Food is very good here. I find myself craving their food sometimes. Service is good too… Ambience is fine, if forgettable. The bar is good too… It’s quick, easy, delicious… and reasonably priced. What’s not to like?

Overall, it was okay. The coffee is what you’d expect. Brown, hot, not very flavorful. My juevos rancheros(over easy, red, black, corn) were good – I’d give them 3.5 stars. Maybe 4. My daughter had pork chops, eggs, and hash browns. The hash browns were perfect. The pork was on the dry side. The eggs were pretty good. She also had a strawberry smoothie, which was more like a dessert than I was expecting, but was okay. The men’s room smelled strongly of urine. The service was good. A little slow, but typical of the area and we were in no hurry so it worked out just fine!

Tortilla flats is always a favorite for good traditional NEWMEXICAN food! Wait was a little longer than expected but not bad especially compared to some places in Santa Fe. I love their nice big sopapillas. The food is very tasty and portions and nice and big. I love the green chile enchiladas but you can get them christmas too.

We were there for dinner. Great margaritas. Ordered the fajita plate for 2. I think we had a new waitress. She forgot the sides that comes with order, except my husband asked and she soon brought it out. Plate was ok, but very little fajitas and alot of bellpeppers. Thought was a little too expensive at about $ 25.

Lately the food here hasn’t been great at all. I’ve been pretty disappointed every time I’ve gone within the past couple of years. You’d be better off trying somewhere else.

I was happy with Tortilla Flats. I was in Santa Fe for a vacation over the Thanksgiving day weekend. I was looking at points of interest in Santa Fe and passed this restaurant twice. It was time for a good Mexican food meal. We asked at the hotel if it was a good restaurant. The person that I talked to said that they ate there regularly. We gave it a try. Both of us chose the combination plate. The food was presentable, tasted good, and came in a timely manner. Our waitress did forget our sopapillas and needed a reminder. It was not expensive and I did enjoy the experience.

I went to Tortilla Flats because it’s supposed to be where the locals eat. I had once lived in the Santa Fe area and had somehow missed it so I wanted to see if it lived up to its hype. I ordered the bean and chorizo burrito with red chile, thinking it would be a basic item they would either master or fail. As this was lunch and I’m on a working«vacation», I did not have any alcohol. The burrito was good — but not stellar. I think it would have been better had I ordered the chile on the side, which tasted like it was simply from a can of Hatch Red Enchilada Sauce. Hey, that’s OK, it’s what I keep in my own kitchen — but it did overpower the rest of the food. The burrito was also served luke-warm, which causes me to wonder how long it was sitting before it was brought to me. To be fair, the place was absolutely packed, but I feel I may have been overlooked as I was dining alone. Upon arrival, I had been asked to seat myself and then had to wait another 10 – 15 minutes before flagging down someone to get me a menu. The service was very friendly, just not efficient. There are some things I wish were different. I think it’s odd that a Mexican joint doesn’t offer chips and salsa(I couldn’t even find that on the menu. Didn’t really see any appetizers on the menu except during Happy Hour at the cantina). Judging by the food of the other patrons, I suspect their green chile is more authentic. It also seems the higher reviews are from people who love its bar, so it might not be the greatest place for those who aren’t drinking at the time. Overall, I’m certain I’ll be back, at which point I’ll order different items.

Recommended by my hotel. Great choice! I highly recommend the Ultimate Margarita and soft shell beef brisket taco. The flavor of the meat was amazing! And, the shell was full of meat not just shell and other flavors hiding the meat. Service at the bar was great.

We’ve stopped here twice and both times everything was fresh and delicious! My new favorite place in Santa Fe. The staff is friendly and courteous.

This is where the locals go for the best chile in town, maybe on all of God’s green earth. Get a quart of chile to go too!

We had Carne Asada and a brisket chimichanga and was all very good and lots of food. The complimentary chips were not good. Prices were reasonable, service from Julia was excellent. Atmosphere was not right in the area we sat in, felt like we were in a fast food restaurant due to the very white LED bulbs. Would suggest replacing with 2700 — 3000K range led bulbs.

