It looks good. The staff was nice, but it tasted like it came out of a bag. Way too much sugar, to compensate for the lack of richness. Sugar is used to compensate for the lack of traditional Chinese American Cuisine flavor. I went because I saw a three star review. Needless to say, but I was very disappointed. Maybe the people in Santa Fe New Mexico don’t know what real American Chinese food should taste like? :(. It’s a shame because they have potential. All it would take is somebody to make the effort to adjust the recipes so that they don’t taste like every other Chinese fast food fill a Styrofoam box for five bucks restaurant. The problem with that is this, the food taste like a fill a Styrofoam box for five bucks, but it actually cost a lot more. A LOTMORE

I arrived in town this past Friday after what turned out to be an unusually long trip from my home in Colorado. As I was staying in a nearby motel – and as this was within walking distance – I decided to come here, all in spite of some barely mediocre reviews. Because of those other reviews, I decided to keep my order simple and steer clear from things that might be easier to ruin. For this reason, I simply did the Sweet and Sour Chicken combo plate and a small order of wonton soup. The good: The chicken was, surprisingly, rather good. It was made with extremely tender white meat chicken and perfectly fried. Even the sauce was freshly made and served separately. This, all done in a restaurant that was immaculately clean when I arrived, in spite of a fairly busy clientele. I noticed the kitchen also looked clean when I was able to snatch a glance inside. In addition, the server was attentive and friendly. The bad: The pork fried rice which came with the dinner was absolutely hideous. Maybe I came on a bad day? I don’t know, but I’d like to think that it would be better than what I was served – which tasted old, stale, and blech. It remained untouched. The egg roll which came with the dinner and the wonton soup I ordered as an appetizer were both meh. Though it would appear this isn’t the place to go for anything remotely fancy, you can get by with an inexpensive meal that’s perfectly OK. If I lived in this area, or if I stay again at this motel, there’s a fair chance I’d be back.

Cleaner than average Chinese food place located in a quiet area of a nice shopping mall in Santa Fe. They had nice table and booth seating. There is a fast food type counter at front door or you can go left and be seated for a meal. There were decently priced lunch and dinner specials, note there are NO lunch specials on Sunday. No buffet, but lots of the standard fare. We had a light meal with egg drop soup, pork fried rice, fried dumplings, steak on a stick and the house special soup. It was pretty good. The dumplings were the best part– very tasty and not overcooked. The house soup was basically a very large bowl of broth with a large variety of veggies and chicken and shrimp– which for some might taste bland, but was perfect for me. Nothing special, but the rest of the meal was satisfying. I really did not like the steak on a stick, maybe if it was grilled it would have had a better taste, but it was pan fried and stale. Overall a decent but not too exciting Chinese place. The young woman serving us was very pleasent even when I watched her dealing with a rude customer.

Called in an order from their«diet» menu to not have the meal drowning in sauce. Got the entrees filled with sauce. Called to see if they would remake our order and the blame was promptly shifted to us. They refused to take responsibility or any action to make things right. I will NEVER patronize this business again and will always recommend dining with an establishment that understands customer service. Can’t give lower than one star. Update: So much sauce on the seafood that not even my cat would eat a shrimp. AVOID this restaurant.

I walked into Double Dragon and it felt like I was walking into an old restaurant from my parents era in an old dying strip mall. Took a quick look around, there was no one there and I would soon find out why. It felt like it was an inconvenience to the young kid who walked me to the first table by the front door and plopped the menus down. I politely asked if I could sit in a booth away from the front door. With a quick«Yeah, sure» he walked away. I picked up my menus and chose a booth. After a quick glance at the daily specials my son and I chose something to eat. After a lengthy wait of 15 minutes he dropped of some waters and asked if we were ready. I ordered the sweet and sour pork special and I believe that my son ordered the sweet and sour chicken as well. Our food came swimming in a pool of grease. The egg rolls tasted like they came from the frozen section of Sam’s Club. I am not even going to describe how unpleasant our entries were. Clearly, once is more than enough for some places.

Greasy and not very tasty at all. Decided to try them again after a disappointing first time after relocating here from No Cal and thought it would be better the second time but it was worse. Fried rice has no flavor and the all vegetable lo mein was terrible!

The worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The table to begin with was nasty, the guy wiped it with wet towel and that was it he didnt even wipe it with a dry towel after. I can’t believe they served an uncooked fried rice, and it didn’t even taste like fried rice, my husband ordered chicken broccoli and they gave him some kind of slimy cabage chicken which was so gross. I’d rather go to Panda Express, so much better in my opinion.

Food is OK and a decent value. I had a special combo platter with Kung Po chicken, fried rice, and an egg roll. My total came to about $ 9, which isn’t expensive but definitely not super cheap as many previous reviewers have said. Maybe they have raised their prices recently. I agree with the previous reviewers who said the food was bland. The Kung Po chicken and rice were almost flavorless, and the Kung Po chicken had no heat despite it being listed as «spicy» on the menu. The cooks at this restaurant should realize that this is Santa Fe, where spicy food is the norm. The definitely need to improve in the flavor department. If they were side by side, I’d choose Panda Express over Double Dragon, but I’ll continue going to Double Dragon since they’re close to my house.

