New to the area, and have been loving all the mom and pop places we’ve found thus far. This was a frightening visit. My husband and I arrived on a Saturday at 11:30 am, we had been out and about shopping all morning and thought, «World’s Best Burger!» WHYNOT? We laughed about the scene from the movie«Elf» and the«World’s Best Cup of Coffee» that tasted like a crappy cup of coffee. The place looked run-down, furniture is mis-matched, but some of the best food comes from places like that. We’re brave! We went in, there were two employees — a woman at the counter and a man in the kitchen. The woman spoke very limited English, and we used our bad Spanish skills to place our order. We could see the cook visibly working at a cutting board, cutting raw chicken. We ordered two burgers and I paid for them. Two burgers, two fries, and two cans of soda was $ 15.76. I paid, grabbed our sodas from the refrigerator, and started walking around the room looking at stuff, listening to the TV. My husband grabbed his soda and walked out the front door. He called me to come talk to him. He said he watched the man in the kitchen shake the raw chicken off his bare hands, wipe his hands on a kitchen towel, then wipe them on the apron across his chest, and proceed to grab ingredients — again with bare hands — to cook our order. We took the order to go, and threw the food away without opening it. Someone is gonna die from their food. They’re going to need our $ 15 for their attorney fees.

Sorry to say but I tried the burger here and it was the WORLD’S WORSTBURGER!!! Yuck. My girlfriend was laughing at me because I went there to see for myself if it was indeed the world’s best burger as a huge banner says on the outside of the joint. Perhaps there is other food here that is decent but I don’t want to waste my time after my experience here.

Okay, I went back. It’s still nothing but a greasy burger joint run by a Korean guy. Want Korean food? Go to a Korean restaurant!

I tried this place based on the good reviews here on Unilocal.I was disappointed It’s dirty and cluttered. There were paint buckets and tools just sitting around on a counter in the dining area. I tried what the owner, «Señor Kim,» declares to be the world’s best hamburger. OK, I knew that was hyperbolic and didn’t really expect it to be that wonderful. But there was absolutely nothing special or good about it. Very bland. I may go one more time just to give it another try. I’ll try some of his Korean BBQ

Came back home and was surprised to see a KOMEX(Korean/Mexican) fusion place. So I decided to try it out. I had a burrito ‘korean’ style and some chicken tacos ‘korean’ style. They were both ok. I expected to have some kimchi in the burrito but to no avail there wasn’t. Other KOMEX places I’ve been to do that. The portions were ok. The owner(I assume) was very nice and made sure that we were taken care of. Overall it was good, they can improve. Its different and some these reviewers need to expand their palate

Very tasty Korean BBQ. Had the burgers before as well– just like homemade.

Great burger, had Kim’s burger with Korean bbq spices. Very tasty. And as I finished my burger I was brought a plate of chilled watermelon. Secret – the burger is made with veggies ground into the meat so it’s moister and healthier

This place is pretty good but some items on the menu can get pricey. I went today and the food was really good but I ordered the Korean BBQ Sandwhich(which had the bread, slices of korean steak, onions, mayo, and bell peppers) which was the size of a small torta for $ 6.99 on its own today. I also ordered a side of fries which was $ 1.82. Total price for both items $ 9.58 without a drink for a quick lunch. That was way over priced for me. The burgers are a good value and they are tasty as well. If I go back I wil probably get other items on their menu that are a better value.

I got the Kim’s Special Burger which was cooked well and tasty with the Korean seasoning – it tastes like teriyaki basically. The lettuce, tomato, and cucumber was really fresh. Only problem I had with the burger is the bun got soggy on some parts. Overall a relaxed place to get food. I wonder how their other offerings such as tacos, burritos, and rice plates are. Seems like they have a lot going on!

Walking distance from the Travelodge. Was going to go for Korean but got swayed by the burger. Very good tasting burger. The meat was really tasty and the avocado(extra) was awesome. The bun was so fresh it fell apart and i ended up eating the second half with a fork. Standard issue fries. Nice people, good food. Pondered whether to take a chicken bowl for a late night snack but decided against it. Next time I pass thru I will go for the Korean.

A decent Korean/Mexican fusion place in Santa Maria, who knew? The restaurant itself is labeled as «The Restaurant at Cornerstone» my husband and I passed it at first because we were looking for«Señor Kim’s». Here’s what you need to know: Portions are a good size The ingredients are fresh Prices are not bad Service was fine My family and I will be heading back there again. =)

The place is great! Totally recommend. It’s to die for!!! Pros: It’s a mom and pop shop(family owned). Prices are affordable. Dishes are amazing although it may sound or look simple. Korean beef fusion with American recipe. Quiet environment. Free watermelon slices after every meal(if dined at restaurant) Cons: It’s hidden. Location can easily be overlooked. I will definitely come here again. I would traveled all the way from Long Beach, CA to taste Cornerstone’s delicious Korean beef tacos. A+++++

Santa Maria doesn’t know what hit them… yet! The Cornerstone Restaurant sits in an unassuming location, but what lurks inside is pure genius! Korean style tacos(originated by Kogi’s food trucks) are the bomb! I’ve seen some national restaurant chains(ahem CPK), trying to do the same, but they fail miserably. Bong Kim, the owner and engineer of the«World’s Best Burger» make a bomb homemade, freshly grounded patty, available in both regular or Korean styles. Oh and the breakfast fried rice is off the hook too!
