This is going to my typical reviews because I could give get my good order. So I checked Unilocal for their hours and it says their open till 11 pm. So I called just to confirm their hours. So I called around 9pm and the man that answered confirmed with me that they closed at 11. So I headed over there and when I got there all their lights were off and chair up. Only one guy was there just doing the cash out. I am really disappointed with this, they would really fix their hours on the Unilocal page. And when someone calls just say that their closed already. Instead of having them drive there

I don’t usually go to Flame Broiler, but instead I go to hole in the wall places for rice and meat type of bowls! I gave flame broiler another chance at this location and am I dissappointed. I ordered a regular bowl with half and half chicken/beef with brown rice. The portion of the rice was literally only have ¼ of the bowl while the rest was meat… The meat is delicious but barely any rice what so ever… Also a tiny sprinkle of green onion… Sorry guys but not gonna come back to this location. The 2 stars is for the yummy meat. I received little rice, paid about 10 dollars with a drink when I could’ve gotten more for 10 dollars at a different restaurant.

Oh where to begin with my experience today. Flame Broiler is one of the few restaurants I can eat at due to having to limit my sodium so a brown rice and white meat chicken bowl with green onions and no sauce is a real treat for me. Imagine my disappointment when David came home with one of those today and the white meat chicken is so disgusting because most of the pieces are burnt beyond the point of being edible. What is wrong with the workers there? How could they not see how burnt it was? And how could they serve it to people knowing how burnt and disgusting It was??? What a complete waste of money. I am so upset right now. I will never come back to this Flame Broiler. ********** It’s now 24 hours after I ate what I could and I am writing an update. Ever since I ate there I have been incredibly ill. I will never, ever go to this disgusting place again!

Came here on a Saturday at 3 pm. One slow girl taking orders and handing out food while the line is 6 deep and no one is helping. Whoever manages this place should get fired. Horrible

Not the best experience I mean flame broiler is the same pretty much everywhere the service is what makes or breaks the restaurant. We barely had any meat served in our bowls cashier was hating her life that day probably. she was grumpy as hell. Not going back sticking to waba grill

I only buy from Flame Broiler if I have a coupon. I had a BOGO coupon, so I ate here. My review is based on the chola working the register. I’m sorry you hate life and your job, but don’t work in the food industry if you hate customer service.

Food was okay I’ve had better flame boiler before. This review isn’t so much about the food, but about the sanitation of this location. We arrived at 8 and the cashier informed us to not sit in the front tables because she was prepping for closing and cleaning them. I said okay no problem. I’ve worked at a food place before and I understand how bad closing is so you want to prep ahead of time. Well we sat in the seats closer to the bathroom(the back area). There was a pretty sketchy girl going in and out of the bathroom, and several other weird people just going in and out of the back door. I tried to pay no attention to all this but it was hard because we sat right by the back door. As I sat there and ate my food I started to smell a funny smell. Well turns out I sat on human poop!!! Yes this is correct. POOP!!! Once I got in my car I still kept on smelling the awful smell. Had to come how and take a shower with 409 disinfectant and clean my car seat with Clorox! I will make sure corporate is well aware of this sanitation issue. This is completely unacceptable. Customer service isn’t just about serving the people but making sure the lobby of your store is clean as well! Specially if you sale food!!!

Horrible. Just horrible. We ordered food and used a coupon. The cashier forgot to apply it to our purchase. A different cashier gave us someone else’s receipt which caused an issue picking up our order. The cashier also got our order wrong. I ordered a beef plate and chicken bowl, he put the order as two bowls. I told them and they fixed it but it took 17 minutes to get the food so I was unable to eat it on my lunch and got it to go. I really don’t even want to eat it anymore. Please hire more competent employees; they are doing your business a great disservice. I will never eat there again.

