1^st time there… early morning emergency .yan opened up xtra early for me making it quick and convenient. Very knowledgeable and fair pricing recommended to anyone looking for integrity aNd honesty.

This place is awesome. They’re super affordable and reasonable. Came to add mufflers on my car and the guy was asking me the whole time how I wanted everything set up. These 2 guys are pros at what they do.

One of my buddies recommended this place for a muffler delete. I kept thinking twice to do it because I don’t want my car to be obnoxiously loud. After much thought, I finally brought my 2009 328i to this shop. Yan was very straight forward in explaining the process and came up with a pretty cool solution to install the tips that I brought that appeared to be too wide. I’m very happy and satisfied with the results. The loudness is just right and its got a deep tone to it. Yan and his staff are definitely good at what they do. This is the go-​to-​place for muffler delete or any other exhaust mods in LA/​OC. They do a clean job, service is quick (I was done in an hour), and they won’t charge you an arm and a leg.
Will definitely recommend this place to all my buddies.

I recently bought a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 on new years eve day and wanted to get a muffler delete done asap ! Good thing my dad recommend me to A-​1 Muffler Express ! I almost spent too much on a muffler delete pipe from American
! I saved $ 250 going to A-​1 Muffler ! Custom pipes /​Borla Muffler tips /​installation welding ! Ive always been sketched out about muffler shops until My dad recommended to go get a custom exhaust pipe /​muffler installation done by Mr. Yan at A-​1 Muffler. Mr Yan is the owner of A-​1 Muffler. My Dad has been doing buisness with Mr. Yan with all my dad’s off road trucks /​cars sense I was born ! Thats sense 1995 ! Mr. Yan has been doing 5 star service sense then and even today when I brought My 2011 Mustang GT to get a custom muffler delete done ! At first I couldn’t believe the price he offered over the phone so I had to check it out myself ! So me and my dad called and set an apointment with Mr. Yan. When me and my dad got there, Mr. Yan had just finished doing a custom exhuast for a 2001 Honda Prelude and it was done perfect ! The welding/​cutting/​installation was PERFECT ! After he finished the installation he ran a code check through the ECU and made sure everything was good to go ! Me and my dad were very impressed because not allot of muffler shops do that my dad told me. As soon as the prelude rolled out, Mr. Yan took my car onto the lift very smoothly. He treated the car like it was his, with respect ! Mr. Yan did the same for the prelude ! Mr. Yan cautiously inspected my muffler /​pipes to make sure where he can cut /​weld /​size exhaust pipe I should get for my muffler delete. As soon as Mr. Yan found where he can cut /​weld Mr. Yan immediately started to work on doing my custom muffler delete. Mr. Yan paused for a sec before he almost finished and offered me to chose what size Borla tip size I wanted on My Mustang. He asked me how far out or in I wanted my exhaust tip to be out and I helped him chose. Mr. Yan was very patient with me even after I made a mistake and wanted my muffler tips to be readjusted. After he finished he asked me 1 more time to see if I was okay with it, I looked at it very closely and it was perfect ! Mr. Yan lowered the lift very carfully and told me to start My Mustang up. I started up the Stang and holly fuck it sounded good ! I went to the back of my car again to make sure it was on perfectly and not tilting in the wrong way or was uneven. Everthing was good and everything on the exhaust was positioned PERFECT ! This installation took about 45min which is expected, because Mr. Yan had to make sure/​inspect /​measure the exhaust pipe size and length he was going to install was going to fit the factory pipes on my Mustang. Mr. Yan’s exhaust services is 5 STAR everyone ! Treat Mr. Yan the man with respect and you shall get respect and good service ! So everyone who’s bitching and complaining about A-​1 Muffler Express, your doing some shit wrong ! Always set up an apointment before you go ! Because if you don’t, he will take care of the cars first that did set up an apointment ! So stop your BITCHING BITCHES! Be patient ! So I’m sitting here waiting on getting my mufflers deleted. Fair price and as I was the only person here it was or seemed to go by fairly quickly, but then there was a rush of people and they stopped working on my car and started working on other people’s. I’ve been here for about an hour as that was how long he said it would take… still sitting and watching and getting a little more annoyed, I’m guessing I should have just put out more money at a different shop… you get what you pay for I guess

Cannot be trusted to work on any cars. I called up to have him do a cat back for my car. And he kept telling me «I don’t know you, you might be a cop». I would not recommend anyone going to this shop as they might steal parts off your car. What kind of business accuses people of being cops on the phone? Obviously a shady place that has something to hide. Probably sells stolen parts.
If there were a less than 1 star review to select, that would be my choice.
They probably paid their family and friends to give them a good review.

I’ve come by twice.
First, I brought car in for a brake check. Lee took a look at my front and rear brakes. He told me the front brakes were still very good and recommended changing the rear brakes. I also was getting a lot of squealing when I turned in the A/​C so he also changed 2 belts. Took a couple hours to get everything done.
A few weeks later my car wouldn’t start. I managed to get it over here and Lee checked my battery and alternator for free and found that only the battery needed to be replaced. I went to Costco because it was covered under warranty.

I will give 10 star for Yan! Because he help me a lot. Actually, I need to go to DMV to renew my DL while he’s fixing the rear brakes of my car. He help me by dropping me to DMV so that I don’t have to wait there and I could finished two things at the same time… He gave me all the important information that I need. And he will give you quality work in a reasonably price. Go to this place if you need a reliable, trustworthy and quality works for your car. You’ll never get wrong. Ask for Yan too!

