Coming from a strong Hispanic background coming in I feel right at home. The couple that served me attended me right away. They were really kind. I ordered the super burrito quesadilla. I was not disappointed. Both were delicious.

I’m veery picky with my mexican food and being from the bay area I have my fare share of options, I only have a few spots I actually return to after trying them and this with for sure be one of them. Food was served fast and it was delicious, we got pup’s pupusas, chicken burrito and all pastor burrito mojado.

Stood at the counter about ten minutes before even being acknowledged. Should of saved my money and ate dirt instead of wasting 40 minutes for my time. Very very very very very slow service.

Do not enter! HAIRONMYFOOD. My boyfriend and I were hungry yesterday for a Mexican torta and chose this place to eat. The place is small and dirty(both tables and bathroom are in need of attention). Anyways we decided to eat our food there and as I was half ways done, I pulled out a long black hair. Do not go! This ruined some of my experience as a tourist. I may find it hard to go back ever again!

This is the worst taqueria to ever go to the employees were so unprofessional and the cook is really dirty doesn’t even wash her hands. They were very disrespectful to us. I’m never going there again aside from the bad service food wasn’t good and the place has bad hygiene

Just stopped by when visiting the Boardwalk. It was awesome! Loved the tacos de carne asada! Thanks! Great pupusas

I really don’t like writing reviews… However, I was motivated due to very very poor customer service. For starters, I was charged for a taco plate of $ 9.99 — X3 — yet my children received the $ 7.99 value. The presentation and flavor both aweful. My girl, got a chicken broth plate, one thigh only — she states no flavor, portion small the part of the Meat was old, taste no good. Surprisingly my chicken torta was ok.

The food is only okay, and the owner/employees(a family?) are extremely surly and unfriendly. Have to keep asking the elderly man to refill my tiny water cup. He then angrily asks me to stand and come get it myself, every time. Definitely a bad atmosphere. The tacos are light on extras, the meat usually a little burned, the burritos very bland. There is a lot better Mexican food close by. It seems simple… if you’re not Mexican, the service will be terrible.

We walked in with a party of 12 and although there was 2 ppl working they were quick on getting out our food, I was even surprised. Plus everything came out as ordered. The place is small, but good food, prices and portion sizes. If you are looking for quality Mexican food I recommend them. First time here, but when in the area and craving some tacos I’ll make sure to come here again.

Good hearty portion of food but it did not blow me away. It was my first time getting a pastor burrito and I can say it was pretty tasty. All of the ingredients were prepared well. The setting is definitely a hole in the wall but the employees were friendly. Can’t give it a 5 but a three would be to low.

The vegetarian burrito was one of the more boring ones I’ve ever tasted. I’d go with an Al Pastor burrito at this place.

Small hole in the wall with huge flavor. Torta Cubana with milanesa, chorizo, eggs, ham, hot dog, avocado, and more that I can’t remember. It has everything but the kitchen sink and yet was so balanced. DELICIOUS!

This place is a hole in the wall, but that’s not the problem. We got three burritos. All of them had partially burned outer tortillas, and had way too much tortilla folded onto itself. Maybe this is traditional in some culinary subculture, but it wasn’t fun to eat. Way too thick. Worse, one of the chicken burritos had part of a chicken bone in it! We’re not coming back.

Why was my torta $ 10.41(with tax)? That’s… way too high when compared to other places. It was a Cuban style, and the guy said it would have 2kg(4.4lbs.) of meat on it when I asked why it was so expensive. The sandwich was good, but it definitely didn’t have 2kg of meat on it, and it was not worth the price. I won’t go back.

The torta cubana was great, especially with the red salsa in the bottle. So few places nail lengua meat but the lengua tacos here were terrific as well. Girlfriend had chicken and carnitas tacos, but I’d say pass on those… they’re unremarkable. Try this place!!!

Service and cleanliness is the result for the 3 stars otherwise this would have been a 4; my taco salad was fresh, crisp, and delicious. The tortilla shell was crispy, not greasy, and I can tell it was made that morning. The kids’ quesadilla was cheesy and huge albeit extremely greasy. A very tiny spot near the park where I usually take the kids. I was babysitting that day and wanted something nearby and inexpensive. This was also in my bookmarks since I moved to Santa Cruz. The menu is extensive and looks very promising. I will eventually come back but I hope the service improves this time around. The gentleman at the counter was unfriendly, unwelcoming, and impatient. I almost walked out but lugging the kids back in the car was work in itself. They serve breakfast and is open at 7AM. For«breakfast» 7AM seems very late to me. What do I know? I wake up at 3AM to workout and I eat breakfast before 5:30AM. This place is not for the health conscious but for a cheat meal, it would be a great cheat. Just make sure it’s the most intensive training day otherwise, your effort at the gym would be useless. Eat smart. Dine smart(this place is cheap).

I stop here EVERYTIME I’m in Santa Cruz! Their breakfast burritos, with avocado and salsa(and sour cream if you are feeling extra indulgent!) are by far my favorite breakfast burritos that I’ve tried anywhere in my travels. Their other food is good too, I’ve tried their nachos and enjoyed them, but feel as if I have missed out on an experience when I don’t get a burrito. The owners, Anna and her husband, make this place feel like home whenever I come into town. It can be a little bit of a wait so order ahead if you are in a rush. Highly recommend going here for food that is good quality, filling, and well priced!
