Friendly staff, organized, proffessional, clean. Had to wait a little longer than anticipated for my scheduled appt, but the op totally took his time with me and even explained some of the science behind things(as a science student, that’s a ++++), so that definitely made up for the wait. Dug his enthusiasm, the attentiveness of the staff, and pictures, the glasses! Will return.

An error was made on my prescription, and though the normal timeframe for replacement had gone by Cathy was willing to make it right. I appreciate her willingness to help and correct the mistake that was made, and am very happy with my glasses now. Great selection of frames, I’ve purchased 3 or 4 pairs from this shop and been happy with each. Minus one star because I felt that the optometrist I saw who made the mistake had been distracted during my appointment. While I appreciate Dr. Daly’s passion for children and their eye health, he came on a little strong.

Staff very cold, they are unfriendly and only somewhat helpful as long as you don’t ask too many questions or ask for anything. Staff not very good at communicating with the optometrist.

I was lucky enough to have Victoria go out of her way to assist me in adjusting the fit of a pair of sunglasses. Not only was she prompt, and courteous, but she had a delightful personality. I was grateful for her help and patience. Should I need any optical needs in the future, this will be the first place on my list.

I go to Spex begrudgingly because I occasionally find glasses there that I can’t find elsewhere in this small town. Every time I walk into this shop, with money to spend and glasses to wear, I am completely ignored. The shop is about 150 square feet, so it’s not as thought I am difficult to see when I walk in. The sales staff are rude and dismissive. When you ask questions about the glasses the staff talks to you, but about what they want, and not answering your questions. When the sales woman finally managed to show me the glasses that I had been asking about for 10 minutes and the other colors they came in, she did so at her own computer, the screen of which I couldn’t see, and wouldn’t allow me behind the desk to see it either. She then informed me of all the other colors it came in, except for the one I wanted to know about. Finally, she said she could order the ones I wanted but wouldn’t charge me a $ 15 special order fee since if I didn’t like them someone else would — even thought she STILL had not let me see the glasses. I go here as a last resort. I’ve never gone to the doctors there so I can’t say a thing about them, but I’m treated extremely poorly by the sales staff and always leave feeling frustrated.

Victoria is a rock star! Might be the best customer service I have ever received. I was getting ready to leave on holiday, and Victoria was able to have my new glasses available on super short notice. Not sure if she used a magic wand-but I love my new spex ! Thank-you again Victoria, the art of great service and care is alive and well in downtown SC.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Spex for many years now. Wait, am I the first the Unilocal them? How is that even possible? Anyway, yes, I’m a fan. I buy high index, fun & fashionable glasses from them every few years. They have a great selection of the latest styles from all the big designers, not the stuff that Costco typically has. My most recent purchase was a pair of Paul Frank prescription sunglasses which my insurance mostly paid for. They came in quickly and the salesperson adjusted them perfectly to fit my uneven ears. I’ve always found the staff to be extremely helpful. To top it off, Spex is conveniently located across from the parking garage.
