Don’t have much to say, except that it’s the best cup of coffee in town. Haven’t stopped for a smoothie or an espresso drink, but the black lightening keeps me coming back when I’m on that side of town in the morning

Opens early, hot coffee, good service, and a neat little coffee shop. If you don’t do anything wrong, you are doing everything right. 5 stars for sure!

I don’t often get up to Santa Fe, but when I do it’s always at ridiculously early hours when too much blood has seeped into my caffeine system and I’m in need of a quick fix. Pony Espresso is a great drive-up coffee stand. Their brewed coffee is great, and the food is delicious. Just this weekend I was passing it in need of both coffee and breakfast, and opted for the ham, Swiss and green chile quiche. The quiche really hit the spot and the green chile had just enough zing. The place is for sale, and I hope the new owner keeps the quality as high as the current owner’s.

This little stand has some of the best specialty coffee I’ve had. They can do anything Starbucks can do(but better) and they have amazing unique espresso drinks on top of all that. I first tried the red chili mocha and will not go back. It’s a «southwest kick in the pants» perfect for a Saturday morning. They also have amazing quiche and huuuuge cinnamon rolls you can get warmed up. Steve who owns the stand is such a sweetheart. We told him we were from out of town and he gave us such a warm welcome and told us all the things we needed to check out in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. We’re been here every weekend since we moved and I don’t see a need for the trend to ever stop.

ok, so even if the espresso drinks weren’t that fantastic, which they are, I’d give this place 5 stars for opening up at 6AM! yes, a place in Santa Fe for working people… finally. I can’t tell you how many days I’ve driven around to local places looking for a place which even opens at 7AM – no luck. On the days I drive to Los Alamos for work, I can now count on the super friendly folks at Pony Espresso to start my day off right, because I’m just too lazy to get up and make breakfast before 6AM. And try a slice of quiche, it’s quite good. This is a real mom and pop establishment, and they do a great job, so try it, especially you folks who have to be at work by 7AM.
