Mike Thompson’s RV Super Store

I guess when you’re the #1 RV dealer in Southern California customer service isn’t that important. I purchased a brand new travel trailer from Mike Thompson RV Superstore and the same day I brought it home the slide out stopped working. I called to schedule an appointment to get it repaired, and after waiting a few days I drove 64 miles one way and 2 ½ hours later I arrived at Mike Thompson RV’s service department. The street where their business is located on is extremely narrow and the service driveway was stacked full of motor homes and trailers and I had no space to pull into. With the Golden State Freeway on my right and Mike Thompson RV Superstore on my left I had no where to go. Vehicles were stacking up behind me and I had no where to go. This was an extremely awkward position to be in. I called the service department and they said that they would send out a porter to make room. After about 10 nerve racking minutes I was finally able to pull into their driveway. After talking with service advisor about my concerns for the trailer I left the trailer there and drove to work. About an hour and a half later the service advisor called and told me that they had reconnected a wire that had come off of the slide out electric motor and that the broken plastic piece above refrigerator had been ordered and that for the mean time they glued it back on.
I drove there the next morning to pickup trailer and again their driveway was stacked with motor homes and trailers. I parked my truck in front of the driveway and walked to the service department. I was told that I had to go to the cashier and sign some papers. I was then told that I would have to drive up the street and when I saw 4 pillars on the left hand side that is where my trailer would be for me to pickup. I then walked back to my truck and drove up the street looking for the 4 pillars. I actually spotted a travel trailer that looked like mine parked in a lot, so I pulled into the lot and saw nobody, not a living soul. No one there to make sure that I was taking the correct trailer it is a good thing that there was a piece of tape with my last name on it stuck to the front of the trailer. It took a little longer then normal to hook the truck up to the trailer because there was no one there to help back truck up. Like I said earlier «when you’re the #1 RV dealer in Southern California customer service just isn’t that important.
Mike Thompson RV Superstore my visit to your Santa Fe Springs service department was a nightmare! The nightmare was so unpleasant that I won’t be back. Thats a shame because my buying experience with your Fountain Valley Store was somewhat good.

I went by here once, 2 years ago. I gave the salesman my work email address, but told him (since I work for the federal government), only use it to communicate with me. Don’t use it for marketing purposes.
Two years later, I’m still receiving spam from these idiots. I’ve spoken to the salesman, asking to be removed, and I spoke with the manager who promised he would remove me.
I just got another email yesterday.
You are better off going elsewhere.

I had a fantastic buying experience with Brandon. Very knowledgeable and helpful! No pressure at all. He made the buying experience a pleasure. And when I got home and realized that I was missing the remote control for one of the TVs he quickly found one and shipped it off to me. Really nice guy! I have yet to experience the Service Department, but will follow up with a review on that when and if I have to take it in for service. Thanks Brandon!

Cameron service advisor is awesome! Best customer service and got excellent work done on my RV. Cameron also checked on us after we received our RV to make sure we had recd all work as promised. All warranty was competed correctly and newly purchased upgrades were completed as promised and actually delivered before the date due! Worst customer service, salesmen was rude. Walked away within 2 mins of being there. Didn’t even let us walk around and look around.

After visiting with a couple of representatives from Mike Thompson’s RV Super Store at this year’s RV show in Pomona, we were under the impression that they would be selling some pop-​up campers (not A-​frames) that we could tow with my Outback.
We specified that we wanted a certain size & a list of amenities. Not pre-​owned. We specified the Outback. We specified that we were from Downey and that Santa Fe Springs is a hop and a skip away… «Oh yeah, come on over and see us. We’ll take care of you.»
To make a story short, we arrived to shop here on 10÷27÷15 only to be met by a salesperson who told us, «We got out of that [pop-​up camper trailer] market.»

The salesman was nice, but if a place of business tells me they have what I want then they don’t when I get there… That. Is. Lame. Not to mention unprofessional since you didn’t know the proper information to tell me & my family.

Service department is completely incompetent! We have had our Tiffin motorhome in for a defective slider, (defective when we bought it brand new) three times and they cannot seem to fix it. We are on another trip and have to manually push the slider in and out. Don’t know if it will continue to operate or not. We bought this motorhome new in January 2015 and noticed the slider would not operate properly. They keep telling us they’ve done everything they can and that’s «just the way it is.» You shouldn’t have to help a slider in and out no matter what! This service department either doesn’t want to repair it, or can’t. Don’ t go here!

Called at 11:00 Saturday morning, asked for parts. Got voicemail. Msg says «Hi, I“m away from my desk, will get back to you as soon as I can.» By 7:00 this evening they still haven’t gotten back. The telephone operator transferred me to this number TWICE. I hung up the first time, then called back, got the VM again, and left my contact information.
This is about the sorriest excuse for customer service I’ve seen in quite a while. If your office is closed, SAY SO! Don’t act like you’re in the office and will get back to me shortly.
Can’t rate this zero stars, so I guess it’s a one for now.

