like the set up here. Order your frozens, then pack on whatever toppings you like. Then weigh and pay! Easy, inexpensive and delicious! Makes it easy because it’s right downtown and super clean inside. Blueberry/​tart was a delightful combo!

Best frozen yogurt in Santa Cruz hands down! I’ve tried the other near by yogurt shop Swirl, but the quality is no comparison. Some how the yogurt from Swirl almost tastes like it was a little watered down. Their tart tastes sour in a bad way and reminds me of spoiled milk. Swirl also charges a lot more at 45 cents per ounce while Froyo is only 35 cents per ounce. This might not seem like much at first, but once you get your yogurt + toppings, the weight definitely adds up and you end up paying several dollars more at Swirl.
The servers at Froyo are always super helpful and they will let you request the amount that you want regardless of their sizes. For example, instead of choosing from the sizes small, medium, or large you can ask them to give you less than a small or between the small and the medium, or etc. They even have a secret child-​size cup that a person of any age can request if their regular small is too large.
All the flavors in Froyo are also really good but the tart and the vanilla are my favorite. The tart tastes sort of like greek yogurt and it is SO good! If you need help deciding, they are really friendly about giving you free samples. Best of all, they have a huge selection of toppings that you can choose yourself :)
*** I recently noticed that they expanded their menu! They now have smoothies, fish shaped bread filled with sweet red bean, and other things. One of the workers also told me that they were planning on getting a ramen machine soon too! When it comes, I’ll be looking forward to trying it out!

I like how it’s so convenient to stop by because it’s so close to the metro! However…
I don’t like how they serve you the frozen yogurt. You tell them what size (s, m, l) and they fill it up for you. Thanks, but I’d rather do it myself. That way, I wouldn’t fill it to the top with it being hollow in the center – completely ridic since there’s no room for toppings! Then you have to ask for a separate bowl for toppings, which makes it weight more and completely defeats the purpose of being a topping. I don’t understand the logic they have going here.
