My favorite Mexican restaurant in town. I usually order shrimp tacos or other shrimp related dishes. The food is pretty good in the three times I have eaten here. Would recommend and go again when I am in town and in the mood for some Mexican food.

Great little hole in the wall! I had the huevos rancheros while my honey had the ranchero burrito. I loved mine and so did my sweetie. For me the test of a good Mexican restaurant is in how good their rice and beans are and this place easily passed the test. Service was as good as the rice and beans, very friendly waitress. Two thumbs up, we will be back.

First time here. Service was good, chips and salsa were really good. Food came out fast and hot. We had the Mexican lasagna and chiliquilles. Both were good, lots of flavor. Will go back for sure.

Really. I ordered carne Asada tacos. tortillas were overdone, it’s like they heated two tortillas at the same time, and left them on the comal. Forever. No thanks.

Just stopped by while on a road trip. Had really good tacos for $ 1.49. The best part was the wonderful waitress. Best service we ever had and she really brightened our day!

Burrito quest lands me at Taco Ranchero today. A larger stomach is obviously reserved for the giant burrito($ 10). A regular one is only $ 7 and just as satisfying. Order it wet or dry, with green or red sauce, and with whole or refried beans. Shredded beef man, get the shredded beef. And don’t fill up on the chips and salsa. This place seems to be popular. How often do you get to see a city council member and public defender in the same place at the same time?

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in town! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s quick, cheap and excellent. My favorite is the Montezumas Delight. And the salsa. I’ve never had a better salsa, and I refuse to buy any in the store now. I’ll just go get theirs!

Love this place, my wife and I come here all the time for the AlPastor tacos or burritos. I have also had the chorizo/egg breakfast burrito and it’s amazing. Their chips are always fresh and they have some of the best salsa around. You will not be disappointed, just stop in and enjoy the food and excellent service.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a small lunch while visiting his parents in Santa Maria. We found this place while running errands. We just wanted to share something and have a margarita. When walked in we were pleasantly greeted by the server. She was very nice and immediately gave us menus. After a minute she returned and asked us if we wanted a drink. We both ordered margaritas. They were a little sweet but still good for what we were looking for on a sunny afternoon. We ordered two crispy tacos with rice and beans to share. The al pastor was very yummy! It was well seasoned with a little sweetness too. Perfect. The chicken was also seasoned well. The rice and beans were quite good too. The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars out of 5 is the margaritas were weak and a little too sweet for our liking. In addition, we noticed that they charge an additional fee for extra chips and salsa. Although good, I don’t think restaurants should charge extra for this since it really is just a part of dining at Mexican restaurants. Give them a try, it’s worth it!

I’ve eaten here twice and there are better and less expensive Mexican restaurants in town. They are not generous with their portions and the food lacks any seasoning. In addition, both times I have eaten here at lunch time and they have not been busy at all. I don’t see this place surviving unless they improve.

