Dirk sent his son to see why our garage door was making a funky noise. The son not only took care of the door in question, but he also serviced our 2nd garage door at no extra charge. That’s customer service. :-)

If I could give NO stars… I would. We had two springs on our double garage door. One broke. We scheduled an appointment at 4:00pm. I took off work only to be called at 4:05pm saying they wouldn’t be arriving until almost 5:00pm, so I took off work for nothing. The owners son did the work… he decided I didn’t need two springs and replaced them with only one. He fought with it until 6:30pm when Dirk showed up and told him how to fix it. He finally finished around 7:20pm. 39 Days later, the spring broke around 10:00pm at night. I tried calling and left voicemail and sent email. No response. Called many times the next morning and the owner finally answered, he said he received the calls and email… and I’m like… duh? You can’t reply or let someone know? I explained that both vehicles are trapped and we’re asking him to repair the spring that snapped. His reply floored me… Now, this was on December 16, 2015, and he said that the next available date he could work on it was the first week in January. I again stated that we can’t open the door, his spring is broken and we need our vehicles out to go make a living… several times I requested his help that day and his rude answer was«He has an opening the first week of January.» I called Overhead Garage Door, and they had a guy at my house within 45 minutes. That tech stated that our door was too large for one spring. He installed two springs and they’re working perfect. I requested a refund from Garage Pro,(aka DIRK), he ignored my requests for over a month until I threatened to sue in small claims court… and then he had attitude like I was the«bad guy» when he sent me a refund check. Read his page below, he says he guarantees his work. He also stated 24⁄7 service. And that’s apparently just a bunch of BS. I’m not saying don’t use this company, I’m just relating my experiences so you can make an informed decision. That’s what Unilocal is all about.

Dirk answered the phone himself and found & ordered me the most affordable product in town. I was happy that he installed the door upon arrival and that I could support a local business – opposed to the larger box-competitors(which he beat by a little over $ 100 and I got the insulated door!). The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was a light scratch on the door(not sure if it was there before or after installation) and they left the old door. The door works great and was installed perfectly. I would certainly call Dirk before any other company. Thanks Dirk and team! –David P.
