We went here for a late breakfast. We actually just stumbled on to it and so glad we did. The dinning room is simple and elegant in the Southeastern style. Very clean and full of light. We were promptly greeted and seated at a window table. The breakfast menu is kind of sparse, just a dozen or so selections but they all sound delicious. My wife ordered the Belgian waffles and I got the Santa Fe Benedict. Waffles & bacon are well, waffles and bacon but beautifully prepared and presented. Our waitress suggested the Santa Fe Benedict and it was outstanding. You won’t be getting this dish anywhere else. Two perfectly poached eggs on top of a light and crisp potato pancake with a bed of sautéed spinach in between. It’s topped off with a green chili hollandaise sauce. The sauce give the dish a very pleasant heat but nothing here is overpowering. It’s a really well balanced dish. To top everything off the service was delightful. Casual but professional. I’d go back here in a heartbeat.

Just stopped here for brunch and it was absolutely amazing. We had reservations on the patio & the service was top notch all the way through. Each dish ordered was incredibly flavorful and well prepared. The huevous rancheros were the best I’ve had… Highly recommend.

First, the positive… the bar and margs were good. The bad… the staff in the restaurant were extremely rude. They wouldn’t even serve me and my daughters chips while we were in the bar! Anyone with kids knows that hungry kids that have been walking around all day is a BAD combination. While I was enjoying a margarita I couldn’t even give my girls a snack. All I needed was a couple of chips to hold them over until we could get somewhere else. Julie the owner was incredibly rude and dismissive. I wouldn’t go there again if you paid me. If it weren’t for the margaritas this place would have gotten a 1 star!

We came here for lunch after Café Pasquals had this huge line up. We were glad they were otherwise we never would have stopped by this place. I had the cowboy scramble with braised pork ribs, eggs, green chili, chives, red onion, hollandaise sauce, over a bed of crispy breakfast potatoes. It was sooooooo delicious. I was on the edge of choosing the casa desayuno eggs plate, but the waiter suggested the scramble. The lady got the omelet with spinach, mushrooms, and cheese with breakfast potatoes. We both very much enjoyed the food and service. It was a bit pricey, but so worth it. The dining room has a bunch of windows opening out to a high traffic street. So if you like people watching…

Took my mom for lunch during restaurant week. The service was great and the food was very good. Mom had the artichoke/tomato soup with the green chile cheeseburger and I had the green chile chicken corn chowder with the grilled three cheese sandwich. Everything was excellent. The reasons I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars are: 1) My mom commented her burger would have been outstanding had they salt/pepper(seasoned the meat) while it was cooking; 2) A couple with an extreme brat 3 – 4 year old child was seated and the child had a non-stop tantrum. The father decided to give the child his iPhone and played some video with the volume turned all the way up. Neither parent made any attempt to take the child outside or into the facilities or anything. If we were at McDonald’s it would be one thing, but this is a 3-star restaurant and the staff does have the responsibility to address the situation.

Excellent restaurant. Had an amazing Valentines dinner there as well as numerous exceptional brunches. Not sure why the poor reviews. The food is phenomenal and definitely recommend going. I think there is too much expectations placed on the adjacent legendary bar which brings things down for the restaurant. Strongly encourage! Ben is a terrific server and a cool dude.

First, I want to say that our server was very attentive, prompt, and an all around pleasure. We started with some calamari, which seems to be our go to these days. Light, crisp, and served with an aioli and chunky marinara, it was a good starter. Then we had the warm goat cheese salad, which had a tasty vinaigrette and toasted goat cheese coins. Also, we had the lamb chops, which were paired with mashed potatoes, a puff pastry filled with spinach and peppers, and a wonderful chimichurri. We really like the old Spanish style of the restaurant and the Hotel St. Francis. It’s classic, calming, and not the typical southwest Spanish fiesta décor of a lot of other places in Santa Fe.

We really liked this place! The food was delicious and the service was exceptional! We had the steak, which was cooked perfectly. We also had the flourless chocolate cake which was amazing as well! All in all, a great place to go!

Below average food, but as expensive as Santa Fe’s best restaurants. Calamari was rubber and overcooked, roasted chile chicken chowder wAs lukewarm.

Tabla needs to work on the attitude of the hostess. The restaurant was half empty & she insisted that they were fully booked & we needed a reservation. I went to OpenTable, found a spot & made the reservation for 45min later… Couldn’t she have told me that there was an open table later? When we came back, the same tables that were empty 45min ago were still empty!!! Why did we need a reservation & the wait? It seemed so stupid. Isn’t Tabla interested in making money? The only reason we ended up at Tabla was because everything else in walking distance was fully booked! The food only half made up for it. It was generally good. The crab meat butter lettuce had the right ideas but was smothered in too much dressing. The poutine is interesting but its own meal. The individual components of the lamb chops were good on their own but there was too much going on to really bring them together. My recommendation is less is more & get rid of the hostess, she’s bad for business.

My elderly handicapped mother and I stopped in for dinner here. It was not yet 6pm and the restaurant was nearly empty, but three employees would not seat us because they didn’t want to «step on the toes» of the manager, who was on break. My mom, in pain, sat down. fIve minutes later the manager scolded us for seating ourselves. I asked her name and she refused to tell me, and threatened to call security. I’ve lived here in SF over 20 years and been here several times before. The food is average, and expensive, and if you can go to Pasqual’s across the street its with the wait, and they are very friendly. Santa Fe has many great restaurants, so why go somewhere with a nasty manager and so-so food?

