This bike shop is incredible. The staff is always super kind and helpful when I come in for parts or repairs. You can tell they truly care about their customers. I received a thoughtful, handwritten card from them in the mail and I was astonished. I can’t think of any other business of any kind that sends handwritten letters to their customers. Aside from service and parts, the vibe of Cycle Star Bikes is great too. They’re always playing good music when you go in, there’s a mini book shelf and some chairs for people to hang out and a guitar hanging off the wall that people play sometimes. They do a great job of making this bike shop feel homey with a great sense of community. All in all, great place to go if it’s in your vicinity.

Great local shop, super knowledgeable staff, quick turnaround and great pricing. Doesn’t get any better! Went in on my lunch break with some shifting/​dérailleur problems and was out of there in 15 minutes. Thank you Cycle Star!

A friend recommended this bike shop as a place where the service was great. Brought in my 20 year old street bike in for repair on a Thursday and asked if it was possible to have a 24hour turn around since I did not want to miss my weekend ride. Scott, the owner, said he would do his best to accommodate. About an hour after leaving the shop I got a phone message indicating the bike was done and ready for pick-​up! Upon returning to the shop to pick up the bike I asked about upgrading the drive train. Scott said the bike was not worth further investment but I should consider a new bike at some point since I ride a lot. He was happy to talk with me and provide information without any pressure attached. If customer service is important to you I would highly recommend Cycle Star as it appears to be a very well run shop. They carry Giant and Cannondale street bikes as well as some previously owned bikes for resale. I will be back when I am ready to purchase.

If your looking for a bike store look no further… no really. Hands down the best bike store I have ever been to! The owner Scott is very personable and very helpful, if he has time and you are interested he will even teach you a thing or two about bike maintenance. Both Scott and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable in any type of bike, MTB, road, hybrid you name it. Prices are unheard of here as well, get a full and complete tune up for far under the price of others. I cannot stress this enough quit going to Dicks or some other store for your bike, Cycle Star Bicycles is where is at, you will not regret it.

I had a great experience with Cycle Star purchasing my new Cannondale Evo 5! They had great pricing and the owner Scott does customer service right. He was very knowledgable, and I felt like he went out of his way in helping me answering any questions I had. I highly recommend this bike shop! I even received a hand written card in the mail from Scott thanking me for my recent purchase, if that’s not great customer service I don’t know what is! You can’t go wrong with Cycle Star!

Went in late today to buy some tube goo for my hybrid bike tires. Now I don’t ride this bike much but was getting ready to head down to Santa Barbara for the day tomorrow to do some cruising with a friend. I didn’t think I had time to get a tune on my bike but the owner said he would be around for a bit & if I went home to get my bike, he would fix it fast. Well a quick trip home & back to the shop, 20 minutes at the shop, and my old Diamondback is ready to roll!
I am happy to support this great local business. We have purchased two bikes from them over the past several years and have always been pleased with their service and prices. I am so happy they moved closer in to Orcutt! This weekend I am going back to take my husbands bike for a tune so we can start riding together and take advantage of the official start of summer ;-)

I came in a couple of times to browse around. I had been in here about two years ago when I first saw what real quality bikes were like. Although I couldn’t afford the bike I wanted at the time, the owner Scott was always really friendly with me. He let me ride the bike around and I fell in love with it. I came back a couple of times and received great customer service and was always welcomed even though I wasn’t buying anything. I finally decided to buy the bike and I will be coming here for all my bicycle related purchases. I’m very happy to have found this bike store.

Recently bought a Defy road bike from Scott and Robert. I was returning from LA and they were kind enough to wait for me to arrive to do the fitting. The customer service was amazing… Scott is kind and thorough. Robert is knowledgeable about the products and both understand the idea of a budget. They are moving to a new location in Orcutt. Definitely will stop in to let them know how much I LOVE my bike. In addition to the time and energy spent on my new bike, they refitted my boyfriends bike at no charge. He is thrilled with the corrections Scott made. If you are a new or an experienced rider, you will find this to be the store for you.

We bought a kids bike here. Nice bike — well made — not a WalMart cheapy. The guy in the store was very nice. Low Key. Not a pushy salesman. He was a bit standoff ish but that was not too much of a negative for us. Let us look around.
If you want someone to hold your hand while buying a bike, perhaps go elsewhere, but if you want a nice experience, someone who will answer questions when you have one, and leave you alone when you don’t — you will love this shop.