Had a very favorable experience in purchasing a used RV. Patrick Henry was our saleman and worked with us on our needs in finding the perfect unit. He was very knowledgeable and after we found it worked with us on a great price and when we picked it up jumped in and personally fixed two minor problems to have us 110% satisfied when we drove off.

I went there to look at an rv listed on rv trader. The used rv’s are all sold as is, not stated on line, rv I looked at had drawers that did not even close, there was a used coffee cup on the driver side door, the counter had food stains and worst of all the sales person never showed. We had her paged a couple times but just stood there til I decided look on our own. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

I don’t believe they have a quality customer service in the service department. I believe in second chance but I don’t think they are trying so hard

I went into Mike Thompson’s RV dealership today and was helped by Xavier. He was extremely helpful and knowledgable and made my RV hunting experience easier to get through and gave me a lot of valuable information. If anyone goes in I suggest you ask for Xavier you won’t regret it!

They are trying to remodel the floor layout.
Customer parking is now on other side of the service/​parts office.
I had to back up and drive to the next driveway and walk all the way back for parts office.
Hope the new layout is not permanent, its inconvenient.

I also only gave 1 star because negative stars aren’t available. Unfortunately I don’t think Mike reads or cares about reviews. They have had our RV which is new for 6 weeks now and still not done

I bought my Tiffin 36la from Mile Thompson Rv in Santa Fe Springs and I can tell you that Tom Schram has been the most helpful person I have worked with. Scott Mitchell is by far one of the best to work with as well. My salesmen Dean did a great job on the sale and i could not be more happy… Thanks to all of you guys…

I bought my Rv at Mike Thompson RV in Santa FE Springs California, this is the second RV i got from there and im really happy. The RV had a lot of issues from the manufacture that i was getting very upset but we meet Erik at the service department at Santa fe Springs and he did everything so easy and he has been very helpful.
Thank you very much Erik your boss should know how valuable of an employee you are, you made me and my family feel very secure when we are on the road.

Run away! Total scam!
We purchased the RV and waited to pick it up next weekend… but… it was sold, then it was at the show, then it was damaged, then it was on the road from east coast to be delivered tomorrow, then in a week. Seriously???
And this is when the nightmare started!!! Trying to cancel the deal because of all the reasons above. Receptionist connected me to nowhere, her answer was — you gonna hang on as long as it takes! Manager never called back and after a week playing a detective I got him! He approved cancellation! Yeah!
Waited another month… Then cancelled myself through the bank!
I am writing this review 6 months after, I was still too angry. Now I am not and I want you to think twice before you deal with them.
I heard from my friend that service is the worst! He turned his new RV for awning fix, came to pick it up — no where found!!! 2 weeks later it was parked at other location with 200 miles more.
Be smart! Don’t do it to yourself!

Soaring to new levels of mediocrity!
Yes sir, these guys are right out there on the cutting-​edge of self-​satisfaction with their stunningly smug «Looks okay to me» attitude toward their customers. If this is their business model, then their «business as usual» is really «business as fuck you.» Sorry, but if you’d spent upwards of $ 65, 000 for a brand-​new vehicle and experienced what I have, I think you’d be pissed too. Hell, and I just have a tiny thing compared to some of these mega land-​yachts in their lot. Maybe I’m just a small-​fry and they can’t see me way down here. Maybe they’ll hear me now.
They’ve had my RV for (literally) weeks and I still own the problem. Right from the start when the salesman told me the cracks I pointed out (and they acknowledged in writing), would take «No time» and «Our body shop people are amazing», «Minor, 1 day, maybe two max» to a two-​week service stay before they told me the cracks needed to be fixed by Thor, the body mfr in Ohio! (I had to call them because no one had called me.). No way was it going back to Ohio on my dime or time! So, later, after I guess they had a «business meeting”*, my service guy called and said «We can do it 2 – 3 days». One week plus later and…
Today, told it was ready, my friend noticed the patch job from 20′ away. He had also been there each time and witnessed all the bull… I mean, promises. The cracks appear gone but the paint job looks like it was done in Tijuana. No shit. Why’d I «buy American»? The quality was not there. The RV is one color and then here’s this big splotch of yellow! This might have been acceptable to someone who just doesn’t give a flying fuck or it goes back to their business model. You know, the «fuck you» one. So now, my options appear to be:
1. Say fuckit, accept the mediocre workmanship and move on (not my style).
2. Bring it back for another week and another round and possibly do additional damage (I’m ready to fight).
3. Have a J. Walker Black and think about it.
Yeah well, that’s what I think I’m going to do, Number 3. Car dealers hurt my head and Christmas is just around the corner. I don’t want to think about them anymore. And I know exactly what I get with Johnny Walker Black, no b.s., 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed, either big fish or little bitty small-fry.That’s a promise I can trust and rely on.
*Regarding the «business meeting», note they cannot use «business» for the meeting title without usage of the b and s.