A-​1 Muffler & Brake Express and particularly the owner Yan, is one of the most honest, reliable muffler mechanics I’ve ever come to have the pleasure of knowing and repairing my car. What I particularly like about his professional service and operation is his respectful attitude, excellent communication, and save you money mentality.
To summarize the repairs I needed, I had a brake job and catalytic converters and o2 sensors replaced here.
Here are some things in particular that made my experience an excellent, 5 star one.
1. Although I spent over $ 1000 in repairs, every cent was worth it. Yan explained everything to detail as to why he needed to do what was required
2. Yan held out on repairing other items to test if he could go a more inexpensive way to resolve certain issues
3. Yan offered to clean out my throttle body and did it for FREE
4. Yan’s prices are reasonable, actually, they are cheap compared to the competition
5. Yan tries to complete his work the same day
6. Yan went out of his way before his vacation to fix my car and had one of his guys drive all the way to Corona to pick up a part for my car
I have to say, Yan is the most honest mechanic, and reliable shop that I have ever been to. He’s a very stand up person and I’m very glad to have met him and to have found his shop.

OMW 2 work this morning, noticed my exhaust was making a bit more noise than it should. Turned out I had lost the upper bolt to the main bracket suspending the exhaust. We negotiated a little on price, he did the work there as I waited, was very pleased, pleased enough to take the time to write this, and that’s saying something.

Recently took my Civic Si to get my catalytic converter fixed to pass smog. I can say these guys are very knowledgeable and know what they’re doing. Very professional and friendly.
Not just the muffler job but he spend a lot of time checking to see if my codes were gone with the OBDII reader. Also showed me what to look for on the machine. That is just one thing he did but there are many other things he did to make sure my car was up and running to be ready for the smog check. Something other shops would never do, or charge extra for other things. But these guys are all about customer service. I really want to thank you guys.

I found A-​1 Muffler on craigslist posting. I wanted to purchase a cat back exhaust system and had called several places prior to finding Yan. Here is what separates Yan apart from the rest.
1) other shops would just rush me off the phone because they probably answered the call in the middle of something.
2) other shops would say let me get back to you with what i can do and how much (of course they never did)
3) he was cheaper by $ 45 to $ 85 for the same magnaflow i got installed.
4) He told me upfront what he recommends for my engine and performance. Rather than trying to push something else.
It was a bit a drive for me but i am so glad i did. I got to watch Yan do the work on the car. He took his time to do the work right. He fitted the piping and continued to bend the curves until he felt it was done correctly. He could have just left it the first time, but rather he went back and made the fitting perfect. The welding was done perfectly as well. He let me under the car so i can observe the final work before i paid for anything.
He also offered me different tips that he has in stock. I have been driving my car for a week now with the magnaflow exhaust and i have gotten lots of compliments on the sound alone. It is a deep aggressive growl, the response on the vehicle is a lot better, the mpg has gone up.
Yan did a 5 star all around. The quality of his work, the price he charged, the customer service he provided, the knowledge and recommendations for my vehicle and budget.
I treat my car like a family member, and finding someone to do the work on my vehicle is a picky selection. I am overall 100% satisfied with Yan and his work. Everyone should call him and talk to him for estimates and recommendation for your budget and vehicle.

My car can’t past the smog check because of the problem of catalytic converter. It took me a lot of time and money to deal with it before.
I went to YAN’s shop today and he was so genuine and nice to help me past the smog check instead of change the catalytic, I appreciate it so much!

Had my front brakes/​new rotors put on here, not only was Yan polite but service was very professional! Pricing was honest and fair, highly recommend this place!

Got a flowmaster installed on my truck. They gave me a decent price and also put on the magnaflow so I could decided which one I liked better. Its a small shop but they do good work. I’m really happy with my flowmaster. Go check them out!

I’ve came back here for both my cars for Magna flows and straight piping. Great prices and speedy service! They work around your price range to get what you want. I recommended to all my friends and family. I’m from Irvine so it is quite a drive but its worth it!

This place is beyond professional. I didn’t have to make an appt… I drove up with only a friend’s recommendation. I came in for a catalytic converter service… they replaced the stock cat and I was in and out within 30mins. Couldn’t ask for anything more… I highly recommend this muffler shop to anyone looking to replace their cat. Their prices??? Lets just say I was more than happy with their pricing ;)

I have been going to this shop for years! They are great guys and are experts at what they do. Anytime i need something exhaust or brake related I always bring my car to them. They know me because I always drive sports cars.
I went there yesterday and had my exhaust replaced. They installed the exhaust fast and put a nice shiny tip on the end of it. Looks great now!
If you need something done right and you don’t like to wait, this is the place to go!

I will keep it short… These guys know there business well, they spend the time to show you what you are actually buying. They made shure to show me that the part being used was the specific part for my car, in addition they ONLY use quality converters. I was in and out in 20 minutes, if you call them they will educate you well on your specific part for your vehicle.
I highly recommend these guys, their pricing is also very, very good! As for the shop dont expect much, its cluttered with mufflers and converters and well its a shop but the work and service is top notch.

I was here the other day and can definitely say this was the best treatment I’ve ever received at a car shop. As a 20something year old female, I tend to get ripped off at most of the other places I’ve been to (I’ve done my research, and most times I get charged over $ 100 more than the average price ranges). He gave me the best deal out of all the places I went around to and showed me the break down of what was gonna happen. The service is great, he’s super fast, and was able to finish up speed through the job before the end of the day! Definitely making the trip out here again, the service and atmosphere is worth it!