Since we had overeaten at every meal in Santa Fe, we decided to split an entrée here. We each started with a salad. Both were huge. Husband’s was the warm goat cheese, which was very fresh, but the vinaigrette lacked flavor, and he ended up salting it, which helped a little. I had the beet salad, and the beets were good, but again, the vinaigrette lacked flavor, and it was hard to get a little fennel and orange(not much of that) in every bite with the beets and lettuce to increase the flavor. Then we split the short ribs, which was a monstrous portion, and very tender. Good, but not fabulous. Adequate mashed potatoes and pureed peas, and delicious roasted carrots. A little more training would help the servers. Service was attentive, except that we had to ask for a plate so we could split our food. The chef won’t split in the kitchen, which is understandable, since his plates are beautiful. Our server asked for the paid check/receipt as we were still sitting there for 5 minutes, then he and the others started noisily clearing plates off the empty tables all around, even though there were still 2 other tables in the dining room at 9:30 on Saturday night. These details are especially important with the prices at this restaurant.

Gorgeous setting and food was tasty. Interesting ordered the tomato soup and it was very metallic. Called the hostess over and, in a huff, she removed the soup and the parmesean crisp practically out of my hand. Turns out she’s the owner.

Not generally a big breakfast/brunch gal, especially when I’m on vacation and eating big meals every night, but we wanted to check out the Hotel St. Francis. Menu and prices for dinner were a little off-putting, so breakfast it is. We were ushered in to a nearly empty dining room at 10 am. It was large and obviously redone, but retaining the old beamed ceiling and gargantuan fireplace. Lovely setting, I felt as though I were in colonial New Mexico. The menu is large and varied with moderate prices, considering this is a swanko hotel. Here’s what we got: Orange juice: tasted as though someone went out and picked the fruit and squeezed it to order! Santa Fe Benedict — House made potato pan cakes, topped with organic sautéed spinach, two poached eggs, pinto beans and red chile hollandaise: I had planned to have huevos rancheros, which I love, but this sounded good, and it was! the potato pancakes were thin and crisp; way better than an English muffin, and whoever dreamed up chile hollandaise, bravo! I’m definitely going to try that if I ever make hollandaise(which probably won’t). The beans were so-so, but I didn’t order this for the beans. Blue corn pancakes– Scented with a touch of lemon, topped with a fresh raspberry coulis, served with green chile sausage: These were not a favorite. I’ve never had them before, so I don’t know if blue cornmeal is supposed to cook up like this. They had sort of a gummy undercooked kind of texture. The coulis was delicious. I don’t remember the sausage, so it was either so good my companion didn’t share it, or it wasn’t memorable at all. The coffee was great — strong and rich Food: 30⁄40 Service: 16⁄20 Atmos/intangibles: 17⁄20 Value: 17⁄20 Overall: 80/100, just makes it into the 4 star category

Tabla came highly recommended. I haven’t had dinner here yet, but just finished breakfast. It was one of the best ever, anywhere: green chile sausage patties, hash browns, eggs smothered in red chile(red chile is extra), and great toast. Plus the place is quiet, uncrowded and sunny. A really delightful way to start the day.

I was surprised to see the Tabla de Los Santos was part of the Hotel St. Francis. That said, it was worth the research. We were warmly greeted and seated at a quiet table. The service continued at a professional, attentive but not intrusive level. The menu options are excellent; the beet salad was from the local farmers market. The New Mexico lamb chops were perfectly done, as was the locally-sourced pork chop; a thick cut grilled to the absolute optimal doneness. And how does one make kale and beets awesome? Not sure how, but they did it. The strudel with mushrooms that accompanied the lamb was a fascinating study in texture and taste, almost an au gratin. Glad we decided on Tabla.

It was a costy meal. Though the price range on Unilocal is 2 dollars, the reality was that every main course is around 30 dollars for dinner. The Alaskan Halibut was fine, the stater, prawn was over salted. May 2nd

Probably 3.5 stars. We were guests in the hotel and had made a point of dressing up, because we thought it was a nicer restaurant. We were very concerned when we were seated by a woman wearing jeggings and flip-flops! That seemed pretty unprofessional for a hostess of a nice restaurant(we later learned that she is a co-owner and the wife of the chef/owner — especially unprofessional!). Luckily, the service improved from there, and we had a wonderful waitress in Medina. She was friendly, attentive, and gave us great suggestions. She was also very professional. This is an expensive meal that doesn’t really compare to the other upper-end steakhouses I’ve been to in Denver and Las Vegas. We enjoyed portions of the meal immensely, like the green chile/feta hummus, and the poutine as a starter. We both ordered different steaks, and they were good, but not great. I ordered a medium steak, and it was absolutely medium-rare, if not a bit rare. The asparagus and potato were fine, but again, not exceptional for a $ 30-some meal. The chocolate lava cake was delicious, but similar to others I’ve had. This was a good meal, all in all.

I am so glad I made it a point to go here for brunch today. The courtyard seating was gorgeous. More than that, the brunch menu was excitingly different than the standard New Mexican fare. Of course your staples are there, like huevos rancheros. Then there are delights like chicken and waffles and a corned beef and beet hash. It’s easy to pass by Tabla when there are so many classic Santa Fe eateries nearby but it’s definitely worth trying. Paired with cocktails from Secreto it is going to be at the top of my list for downtown brunch from now on. Also, Ben’s service was friendly and jovial but never unprofessional. The chef on duty, Xander is clearly a creative force. It’s a simple thing but I really appreciate perfect waffles and they are rarely done to perfection. BEST chicken and waffles ever. I can’t wait to go back for dinner. FYI locals, even though Tabla is in Hotel St. Francis it is owned and operated by a husband and wife duo, not the corporate company who owns the hotel.