4 stars because 1) clean 2) restrooms clean 3) I have always gotten plenty meat in my bowls & plates. 3) cheap 4) the owner himself is actually working the front now at least 3 times I’ve come in he has. He’s friendly professional I call my orders in and never wait when I show up its ready to go. Food is consistently good for chain & best thing they give free stamp cards free drink & bowl after 5 stamps &10th stamp

Walked in today to grab lunch, but left so disgusted by one of the cashiers in the front. The girl with red hair and glasses was not only eating and chewing her food while taking my order but also licking her fingers after grabbing her food. Never did I see her wash her hands before handing the food served to customers. I am sorry but isn’t that what lunch breaks are for? Very unprofessional to have employees eating in the front counter, while customers are waiting. Not to mention the cook who gives you an awkward pervertive stare. Would not recommend this place unless you’re looking to get checked out by that perv cook or want to stand there waiting for her to finishing chewing on her meal until she can finaly ring you up.

Visted this location today Friday April 24, great customer service, friendly cashiers and clean restaurant… the only huge issue was that they were COMPLETELY out of portion cuppies for the sauce!!! C’mon now! I asked the staff and they apologized which i completely understand is not their fault but that does not change the fact that the owner/manager needs to provide the employees with supplies to be made available for customers use! What’s next?! No chicken?! Will not be returning again!

Used to be a regular here, but my last 3 visits have just been terrible. Whether it’s chicken or beef you order it is always super DRY. this location is also unsanitary, I found a chipped off finger nail tip inside the black bins where they keep the plastic containers for the sauces. Will not be back! Try Waba Grill down the street!

I have two problems with this place: First, I don’t know why they charge for sodas/drinks when anyone who with a water cup can fill it up with whatever they like for free. Personally, I find that discriminating. Second, this place is not the cleanest restaurant ever been in. The floors tend to be sticky, the tables don’t seem to get regularly wiped. Translation: take out only.

I hate that I only have the option to give one star rating when this place is one of those that has a different start rating based on what I am reviewing. Here’s my break down: Cleanliness: 5 star Taste of Food: 5 Star Speed of Service: 5 Star Customer Service(Cashiers): 1 Star The food is excellent and if you don’t mind having to come into contact with a cashier who doesn’t smile, will try to rush you through your order, practically almost throws your receipt at you, and then turns around and is all googly eyed and smiley with the cook, then this is the spot to visit. I really hope the owner sees these reviews and makes the decision to relieve the cashiers from their misery and hires those who will be grateful to have a job and will provide excellent customer service and a genuine smile and«how can i help you.» If you want good customer service, then go elsewhere, cause this spot just doesn’t know what good customer service is.

With all the negative comments about bad service at this location, I was hesitant to stop by to try this place out but in the end, proximity ruled after my shopping excursion to Target and Marshalls as it’s in the same shopping complex. No issues with service on the Sunday afternoon(08÷03÷14) when i visited. Guy behind the counter wasn’t overly friendly but competent and took my order quickly. Other Unilocalers have compared it to Yoshinoya and I’d have to agree but it boils down to individual preference. Yoshinoya: — Veggies: steamed. — Meat: grilled chicken, shaved beef with noticeable fat content. — Rice: white only. Flame Broiler: — Veggies: stir fried or lightly steamed(definitely crunchier than Yoshinoya) — Meat: broiled and chopped. skinless chicken and cubes of beef. — Rice: white or brown at no extra charge. Two observations: Guess there’s a limit of 4(tiny) cups of teriyaki magic sauce that you can take with you at this location. Come on, if someone wants to spike their blood pressure by inhaling the sauce as a beverage, who are you to get in the way? I didn’t test the sauce limitation so I’m not sure how strictly it’s enforced. The employees had a disagreement with the thermostat while I was there. Counter employee turned the temperature down to cool the dining area but the kitchen employee came out a short time later to turn it back up. Turns out comfortable in the dining room means freezing in the kitchen area. Comfortable in the kitchen area means a toasty dining area. A toasty dining area means a quick exit out the door for me! To summarize, I’d return to Flame Broiler for a quick bite and would count both Flame Broiler(the chain and not this particular location) and Yoshinoya as places for regular lunch/dinner destinations. Wish they’d find success in Northern CA one day(San Ramon location went out of business) so I won’t have to travel south for my chicken and beef bowl fix!
