I had my 1st root canal earlier this week. Dr. Kahn and his staff were FANTASTIC! Dr. Kahn took the time to ensure I was comfortable and he explained every step of the procedure.

Dr. Kahn, a diplomate in his field is one of the very best endodontists in the Santa Fe/Los Alamos area. His skill, chair side manner and office were highly professional and kind. I have had root canals from several other doctors in the area and ended up in his office after a botched one by another endodontist. He was infinitely kind, re-doing the root canal and now that I have had several — after each procedure he has phoned in the evening to check on me — emblematic of his care. His Santa Fe office is state of the art, the environment incredibly calming and his staff are warm and professional. Dr. Kahn is my top choice.

I have good dental hygiene and had relatively healthy teeth. I was sent to Dr. Kahn by my dentist who thought I might need a root canal. After sawing off my old crown, Dr. Kahn said I did not have a dying nerve, but it was his opinion I should get a root canal anyway since«I might need one later one with this tooth,» so I agreed. Afterwards there was a LOT of pain, even after the new crown was glued on. I went back to Dr. Kahn for help. He drilled down the bite surfact of the tooth. Afterwards, I then had a sharp edge on the crown, due to thedepth at which he filed or drilled the crown. I learned to live with it, but it was uncomfortable on my tongue. The tooth still hurt. I think he damaged the tooth next to the one he did the root canal on, as it became infected and subsequently needed a root canal(by another endodontist this time) shortly afterwards. Within 1 – 2 years after his work, the crown broke where he made the edge too thin from the adjustment. I have NEVER had a crown break before. I have since moved, but based on my experience, do not go to this doctor.

I was a patient of this dentist twice. Unfortunately, each time disastrous outcome ensued. Once, I was in **tremendous** pain for weeks, after his root canal. It turned out, as a good dentist told me, that he created a false/fake root, the cause of the pain, which destroyed the tooth pretty quickly. I lost the tooth a couple of months after this guy’s «treatment». Interestingly enough, when I constantly complained about this debacle he insisted on paying ½ of the hefty fee he’s charging! What an outrage! Keep clear of that dentist!
