Mark Brenis, DPM

Dr Brenis was very arrogant and had a very bad bedside manner. My left big toe had a new nail growing under one that been injured and when the old one came off I discovered the new one was very thick and only at the nail bed with black discoloration. He said the landscape of my toe had changed and he could not guarantee the new nail would ever grow out normally/​He offered to prescribe a medication that could adversely affect my liver which was a big concern for me because I was already on medication for low kidney function. He failed to do a scraping of the black discoloration on the new nail which my internist said he should have. I have ingrown toenails and when he tried to trim the right big toenail to relieve the pressure, he cut it and it bled profusely. His nurse only offered me a bandaid and sent me on my way.
My internist prescribed some topical medication so I would have no problems with my liver from the medication Dr Brenis was going to prescribe which required lab tests on my liver beforehand… Since that time my toenail has grown out normally, contrary to what Dr Brenis said.
I would not go back there again, even to see another doctor in The Foot Doctor office where he practices.

I had several problems seeing Dr Brenis. The first was that every time I saw him, the follow up billing was incorrect. (I would self pay at the desk, only to be billed again several weeks later.)
My 2^nd problem was more significant. I saw Dr Brenis in February regarding a neuroma in my foot, and he suggested I come back in a few months when my Medicare was in effect to pay for it. When I came back, he said Medicare wouldn’t cover it. After consulting with other podiatrists and finding that in fact Medicare does cover my issue, I wrote him a letter asking if he could explain. He never responded, so I took my business elsewhere.

Dr Brenis is a fabulous Doctor! He performed foot surgery for my daughter (both feet) and did an amazing job. His entire staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend this office for any Podiatry needs you may have!