DONOTORDERFROMTACORANCHEROINSANTAMARIA. Their food is good, yes, but their customer service is so shitty! I called and ordered 4 combination plates. 1 #1, 1 #3, and 2 #5’s. The #1 and the #3 were great, perfectly made and still hot when they arrived at my house. However, I only got 1 #5 and that was wrong! My order was 1 #5 with two crispy chicken tacos and the other #5 with two crispy beef tacos. What I got was 1 #5 combo plate with 1 chicken and 1 beef taco. Which is not what I ordered. I called back and I got a nasty response saying that it was a misunderstanding but they would not fix it, they would not deliver to me again since I live in Tanglewood, even though it was them who fucked up. The woman, who disgustingly enough was the boss, told me that her cashier repeated the order, and while yes she did say«So one beef and one chicken» How was I to know that she hadn’t gotten it right? The way I heard it, and the way I’d described my order to the cashier, she understood that I got 1 #5 combo with chicken, and 1 #5 combo with beef. No problems. Apparently there was a problem. They said they’d give me a discount next time, but that meant that my boyfriend and I didn’t get to eat now, so we turned that down and asked them politely to remake our order, which I’d gladly re-pay for if they’re gonna sit there and insist that they didn’t charge 2 #5’s, but I would not pay the $ 5 for them to deliver it again, as it was their mistake and I, the customer, should not have to pay for their fuck up. The boss was incredibly rude and raised her voice at me and my boyfriend when we told her how insanely shitty her customer service was, then hung up. So I called the restaurant, as the boss called me from her cell phone, and explained what happened to the cashier, hoping for a friendlier response and nope. I got once again, yelled at and hung up on. So for $ 35 dollars and slightly dry refried beans and tacos with hardly any meat in them, fuck Taco Ranchero. Don’t waste your money here. You don’t want to pay the bills for disgusting people with shitty attitudes. Especially considering multiple times I was told that«We don’t need your service.» Fine. Don’t have my service and I’ll have the last laugh when people stop coming into your shit hole of a restaurant, and you’re forced to shut down due to not making enough money. My boyfriend and I went to Burrito Loco on Clark Avenue and our order was made perfectly AND quickly and was MUCH less expensive, we got more food and the service was incredible as it always is So overall, do not waste your money on Taco Ranchero, because sure, their food is good, but for all the shitty service, it’s not worth it. Especially since there are good places like Burrito Loco that actually treat their customers well.

Today my dad and I went for a late lunch. My dad have been many times and recommended the place. Very small place and friendly waitress. My dad had the cheese enchilada, chile relleno and crispy taco. I had the shrimp tacos. They were great! I tasted the chili relleno and it was also very tasty. The prices were pretty good and I would like to try what else they have soon :)

this isn’t a review on the food but rather the service. called in the order for a friend that was needing a burrito sized pick me up. they were receptive to taking the order. minimum $ 25 order to deliver(which when you consider the low prices, is a whole lot of fiesta). the gentleman who picked up the phone seemed a little scrambled taking my order. handed me over to a woman mid order to complete the order. unfortunately the food delivered wasn’t the correct order. normally that would prompt me to write a negative review but with a simple call back they were extremely apologetic and sent over a second delivery with the missing item ordered in addition to the other item. according to my friend the food was yummy. so i really appreciated the business and their service. prompt delivery time too. probably would come by in person if i was ever in the area. and three types of churros is always a win in my book! recommended for phone service with efforts to ameliorate. people were extremely kind on the phone and the selection was legit.

This place was ok. I went with family for the first time. It was a Friday night and there was only one waitress, which I felt bad for the girl but the service was of course slow. she was nice though. There were 4 of us and they only give a small bowl of salsaso we had to ask for salsa about 3 times, but the salsa was really good. the rest of my family only ordered quesadillas and they thought those were really good. I ordered fish tacos… the«fish» was deep fried. like extra fried. it was so crunchy that I tried to take the crunchy part off and just eat the fish but there was hardly any fish! Looked like the frozen kind you can buy at the store. So not too good of an experience.

Worst fajitas I’ve ever had. They were square diced green peppers and onions with little chunks of «steak» they should rename them giblet fajitas. They refused to honor a gift certificate I had purchased a month earlier saying they don’t take that kind and it was expired. It said on the certificate«does not expire» but I refused to pay more so they called the owner and then agreed to take it just this once… like I was going to return! After all that they charged me too much tax but I didn’t realize it until after I left.

I LOVE this place. Everything I’ve had here has been delicious, however the flautas and chile rellenos are my favorite. The salsa is delicious although not as spicy as I’d prefer. They do have a spicier version though which they are glad to substitute. The waitresses are always friendly and the owner always says hello. The prices are very reasonable. Love it!

Yeah, I went to a Mexican restaurant and got a salad… but I wasn’t that hungry! So, it was supposedly a tostada salad, but there was no tortilla under the layers of shredded lettuce, so it just gave me an excuse to eat more chips! The salad was decent actually though. The shrimp were small, but nicely marinated and grilled, along with red & green bell peppers. it also had beans, tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream. Total was $ 7 and I licked my plate clean.
