Southern California School of Interpretation, Inc

I had been translating for some years now and I recently finished the full Medical Interpretation Course with the school. In a way, the knowledge I received here was nothing I couldn’t get from the internet but at least professional institutions and certifications recognize this school as meeting the requirement to get accredited (I haven’t tried yet, but supposedly)
The problem is, once I finished the course I requested some information and my certificate of completion and they cut all communications with me. Before, when I was still in the course, any request would be answered in max 5 days. Now I have written to them at least 4 times requesting information and updates about my certificate which hasn’t arrived, I just want to know which address I chose to have it delivered but they don’t even answer.
Last time somebody answered my email and simply said «Barbie will contact you soon» who the hell is Barbie? You mean the doll?
So unprofessional, I’m going to call today and if I don’t get an answer I’m going to start a lawsuit since the whole course cost more than $ 1500 and I’m losing clients since they’re requesting a certificate and I can’t show them any.

I attended this school a few years back and I called to ask for my records so I can resume school or see what I had already completed… I called and was told they dont keep track of ur records after a few years. Really??? any school u gon) to should keep records of there students. Very disappointed you charge so much money and dont provide proof of completion… Rediculous!

I have been considering this place to continue with the second level of education for my Interpreter course, I was very please with the staff and the instructor, 5 stars to them. Today I made a cal, l to get more information about the next semester and ask to speak with someone in Spanish since I’m at work and couldn’t speak in English to avoid problems with my co-​workers. to my surprise the receptionist tells me there is no one there that speaks Spanish… !!! I was speechless !!! I had to make sure I called the right place and she said yes this is Southern California School of Interpretation, Inc.
How can the staff not be bilingual when is a prestigious school educating interpreters (English-​Spanish) I’m still in shock.

Staff is professional and they really care about my success. The material is outstanding and the professors are the absolute best! I was able to become a certified healthcare interpreter and I’m soon going to take the court state test. Oh, and Mr Wagner is the best! He’s so thorough and knowledgable. I can’t thank him and the staff enough. Thanks SCSI! :)

I have been studying here since 2007. They guided me until I became certified and once certified, they keep being my source of continuing education. I would go nowhere else! Professional, helpful, courteous staff and extraordinarily prepared teachers. Quality.
