Samantha is awesome and helped me find a great rental within my price range and took good care of me as during my entire stay for over 6 months. I later moved all the way down to Mexico with my family but would highly recommend Samantha and her team to anyone.

It amazes me that Becky W. thinks she works for a 5 star company. Valdez has kept all but $ 95.67 from my $ 825,00 security deposit. Although I was not informed about them in my lease nor through a Move-out letter. They site the following charges, which by the way, in the case of the only 2 receipts I have received, don’t reflect the actual cost of service. clean chimney $ 116.85(actual $ 86.03) clean carpet $ 222.54(actual $ 138.03) no other receipts were provided clean house $ 357.44 sweep driveway, remove all trash $ 32.50 total $ 729.33. Although yesterday, Valdez told me «The receipts I sent were to show the previous tenants had the carpets and fireplace cleaned, they were not to show what the cost was supposed to be. We hired different companies to do the work, therefore the cost is different.» Really? I have numerous move-in and move-out photos, as well as a copy of my move-in Condition Report. I had checked Unilocal and google review on this company and was quite concerned based on their tract recored, so I decided to cover myself as best as I could. The apt was not cleaned when the told me I could pick-up my key at move in. I had a moving van on the way to my new apt, so I could not wait for it to be cleaned after the time I was told I could pick-up my keys. In addition I have many photos of a mold issue which Valdez was made aware of and chose not to believe, although they received those photos and sent someone out to treat it with a product not meant for mold removal. I have all emails sent between us and photos to document what I have stated. I have told Becky West I will go to court to get my deposit back, and will file after the 30 process the BBB feels it will take to complete their process.

Valdez & Associates Property Management now does business at 2235 Henry Lynch Rd, Santa Fe, NM87507 and phone is(505) 992‑1205. If you check online, there are 9 reviews of this company as of the writing of this review, all with ONESTAR rating given. 5 on Google, 3 on Yahoo &1 right here, with mine. The receptionist Susie is actually very good with helping you gain access to potential properties. But it’s not her company and the way business is run is up to the broker, Becky West, who you will see is disreputable ~ and will break the law if necessary for the property owner while kicking the exorbitant-rent-paying tenant to the curb. As quotes from the other reviewers indicate: «This agency caters to the landlord and not the renters.» /«If you want to be happy you will find another place to rent from.» /«As soon as we had any concerns, complaints, or even simple questions we were met with extreme animosity and resistance to assist with our needs.» /«They were very friendly at first and then we had a few problems with the rental house and all that friendly manner went away.» /«They are ruining the rental market by jacking up the rental prices to make money for themselves.»(search«Valdez Associates Santa Fe» on google & yahoo for these reviews) In my case, I asked if the potential property would allow a wall to be painted, not a whole room — but a wall. and Ms West said she knows the owner, who is very conservative, and they would never allow it. Not a great sign, but ok — I went ahead with the Rental Application, which was a non-refundable $ 40. I should enter in at this point that I have a fun bohemian not-conservative style of dressing, but have a very secure job & income. The application states they«do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin or ancestry.» What they don’t tell you is they will discriminate on the basis of colorful clothing and potential bohemian home furnishings for a conservative home owner. So Becky West leaves me a message saying the owner had rejected my application because I had an «eviction» on my record. Which I absolutely don’t. And I called back explaining that I have the paperwork. legal & otherwise, for ALL residences in my rental history– and that there was never an eviction of any kind. I asked her to call back — but of course she didn’t, because she was lying, and perpetrating discriminatory practices. Now, thank God she was a slimeball ~ because I got a far superior & larger place in a better neighborhood for less money just 2 days later… but I still am going to get my $ 40-worth of payback for the deposit they stole from me to fictionalize details on my background check, to warn YOU to NOT deal with these people. Move along. Unless you are a slumlord who wants to get in bed with these folks for dirty deeds; then be my guest. They’re the ones for you.