I have eaten here a few times and the food is really good, but on my last visit I wasn’t very impressed with the behavior of the female owner. She berated this young teenage couple, that were obviously on a date, for being $ 2 short on their bill. $ 2 isn’t going to put her out of business. She could have shown a little more compassion instead of embarrassing them in front of the entire restaurant. She wanted the them to leave her their cell phones until they came back with the $ 2. It made the whole dinning room uncomfortable. Luckily, another male, I’m assuming her husband, waited til she went to the kitchen then gave them their phones and told them not to worry about it. When we left, I left $ 2 in change on the table they were at with a note telling her, politely, how mean she was over $ 2. Aftrr we left we saw that same couple, sitting in the cold, waiting for the bus. That just made me more upset with the owner. Those poor kids. Then just today I decided to place an order to go. When she answered the phone not only was she short and rude with me but didn’t give me a chance to finish my order and hung up before I could give her a name. That upset me so I decided to call back and cancel my order. When she answered the phone, she immediately said«Hold please» in a rude and abrupt manner and just slammed the phone down on the counter. Didn’t give me a second to reply. So I decided then, not only was I not to going to hold, but I’m not picking up my order either. I’ll never do business with them again. It’s sad because the food is really good, her staff is very nice, but she ruins your whole experience. I’ll go elsewhere and we eat Chinese food a lot.

Best Chinese I’ve had in Santa Fe since moving here in February. Believe me, we’ve been trying to find a place that can make a general’s chicken, crab rangoon and beef lo mien like from home… It’s still not the same, but it’s the closest we’ve found. Chicken was crispy and just the right amount of sauce, although the sauce was too thick, maybe they put a little too much cornstarch. The chicken came with white rice, included in the price. The lo mien was tasty and steak well cooked, the noodles were thicker than I’m used to though. Crab rangoon was made with imitation meat, which I know is pretty standard, but the wraps were crisp and crunchy, not greasy or soggy. I liked that they have all the condiments and fortune cookies in bins to serve yourself when ordering take-out. We walked in one night around 8:30 and ordered. We left to get a bottle of wine at the other end of the parking lot and food was ready right when we got back, nice and quick. I’ll be back!

I will never return! I witnessed employees dropping things on the floor and then setting on top of counter tops!!! Not to mention they also had horrible customer service!!!

Best Lunch special in Santa Fe! I moved here from L.A. and can’t tell you how awesome it was to find a cheap place with decent portions. I haven’t found anywhere that beats the price! The Chinese food is good but not anything like it was in the city, everything in Santa Fe is ridiculously overpriced!

Great parking, so-so service, good soup, decent menu variety, friendly owner and staff, clean and neat. Occasionally crowded at lunch, sometimes at dinner. Lots of carryout activity. The food is well prepared and presented and the servings are large. Excellent prices. It is lacking a creative spark or a specialty dish. A calm and quiet place to stop for a meal. The bit about grabbing all the soy sauce bottles for cleaning while there are still diners isn’t good. In my opinion this should change. Other restaurants manage to get this sort of thing done by replacing what they’ve taken off the table so as not to inconvenience the diners. Recent meals there have suffered due to service issues. Their after 6:00 p.m. service is by one server for the entire operation… last time I was there this wasn’t working out well so I haven’t been back. She was trying hard but overwhelmed by the crowd and getting no relief.

Decent food, fast, cheap and convenient location wise. I did get really sick once like seriously puking all night long from their sweet and sour chicken. I didn’t complain but i sure as heck never ate that there again! I’m still suspicious about going back actually.

It’s not a bad Chinese restaurant at all. I order here all the times for work. They’re fast but very slow during lunch and dinner. If you order togo, just call in ahead of time and when they say 10 mins and the food will be ready, make it 30. I can’t really say that they have unique or special course that helps them stand out. Pretty generic Chinese food kinda place. Oh and their togo menu has coupons on the back. Use them.

We decided to be spontaneous and try Double Dragon when we found out our favorite Santa Fe chinese place wasn’t open yet and I am so glad we did. First, the food is wonderful. We shared orange chicken and sesame chicken and both dishes were delicious, flavorful and fresh. Second, the prices are fantastic. We each got a combo meal(Do it, you won’t regret it). We each got a main dish, pork fried rice and an egg roll all for under $ 8. The fried rice was delicious and the egg roll was awesome. We will definitely be adding this into our santa fe restaurant rotation.

Amazing food and a great price. Yeah the owner reminds you of the«soup nazi» from Seinfeld. But in my eyes that’s a good thing given there food was great and abundant. A lot of food for great price what more can a dinner want for take out. On a side note there waitress was way Hot. Almost made my take out a dine in order. LoL

Let me start by saying, this was a great meal. I ordered the special that came with pork fried rice, orange chicken and an egg roll for about $ 7.95. The waitstaff was friendly, and the ambiance of the place was great. The only drawbacks were: 1. Location: the location wasn’t great. It’s located in the back and to the side of Albertson’s. It’s kinda hidden, in my opinion. 2. No kids menu. Luckily, my 5 year old loves egg drop soup, other than that, be willing to spend the money on a regular sized plate. All in all, this was a good place for some good inexpensive Chinese food.

We were running way behind. My sister always runs by the last second to get anywhere. So in our haste to GETSOMEGOODCHINESEFOOD I was driving like a mad woman through Santa Fe breaking speed limits. We could not find this place to save our life. But we were as determined as Bruce Lee to win this fight haha. We called the restaurant to get directions and we were in a tailspin trying to figure out our north from our east. FINALLY! This grasshopper found the way. We were just in time to order take-out and they were just kind enough to accommodate our hunger. We ordered the potstickers, spring rolls, shrimp fried rice, Mongolian Beef, and the Hunan Beef. My sister said, «How do we know it’s good Chinese food.» I said, «Hold on.» As I was sniffing the air when the sauces hit the wok. I said, «It’s good Chinese food. Trust me. I know.» We were so happy with every bite. Each meal had so much meat which made us very happy. We love the beef. We ate and ate till we could not eat anymore. THEN! On our way out of town headed home we stopped again to get some more. Beef Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, and spring rolls. We ate for two days after we got home. We definitely will be back!
