Dr. Patel has and continues to do a great job with my complicated case. She is kind, her staff has been wonderful. I had no trouble getting a fast appt. She did a nerve conduction test on me and was able to pinpoint some of the issues I was having. I have seen many neurologists. She is a very good doctor.

I had never before been to Dr. Patel’s office. When I went to the front desk, the young man didn’t greet me; I had to approach him and tell him who I was. Dr. Patel was at the front desk. She glanced at me and said nothing. No one asked me for any personal information prior to the EEG to see if I had any conditions that should be taken into consideration. The technician – a large man – took me into a dark room with no windows and asked me a few questions. The way he responded made me feel like he hadn’t even heard what I said. Then he proceeded with the EEG without telling me anything about it. I had no idea I’d have lie still for an hour with my eyes closed, nor that I’d have to hyperventilate as part of the process. He said nothing to me but the minimum during the process, and I was very nervous not understanding what was happening and what was coming next. After about an hour I heard him making some noises and I said, «Can I open my eyes now?» He said yes, as though I was irritating him by even asking. I had to find my way out to the front of the office, and no one paid me any attention. I finally asked the guy at the front desk, «Can I go now?» He said«yes.» The whole thing was very strange, and a horrible example of how to run a business, much less a medical office that should be a humane place that puts patients at ease.

I was referred to Dr Patel by a family practioner for a headache that wouldn’t go away. Long story short, at the end of the exam, she told me to get back to my normal activities as that would make me feel better. I told her that all i wanted to do was go back to bed. She then told me that i was depressed and should consider antidepressants. Her diagnosis was migraines and depression. She agreed to order an MRI, but put no rush on it. Two days later I was admitted to the hospital with a brain tumor the size of an apricot. By the time the MRI that she ordered was scheduled, I’d already had surgery and was home recovering for more than a week. I’ve left messages with her so that I could tell her what happened, but have had no response. For many reasons, I would choose a different neurologist.
