Love The Area! Capitola is a nice little town full of little shops and eateries. The nearby beaches offer beautiful views of the coast. While most of the beach areas are great to walk and even go for a swim, there is also a nice little spot to surf… The Hook. Short board friendly and a nice area that is pretty much all locals. I talked to a few guys in the parking lot and on the water and everyone was nice enough. There is a shower in the lot. The walk down is easy enough with stairs. The area is rocky and there was a grip load of sea plants in the water(seaweed and stuff). Watch out for high tide because the waves hit the cliff wall making the exit a bit rough. If you paddle North a few blocks it’s easier. Everyone knows each other here. If you’re not from the area, remember to be respectful. This is definitely not like OC areas where there are a hundred different guys everyday. I met some great people here and overall had a fun time. I am a fan.