I love love love Tortilla Flats. Most visitors to Santa Fe need to know about this local’s favorite gem. Their atmosphere is laid back and nice, the wait staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. My favorite is the Homemade Corned Beef Hash!!! It’s fresh! And unlike any other. Believe me after moving out of Santa Fe almost 20 years ago I still daydream about it.

Came in with my family and in-laws. They were not very busy but it still took them way more time than really should be needed to put 3 tables together. We finally ordered and the food took forever to come out. When it finally did everyhing was delivered except my daughter’s meal. We brought to there attention and they said 30 more seconds. About 10 mi s later it took my father in law getting there attention and they finally brought it. I ordered green chili tamales and the brought me red or something they call red. It was gross and so hot I couldn’t just eat it. I got a new plate with What I ordered but the green chile tasted horrible to, and they kept my fork. Clearly they don’t have a clue.

The food was underwhelming. The service was attentive but errant. Not sure why anyone would give this place 5 stars based on the meal we just ate.

Visited here for Mother’s Day. Very busy but managed to quickly seat our large group. Chile was very tasty, a little spicy but nothing to blow your head off. Loved the energy reminded me of moms house. Refried beans were A+. Fresh and hot tortillas and sopapillias. Resonbely priced. Good Mexican food in Santa Fe worth the trip. Friendly and efficient staff.

Old stand by has very good Mexican food. We had late lunch of green chile stew and tortilla soup with gigantic sopapillas. Still a good stop.

Some conflicting Unilocal reviews almost led me elsewhere, but Tortilla Flats was too close to my hotel. Glad I came — count me among their supporters. Something you don’t find in a lot of places in this country: Mexican/Tex-Mex/Southwestern(however you want to generalize) food with a good beer selection. With all due respects to The Most Interesting Man Alive, Dos Equis no longer suits my tastes, although it will do in a pinch. So, Yay! for New Mexico! Tortilla Flats had Santa Fe Black IPA on tap so that was an obvious choice. I do like their black. Food was not as easy a choice. I pass through New Mexico about every year — sometimes more often — and always like to sample the green chile dishes and the enchiladas. Tortilla Flats may not have the cutting edge NM cuisine, but there was more choices than I can eat in a sitting. In the end, I chose three small dishes: a great green chili, a solid brisket soft taco and a cheese enchilada with red sauce. The enchilada is more like what you get everywhere else but TF’s version is pretty tasty. All three dishes were good, in fact. I love the green chili. Outstanding service at the bar. Parking was not a problem, but I came in about 5:30PM.

A+++ highly recommend for breakfast. What an amazing omelette. Cheese, bacon and chorizo smothered with green chili. It was cooked to perfection.

I know that this is a town favorite, but I think the food is awful! Granted, I am not from NM and I am used to creamy Tex Mex, but I don’t get this place at all. The food has no flavor. I would like to point out that I haven’t met anyone inSanta Fe yet that doesn’t go insane for this place, so maybe it’s just me.

I should probably rate Tortilla Flats lower, but I can’t, for a few reasons. 1) There are televisions here to watch the local sportsball game. Excellent. 2) The portions here are enormous! 3) The service is quite good. Overall, this place has a more commercial, less divey/authentic feel than other restaurants, especially those on Cerillos Rd., but I don’t mind, given its pluses. The place is quite huge as well. It also serves New Mexican vs. Mexican food. Don’t get me wrong. I like the authenticity and some of the touches of Mexican food, but I also love the Americanized fatty-fatness of New Mexican food.(Homer Simpson: Hey, there’s a NEW Mexico!) I ordered the combo platter, which came with an enchilada, a relleno, and a taco with shredded pork. Awesome. The sides were sweet, too. Pozole! I feel like the word pozole should be a battle cry, but perhaps I am belying my gringo ignorance. The other side was black beans. I don’t recall anything special about the Christmas chiles I ordered, however. Perhaps that’s what you get with a place like this. But that doesn’t mean DON’T try Tortilla Flats! Try it for yourself. De gustibus non est disputandem.
